Sun and Moon were absolutely fantastic. Yeah it had too many cut scenes, and yeah, the festival plaza was... less than optimal. But alola was stunning, trials were super fun, and establishing a league was a great idea.
Just play ultra sun and moon it’s the better version I’m glad skipped sun and moon
I remember me and my friend needing about two hours to figure out how we can add each other as friends and play together on the festival plaza 😂
I think the cut scenes are what made the story amazing tho and it aged really well.
I spent so much time trading with people online in Pokemon Moon. It really breaks my heart that the online will be discontinued next month
Gen 7 specifically USUM, were my favorite Pokemon games and favorite Gen.
It was the last pokemon main series games where all existing Pokemon can be in a single game card and the last main series games where all battle gimmicks(there were only 2 at the time) are all accessible.
Hopefully the whole “all pokemon included” thing changes soon
Those were the last games that weren't an unplayable mess on release day. They had some issues but not as bad as the new ones. I'm also not willing to fork over 15€ or whatever for a handful of new Pokemon. It's sad that Nintendo loves killing good games in favor of mediocore ones.
@@DuskLegend Unlikely, Iwata was the guy who ensured that principle. Now he's no longer with us, corporate greed has taken over principle and so they feel as if we should just get what we're given.
Just too bad so many of the die hards keep defending them. I'm a first gen player - got Blue back in 98 and never stopped, but even I've condemned Nintendo, Game freak and The Pokemon Company for halfassing since Galar in terms of the types of mon availability among other things.

Yup. Remember all the hype and love for gen 5 before the Presents. Till it happened and now there's a huge love for XY out of nowhere lol. megas were the only good part
Yep! Waiting for the day people will finally realise how amazing gen 7 was. From day 1 I've known it was amazing
I don't think there was a black and white effect, everyone I know and remember in the scene at the time loved it when it was out. The only reason people love it more now, is because every game since other than remakes have fallen short of expectations. If Black and White came out on the switch in Sword/Shield graphics for the first time, people would have lost there minds at the improvements
@@ikorraks What killed Black and White was ironically what was just accepted and even defended in Sword and Shield: what was perceived as a dexcut. Black and White went on the premise of only having so many mon in game and didn't say out loud that the national dex was going to be included later - despite that gen pushing the ds to its limit.
Sword and Shield however had no such excuse and made no apology for a deliberate dexcutting and it's prowess was far beneath the Switch's capability and yet barely even tried whilst foistering the audacity to make people pay for an extra two areas with nowhere near the full roster.
@@dereka5310 y was my most played pokemon game i had my save at 999 i had prob about 200 shiny pokemon my 3ds was stolen with my game i was devastated as i was like 13 or 14 st the time id have gave my 3ds away to keep that card..
I loved playing Sun. 700 hours logged, 40+ shiny Pokemon caught/hatched by using the S.O.S. feature and Masada method breeding.
If i remember correctly you can find wild starter Pokemon in Sun and Moon but it involved QR codes and certain areas.
And the ultra games also had some letting you get every starter minus gen 7
I still play online on USUM. I been doing a lot of trading. The problem with the gts is that everytime you scroll to a hacked pokemon the screen freezes.
USUM is a goated modern Pokémon title.

@@Guimhj you just can’t play them a lot I’ve personally played sm/usum a total of maybe 5-7 times and I spread each playthrough out so I don’t really mind the cut scenes
@@GuimhjI might just be the only person who's not bothered by the cutscenes, but that's just because I really like the story I guess. The only one that bothers me is the final one between you becoming champion and battling Tapu Koko because there's no way to save
Those hackers busted the GTS in like 2019 and Nintendo never bothered to fix it and that never sat well either me
it's sad that random bots that create afwul gens are called "hackers" tbh. It's an art to do it correctly and be proud of your work

I still play online like everyday... I battle royal all the time too... you must have been playing at a weird time
keep in mind that Sun and Moon were compatible with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the Ultra games had Island Scans and the Kanto Starters were possible through that as an encounter, using a Beast Ball would be annoying and time consuming but it would be possible to catch either of those in 1.

