Even though this guy sucked at this performance ( and out a lot of all the other performances I've seen from him) it was inspiring at the same time. Why ? because I suck at guitar, compared to the pros, and this guy doesn't sound any better than me on it. With this said if he could be on the stage it gives hope that anybody could be on the stage. There's a clear difference from Slash playing this song and even dozens of RUclipsrs, compared to what this guy has done in the last videos that I just went through today. All videos from different days in different venues. I get pissed off when I'm trying to cover songs because I may not get every single note like the original guys do and this guy probably gets two in every 20 notes right. But hey... people are enjoying it
You do realize that he played the solo differently on purpose,right? And the second solo was played by the other guitarist...gulby actually plays pretty well
Billy Washburn I’ve seen both live twice, actually saw Gilby play to around 20 of us at a small gig. I love Gilby, great player and loved him in GNR. But Richard F is a better guitarist mate
Gilby es cool, es buen guitarrista ritmico, su estilo es sencillo,.crudo y directo. Sus solos son decentes ( los que el escribe) sencillos pero agradables, pero cuando quiere tocar solos de slash o de alguien mas lo hace muy mal....hace su propia version de ellos pero son muy malos...vean los covers que ha hecho de Sweet Child Omine y el echa a perder el solo de manera deprimente.
He is not good at playing n singing simultaneously n singing is too limited.... however he shall be remembered for his serious n urgent tenure with gnr.... god bless him !!
It's sad to see that Gilbey hasn't been able to learn how to play guitar properly since he left GNR in 1994. He is so primitive with his guitar efforts. I did not expect to hear he is so bad in playing . Couldn't even play simple solos of the song. Can't believe he played in GNR decades ago! Bad at singing.
This is just sad. Yes he sounds better than Axl does these days, but who doesn't, Gilby, you really shouldn't sing , you struggle with the high notes. Plus, dude you were in GnR for what, like 5 minutes and one time was mistaken for a fan and ask to be in a GnR video even though you were in the band. Just shows what an impact you had with GnR, just fucking sad.
