I've been crocheting for about a decade now and those scam amigurumi patterns on Amazon have been a problem since I first started. They use an image stolen from the internet and always credit some generic name with "Mr." in front of the name, and I suspect it might all be the same person or people doing it thinking by using different names on each listing, no one will catch onto the pattern. I thought they all looked sus when I first started crocheting and came across them for the first time, but then I saw a photo from a dinosaur pattern I had already crocheted because it was available free online and put two and two together that they were all fake listings.

Yes I have seen those that have ripped other designers that we already know.

The ai generated image looks very unrealistic

Last couple months, I've been watching a few etsy shops that all look to be owned by the same person abusing ai.
They used ai for creating images of finished crocheted products and reviews constantly mentioned that they didn't finish the pattern they bought. Only so far one crafter realized they bought a stolen pattern that was already free.
Really heartbreaking folks scam like this.

That’s so frustrating, really advise people to do a lot of research if the designer is not known to them.

If it is shown in RUclips videos for entertainment purposes, then it’s okay. They should mention that in their channel bio. However, selling fake patterns on Amazon is not a good thing.

Amazon is full of those, it takes a bit of skill to separate the real ones and AI

I have found a number of free crochet patters that just look too good to be true. I blow up the photo accompanying the pattern looking for irregularities and it just does not look real. My question is why use an AI generated photo with a free pattern? I am afraid to use the pattern because I don't want to waste my time.

Exactly why use AI if it’s a real pattern. Post the photo here so I can be your second eyes maybe I can help you not waste your time.

@@alichecrochetcreations I have tried and tried to copy and paste that photo but it's just not working so I provided the link for the free pattern below.
