Little story: my husband was watching this video with me. After some "humhum" I paused and asked what was on his mind. "Well, she almost paints for 15 minutes without dipping her brush once, you really need to ask her what brushes she uses, so you can stop using so much paint."
It's late here and we were in bed already, explaining the wonders of editing have to wait till tomorrow. 😂😂

I think you captured the beautiful warmth of black skin and the reference photo captured the cooler tones of black skin. I like the differences and I love how she glows in your art!!

So beautiful, as always. Your art does and always will have it's own spin from the reference photo, which is what makes it art in the first place. Your brain is not telling you it's better than it is, it's showing you the piece you created AS IT IS, it's own thing, separate from the initial idea and separate from the reference piece. Also, no, you're not going crazy. When you painted the clothing, it was the last value needed to show the full depth of the piece. With that in place instead of the white paper, the depth and values came together. :3

Thank you Kenneth! It can be hard for me to paint a photo that i already love so much as it is, it gets hard for me to translate it into something else. im so glad i painted the clothing , it was a last minute decision but i think its a good one.

i think the reason we dont like our art while we make it but like it afterwards is because we get too used to it so we keep looking for things we havent seen, so when we come back weve forgotten what it looks like and we realize its not as bad? lol sorry if thats weird wording

I like your artstyle. in the somewhat soon eventuality (depends on recruitment speed) would you like to join me as a hobbyist making some nice videogames then sharing the income coming out of it? if so LEAVE ME AN E--MAIL. then i post my current videogame stubs short description forms. (from tumblr). Some of the games are fit with your style of painting. I can pick up on microexpressions. probably artists can likewise pick up on microexpressions. Often i see this either grim style in science fiction or Light emphasized style. I want the composition to talk more about some material or feel.