Ive played pokemon moon in the past few months, alongside ultra sun. Didnt do anything online really but still had a good time and changes my mind on alola as a region. I like it and the story now :)

Sun and Moon gave us the Motherbeast and Ultra Beasts in general. Love this gen. The beginning island, however, is waaaaaaaay too damn slow.
I personally loved SM/USUM. One of my favorite generations to go back to. Although the online was questionable, especially with the GTS. All the hacked trades were such a mess, causing the game to crash and force you to hard reset your system. But other than the online function, these games were great. Plus these games are still one of the only games where every single Pokemon was present in the game. (besides HOME or GO)
I’m about to get Ultra Moon for the first time this Wednesday! I am so excited! The Sun and Moon anime was a huge part of my childhood, but I never played the games until now so it’ll a unique and awesome experience!
you are most definitely going to enjoy them , the story is a bit better than original sun and moon and every pokemon up to that point can be transferred into those games, 10/10 would play 1000 more times

Hopefully some parts can return in some way later on, but if they really wipe the bank, I'll be losing some boxes of useful mons I had for breeding, on top of some of my older, transferred ones....

You can find the starters in the wild with island scan in USUM
I think it is possible to get the earlier starters (I think specific ones were locked to SM vs. USUM), through Island Scan. Fairly tedious process though since what you get depends on the day of the week
I remember getting soo many shinies in the GTS, almost filling up 4 boxes of them.
You could get Charmander and other starters using the mode that I can't remember exactly what it was called, but you could scan random QR codes and it would make special pokemon generate for a limited time. It was quite a fun feature

Top 3 Pokemon game for me, highly underrated
just an fyi; if you have cfw, there are patches that prevent the crashing from happening by patching out the botched trainer portraits causing the crashes :)
I just picked up playing Ultra Sun for like the 3rd time, it’s been a while but after BDSP, Sw/Sh, and even S/V I really really see how much these games gave us. They’re not perfect but I adore them. They’re my favorites I think. I’m 37 and have been playing since I was a 10 year old girl and play now with my son. I just love these games and the post game was S tier.

It is amazing to me, how much better this looks at an internal resolution of just 2x. At 4x it's basically a modern Pokemon game (better). Playing Gen 6 again and, wow.

I really miss 3DS online battling. I liked the super diverse metagame without Dexit in my way.
Competitive in Scat and Vomit is an absolute joke. Urshifu breaks the game cleanly in half.
Gen 7 is the only Gen I skipped most of. I beat moon within launch year. But the rest I never finished. I beat ultra moon last year and loved it. And currently playing ultra sun as a dream team shiny team quest thing.

3ds Pokémon and Mario get way too much hate, which really sucks because I played and enjoyed the ones a played during my preteen to early teen years

I mean, I do. They have ALL the pokemon (from the time), megas, and z moves. I’ll probably train a comp team in gen 9 soon, but I still play on USUM if I get the itch

I tried the GTS a few weeks ago. Couldn’t get them to work at all. It kept crashing on me every time I scrolled past some hacking person.
I hated the 3ds console so I didn't play x/y, sun/moon and US/UM. I just recently played Moon on my steam deck and it's a great game, really enjoyed it.

Hey everyone I could really use some advice. I have a 3ds xl and I have omega ruby on my ds. For a while I was using power-saves to get items and everything for the game. However just last night when I was trying to get ampharos and attached my cartridge into my 3ds it says it got corrupted. Now every time I place my cartridge in the slot remains empty (9) (s) (s) I'm nervous what should I do? Even my powersaves is telling me that my game which I always plugged my game to says it's unsupported. Any advice anything will help I just want to return it to Normal. Is there anything way to fix this?!

Do you have "automatic backups" enabled on PowerSaves? Also, if you have other CFW you might be able to extract the save and take a look at it with PKHeX.

@@PaPaSeasorry to ask but a while ago I tried buying used ultra moon and sun (like both multiple times across 3 days from a used game store) and whenever I got to the z move tutorial the game would just freeze and shut off, is that just a problem the servers have? Or did I just get unlucky and got corrupted save files like 5 times in a row and should try again until I get a working copy? (Again sorry but Reddit and stuff says nothing about it so I’m assuming someone like you is my best option to figure it out; I wanna relive my childhood with a physical copy again)

heres a tip for some of u guys before online trading closes on Pokémon US/UM S/M
when on GTS dont:
•search for pokemon above level 70
•DONT SEARCH FOR MIMIKYU (for some reason my fav Pokémon is hacked)
•any legendary above level 70 will be hacked
this is js a random tip list dont mind me
