Thanks Nate, we appreciate the love!🔥
I just subbed! I figured if Nate calls it quality, I’ll probably enjoy it! I’ll check your stuff out after this…🙂
You guys got a real nice call out on the broadcast, as well.
JNA I thought u guys was gonna Win what happened? Love the Channel
WEASEL! YOU TWO ARE NOT HUMBLE! Ashton is ok but that Jack clown is the definition of a weasel. The king ate you for breakfast
I was following MO and Blake at the event and the JNA boys were so happy to just be there and were fun to watch. Also, Mo needs Mo' love. His showmanship and crowd work was phenomenal. Plus he is adorable while doing it!
I think it’s important to remember (or consider) these things: 1) French Link. Have you ever been there, doubters? It’s a haul. Even from Indy. GG had a reason to bring this event here and mainly (I’m guessing) because it’s a good track, they could do 18 holes, and the venue likely appreciated the attention. 2) GG will get the A-listers in time. Right now they need to get the Beems and Blocks and Spirinacs because they’re not B-list… just a little down the line. If they were to get Blockie, DeChambeau, and Rory into one of these in the future (and that’s not out of the realm of possibility) they’d break the internet. 3) this is STILL experimental. They’re testing out a bunch of things… monitoring for the future… getting their sea trials in. They’re getting better. What I like about this is… they’re literally testing out the waters to TAKE ON LIV. Maybe not now. Maybe not another five years. But, get a grip: the NFL wasn’t “The NFL” the first ten years into their existence. You need time to build a mythology. But mythology sells. Big time. 4) they have the liberty of moving deliberately. They don’t have to hit a home run first game out. A few doubles… a triple here and there? You can build a season on that. The technology is getting better… the personalities are there… the platform is there… holy geezus… give these kids a break. They’re doing something UNIQUE here.
I think people want the RUclips format. The formal broadcast style is so impersonal to what youtubers are accustomed to. They still haven't gotten the formula right for showing all the different golfers. I look forward more to the individual videos from each creator, than to main broadcast. That being said, I think it was a great effort, and improvement from the Desert Open.
The best format for a RUclips tournament by far was Micah Morris' Teebox Classic. Good Good should try to mirror that, but with their bigger resources.
Would be somewhat fascinating to see if maybea truly cooperative approach could work: creating a YouTour Golf channel and have everyone pool resources and share in the proceeds. After that, partner channels could release their individual channel videos. I don't know well enough how the business ends of YT works, but i doubt it would be as lucrative. They'd probably have to have four or five principle partners and funnel views through those to gain exposire for smaller channels... just brainstorming.
I think a big thing to consider as well with the view counts is the fact that this was in the middle of the day on a Tuesday vs. a sort of primetime viewing window with the desert open. I think a lot of people that probably would've been interested to watch would've been at work and unable to watch.
add these teams and clicks would go thru the roof:
Fat Perez/Borgmeier
Trent/Frankie
Riggs/Rapaport
Grant H/George Bryan
Luke Kwon/Taco Golf
Bobby Fairways/Wesley Bryan
Joey Coldcuts/Peter Finch
Josh Kelley/Ben Hadden
BustaJack
Micah/Rick Shiels
This is the most unbiased list I have seen from comments on RUclips
You aren't wrong. That would be an epic event to watch live.
@@davedunst7133 there seems to be some bad vibes driving these no shows. wish they would all temper the egos and get something like this done. maybe not have it be Good Good-centric? made an updated 18 team list
Brad Dalke/Paige Spiranac
Fat Perez/Borgmeier
Trent/Frankie
Riggs/Rapaport
Grant H/George Bryan
Luke Kwon/Taco Golf
Bobby Fairways/Wesley Bryan
Joey Coldcuts/Peter Finch
Josh Kelley/Ben Hadden
BustaJack
Rick Shiels/Chris 'Trottie' Trott
Ben Kruper/Ashton Gaulin
Matt Scharff/Zac Radford
Garrett Clark/Malosi Togisala
Sean Walsh/Bubbie
Stephen Castaneda/Mason Greene
Micah/Mr Short Game
DoD King/Grace Charis
@BrysonDeAwesome I agree. Only problem with these lineups is having Kwon and Taco together is almost wildly unfair. Would be like having the Bryans together.
@@davedunst7133 or The Blocks ? 🤷🏼
I tried watching for awhile and it didn't hold my interest. I think they need to do some serious consideration of what audience these events are targeted towards. Feels like they are partially trying to satisfy their RUclips audience and partially trying to attract the "normal" golf fan, but I don't think it's doing either thing effectively. I watch a lot of RUclips golf and tour golf but this had neither the entertainment/fun of a YT golf video, nor the quality golf and big golfers of a tournament
It would’ve been cool if they had different feeds to choose from. Maybe with bigger production they could do that.
They need Nate in the booth as an analyst!
Austin Reeves has the personality of a bag of rocks. Tough having him in a featured group.
Agree that it is the difference of watching a RUclips video vs a live televised golf event. Will be interesting to see where they go from here as in if they attract more RUclips golfers at the next event.
