Nothing can replace the feeling of knowing nothing on the mechanics and diving head first into this game...from the first tree cut down to the first time slowly going insane (with headphones on alone at home and turning around to see if my wife came home cuz I kept hearing voices lol)...what a great feeling and what a great game. And that's even after you mastered some of the elements it is still a blast to play

I strongly agree on the building area problem. The game is fantastic, but it needs some refining in this area. You gave a pretty good review. It's not far off either on how to play. It's hard. You have to plan.
Not only is this game hyper realistic but the community is AMAZING, bought the game on Xbox 3 days ago and fell In LOVE instantly. Everyone I met was so kind and so far I haven’t met a single toxic player! I have never seen that happen!

Well I’m definitely buying this now 😝 I’ve watched several videos and the more I research this game, the more I want the challenge. My favorite game right now is Fallout 4 because of the challenges I’m faced with daily and the building; it’s the best! So it looks like I’m buying Green Hell 😜🤗
For survival games, I jump back and forth from Green Hell, ARK: Survival Evolved, and either Fallout 4 or Skyrim on the Survival Mode difficulty. (I know they aren't initially survival games but the difficulty modes they both have for their "Survival Modes" make them both fun and challenging.)
Already had this game on Switch but after watching your review I got it on sale on Steam for PC. It's the most hardest survival game I have played yet. I still have not unlocked every info on herbs and food. Every time I head out to do something I can get killed by a snake or something else. It's fun, it's frustrating and it's Green Hell for me again. I have to try out multiplayer.

Subnautica Below Zero is an awesome game… I stopped playing Red Dead Online after months of play for Subnautica Below Zero… Green Hell will probably be my next addiction
@@1anre I loved all 3 for different reasons. The Forest was scary and had that big element if fear which was awesome as well as a really good story and great controls. Subnautica and below Zero were beautiful and it was a more chill game there wasbt that fear element you had in the Forest but still brilliant game play and a great story. Green Hell was the most realistic survival wise and the most difficult but I loved that, the building in this was my favourite too because it was difficult, labour intensive and required a lot of resources so it sucked you in(although the building in the forest in awesome too). I loved all them immensely but the one I go back to time and again is the Forest, it's the best to test yourself on hard survival building more and elaborate traps, rides and buildings.

I love survival games like The Forest, Stranded Deep and Don't Starve just to name a few, however this game may not be my cup of tea. It's unfortunate too because I wanted to give it a try. I've read up on it beforehand and found it's too demanding and difficult to survive. I want a survival game where I can learn at my own pace and not have it be too unforgiving for making the wrong choices. This game is way too difficult for my taste so I've always passed up the chance to buy it even when it's on sale.
Good in-depth review, it happens that people like me sometimes don't have time for a full +20 minute review like that, I went through it anyway, I'm not disappointed, but perhaps making use of time tags, with at least conclusion marked would be nice.
Realistically you could survive without much carbs. If you eat the liver and other organs of whatever animal you gain almost all the nutrients you need even vitamin c if you are willing to eat raw meat.
Have some spare Steam credits in my online wallet, would you recommend picking GreenHell, or ARMA III, or Insurgency: Sandstorm, or Squad? I can’t pick more than one game to exhaust my credits; All those genres are cool to me, I just want to pick a game with good community support, & has high replayability.
I really enjoy green hell. I play on the Switch, and my biggest challenge is how 'sticky' the cursor is when hovering over items during crafting, thus slowing down the crafting process. I mean, the clock is ticking and my stats are always dropping, so slow crafting is exasperating. Am I missing something? Is there an option to disable sticky cursor?
I understand the desire for realism and difficulty, but I often find the mechanics so needlessly clunky to the point where it’s ridiculous. I’d only ever recommend this game to hard core survival genre fans, because anyone else probably wouldn’t enjoy it.
Not sure if i wanna buy this, I watched Farket's playthrough and the building seems buggy and annoying. Building is something i would want to do regularly and if its this annoying and i would have to download a mod in order to make it bearable idk if i would want to get it. Good video though, you covered basically everything I wanted to know. :D
Building can be spotty at times... I don’t recommend building in or around water. It’s a no go. Just a headache. I recommend building in a cleared zone or off of an existing POI.
If you play the story and spirits of amazonia after that you are not going to notice the building problem that much because you don`t need a lot of building. It`s more of an issue for the survival mode because investing a lot of time building just to move on the next day is not worth much in the story mode. There are some issues with the game and I prefer "the forest" but I am not sorry for playing Green Hell. There is still a lot of good gaming time in this game.

it is not worth buying the graphics are rubbish even for Playstation 4 version it just looks like there's still in the process of making it. and the gameplay feels more like a chore then actual gameplay I rather play the forest
This game is a piece of shit on console, not because of the difficulty, something didn´t quite transferred properly to this version, it glitches the bow so you pretty much only carry it and do nothing with it, when saved and load all your items are gone, browsing through the back pack it's laggy so most of the times you made the wrong choices xD!, screen freezes, having a slow ass mouse pointer as the main thing to choose in the back pack sucks, it needs a lot of work in the mechanics of the controls which i doubt it will be done, seemed fun and it was a big dissapointment, it packs a lot of challenge due to difficulty but the most frustrating thing for me were the controller mechanic, waste of money for CONSOLE VERSION.
*This* game is incredibly mediocre and should be classified as a micromanagement simulator, and the devs have gone out their way to make it extremely tedious to do. *After* your first few encounters with most of the stuff in the game you'll how to survive and get around it, now with such an insanely clunky way of doing anything in the game like wiping leeches off for the 3000th time gets so jarring you don't even care to take them off. *Got* a wound that you can't be bothered to deal with? throw your equipped weapon and tools on the ground, kill yourself to reset it and get your stuff back? Why, because having to deal with the micromanagement and clunky inventory/crafting menu for the 10,000th time loses its appeal. *Once* you get used to the world you'll find out that the world isn't actually dangerous or complex, it's just built to annoy you, not to challenge you.
The forest is better and I am not arguing here.But Green Hell doesn`t deserve this comment.It`s still a good game. I don`t feel sorry for playing it at all.

You can survive a few days but your overall health will suffer from it.
