I'm glad you listened to this new song by Floor for us / together with us, because you help us see it through your eyes and listen to it with your ears :) Unlike the other 4 songs, I needed a number of listens to familiarize myself with this song and its meaning. This is because I consider myself an expert in daydreaming :) It is a bit bittersweet and intimate for Floor, but with an intense aspiration for freedom / liberation. As she said in an interview, it's like a piece of a puzzle. Along with the other 4 songs so far (Fire, Storm, Me Without You, Invincible) Daydream gives me an idea about the diversity of themes and approaches in her new album.
Upon first listen I didn’t think this was as good as previously released singles, but I like it more and more each time I hear it. Everything Floor sings is great with me. This is what Floor said about this song, “The lyrics of this song are to myself, from that haze back to the "real me." The wolf and the dog in me were trying to reach each other again, for I am two in one. The message in this song is a reminder that there is strength in misery and lessons to be learned from tough times. It's a gentle nudge to hold your head up high and to embrace your inner self.”
Spectacular...what else can you say! She is the best female lead singer for any band, she could be world famous as a solo artist! I am just thankful to get to listen to her music!
Love the style and placement of the lyrics for Floor and Nigtwish lyric videos. Oh and this one will be immense live. Top reaction as usual. Thank you.
This is crazy,....when I first heard this song, and there comes: "do you hear my voice"....I just burst into tears...(it still affects me). For years, I have convinced myself, that I am a tough guy and emotions are for the weak... and then came Floor Jansen, and all that facade came crashing down, and now I am a different person altogether 🥰.Floor healed me. This new song reminds me to hear myself and my inner voice. Daydreams are still a big part of my life, and so is Floor's music. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
There is a place inside where truth and love resonate. Floors voice reaches this place and lights it up. Thank you Debbie for a beautiful, heartfelt reaction. Paul 🙏😊👍❤️
Debbie just love your reactions particularly to Floor and Nightwish. Also love your wicked laughs and your take on your southern words. Keep hanging on to that pen !! Love from the UK
I may have "daydream"'d myself, im pretty good at it, but I think FLoor said somewhere this was also about lockdown (like Fire)(I think you would like that song too Debbie). Daydreaming about being able to get back to normal again hearing peoples voices for real and not on a phone or facetime, and she is telling herself now she can stop daydreaming "its over" We can start to get back to normal. You could mistake it as being about a breakup which I suppose it is but not a relationship as such, the breakup of being in lockdown and then being set free again and being able to hear hers and others voices again without quarantine restrictions. Wow that was deep and meaningful for me, must be the coffee kicking in. Thanks for the reaction. :)
Such an incredible song. I love hearing Floor’s lower, more “chesty” range. That part of her range really reminds me of her sister, Irene. Oh! That’s right, I hadn’t mentioned, Floor has a younger sister who is also a singer.
I hear it first without lyrics, than watch the video with lyrics (I am german) than again just listen and yes .. I can hear it even when the song is over. AND WITH FLOOR .. LIVE IS EVER BETTER ❤🔥
Please react to the first 2 singles she released from this upcoming album. There are videos for each; Fire & Storm (my fav). You should also check out another side project called Northward she did with a friend. Video of the song While Love Died is fun.
Floor is great in the studio, but she only gets her superpowers when performing live. So she's pretty much always better live. This song will be no exception. It's good here, but will be phenomenal live. And yes, I do like her videos with the lyrics.
Jumping right in to her newest song eh? I kinda thought you'd do all her older songs before this...not that there's anything wrong with that haha! As for this song, I think Floor is finding her (solo) voice more and more as she goes...this song is fantastic! I really can't wait for her album to come out...all these singles are a tease! Cheers!
We can't wait either! That voice does things to you. Yep love the large themed lyrics. Oh, "Unleash The Archers" have an ending of the pandemic song with lyrics appearing on city buildings as they walk to join each other in the city centre
Congratulations on your first 10k subscribers. And again, Floor met all my expectations. I'm really looking forward to her album and tour.Floor, as well as Nightwish are always live best.
Floor feeds off the audience. So when singing to people she just seems to connect with people and that translates somehow with her performance. Even the Island Arms performance, while good, lacks that “it” factor which comes through when there is an audience.
This is part of a post Floor put up in her community tab on her channel on her birthday, February 21st regarding "Daydream"..... "This song was written during the dark days of COVID, and it's a reminder to keep hoping, keep dreaming, and keep moving forward. I can't wait for you all to hear it and I couldn't think of a better day to announce it. Love you all!!" Great reaction and always a blast to watch your videos. Thank you so much. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤️🤘🤘
About the videos, normally Hannes (her husband) produces them. Don't know about this one. And indeed, text accross the video makes reading easier than just small at the bottom.
Do yourself a favor and comment on the live performance of "stabat mater dolorosa" by "Epica" together with Floor Jansen. This performance will knock you down.
I gather from the comments that I wasn't the only one who didn't fall for this particular song on first listen. It's taken me a couple of re-runs to appreciate it. That said, while I will buy that album, I'll prefer any song she's done in the metal genre or in "Beste Zangers" or "Sing meinen Song" (the German equivalent of Beste Zangers) over this one. Her singing is perfect, no complaints there. But somehow, this song just doesn't touch me like almost every other of her songs do. 🤘🏻 from Germany

I haven't eagerly anticipated an album since the Beatles.

And of course she has a wolf behind one ear and a dog behind the other tattoo 😊
I am just waiting like a boy on Christmas until i get the new album 😍

I love how you put the subtitles on for a lyric video and don’t even notice 😂. Great song,

can't wait for listening and watching this live this May. Floors Solo shows will be awesome (as usual) 🤩
This is my favorite of all of Floor's solo songs yet... and I love them all. Fun reaction and thank you.

See and hear them both, together, in Ayreon's works!
@@damienmaynard8892 I second that! Ayreon - The Eye of Ra live is a good one
I am a guy, but Floor's angelic voice can and does make my face water. Simply amazing!
Everything she does us upgraded when she is on stage/live.
Floor wrote a beautiful song

Beautiful. Yes, Floor. I hear your voice! The Daydream is what we were all doing during the shutdowns.
She has addet txt below the original link about how the song was born. I think you should also read it, when you got a moment...
Goosebumps from head to toe instantly

Congratulations again on 10k, you deserve it. The lyrics are helpful.