I agree that this is not a RUclips-driven event. Peacock is looking for additional live events to sell subscribers, and while RUclips is a decent source, they want a big tent including semi-pro golfers so the winning score isn't too embarrassing, along with the celebrities who were willing to do it (admittedly "B" list people).
My TV upbringing likens this to a Very Brady Christmas Special, where the network puts the cast on a different time slot, has celebrity guest appearances, and instead of doing a normal plot sequence it is a variety show.
What is TOUGH is getting good cart cam footage and player personalities LIVE. Good Good's team can splice the overlapping actual golf and cart cam footage into bite size videos, while during a live telecast you are ALWAYS missing a great moment by its nature.
Dude busted out the anime hairstyle!!
I thought the telecast was better this time. Waiting for the second half to be posted on You-Tube so I can watch the end.
It absolutely was. Karol with the NBC guys was just the right touch of content creator input.
Appreciate you!
Appreciate you more 👊🏻
My Michigan boys
Yesirrr
all in all i think the event was awesome, huge crowd, broadcast was nice quality. the groupings were ok and there couldve been more emphasis on who was playing well rather than following Garret and Reeves as they battle the bottom of the leader board. but still only the 2nd event, they'll only get better
What time stamp?
They didn't deal with the issues from last time so expect even less RUclipsrs in the next one. Why would they join just to get no coverage
Don’t know how ya get a shoutout but Australian RUclipsr that just made a video with Luke Kwon 👍
I’ve heard your name a ton - let me take a look 👊🏻
@@nateedwardsongolf legend mate! Cheers
@nateedwardsongolf come on Nate, take a deeper dive into RUclips golf. Ron is great, like so many others who do not get the love.
Tube golf news
John is unwatchable
Honest question here. Are the personalities of the Good Good members big enough to attract and sustain a mainstream audience? Besides Bubbie, all the guys seem awkward and kind of introverted. Obviously us longtime fans who's been here since the Pursell Farms days and Shadow Glen hole in one will continue to support them. The Midwest open was a huge accomplishment for the group logistically, but I'm not sure it will do much for growing their personal brand and their apparel sales. To break through they need guys like Bryson, Min Woo, Scottie, Clanton (when he's winning majors) wearing the GOOD hats.
I love it! Watched the entire match
No Rick, No BDS for the second Live Open? Why is that?
They’re trying too hard to be professional golfers in these. Set up a live stream at multiple holes to be broadcast on different channels. Make them different challenge holes (tee flip, wheel of ideal, alternate shot, etc.) and everyone gets the same amount of airtime. People are greedy are selfish in general which leads to jealousy and not showing up. Clearly.
It’s great that they’re getting live broadcasting for a RUclips channel but cmon they ain’t doing this for the fans. Most people in the RUclips golf niche weren’t even there and u got to think that in a space where personality can carry the video what makes the average fan want to sit and watch an event with average golfers. Didn’t even think about watching it like did Marques or Austin try to help promote this like did it even pull in new viewership from different fanbases? I’m honestly surprised that they even decided to do another after the first and how disappointing the quality, broadcast and course was with the desert open
I bought a ticket.. and didn’t go. The lineup was… mehhh.. and the course was so hilly
the sound sucked again at thee gg event! i don't get why they cant get this fixed. It needs to be more youtube based. like follow a foresome around for a hole and let them talk it out. Thats what we all want.
I thought the coverage was terrible.
Good Good
I watched and enjoyed the Midwest Open. Do I wish some of the other more well known RUclipsrs had been there, yes. The only negative thing I have to say. I don't recall seeing any of Steve's or Sean's shots.
I agree, but there were a couple of shots from Steve and Sean. I felt this was a big upgrade.
Didnt know the winner Nate, maybe a spoiler alert in your videos next time?
Think your analysis is spot on with these GG events now. Theyre the furthest away from a YT event; the content ia not what people are looking for. All the feedback and numbers shows this. Make no mistake though that GG will be making a ton of money from this. The advertisements and endorsements plus onward sale of merch due to the coverage will be massive. Its just a corporate sell out
No interesting golfers played
Midwest Open sucked! Desert Open was way better
This was not the best RUclips golfers it was actually very avg or below avg golf!
The top 80% of RUclips golfers weren't invited!
This was horrible to watch
golf is a snub snob game u figure it out 4 people I don't miss it a bit
should help out AJ's channel... ooof
Rick is too old to be crying on social media like that
CEO of Good Good has ruined them because in the end they only care about money! No one wants to watch on the golf channel and then groups were bad! The CEO is constantly drinking and partying while single handed ruining what garret and them have created!
Dude I enjoy your content, but that was F…ing wrong. No spoiler alert at all. God dammit dude.
2500 fans showed up. Largest event at pete dye coarse.
Totally shattered the previous record held by the pga tour at TPC sawgrass….
Hate when good RUclipsrs get so big they start going commercial and putting large parts of their content behind pay walls. I’m not buying a subscription to whatever to watch 3-5 hours of your content a year. This is directed not solely at good good btw.
