hello guys i'm Egyptian Mechanic regarding to delay in shifting transmission to fix this issue you have to replace or to clean the air filter or to clean it well if this problem not solved you have to clean the air sensor and throttle with cleaner cause much amount of air flow required to pass to throttle when shifting from 2nd to 3rd or from 3rd to 4th for high speed welcome to all from Egypt
So, was it the brake pads? Regarding your other issue, it could be any number of things, have you had your engine wiring harness replaced? See my other video on how to change the harness.
A scanner is not necessary. When there are multiple DTCs, the LED will blink one sequence after another,until a single LED blink, indicating that is the last one.

Hello, I went searching for the diagnostic support my car have. I found it but it got no button to push to start the diagnostic test. Is there a way to do it without a button ?. I believe that my car model is marcedes benz e320 1993.
that was cool. My 94 E320TE cranks but no start. I bridged the Fuel pump relay and tricked the fuel pump to come on but still no start, so then I sprayed carb cleaner into the intake and still no start, which tells me I have no spark as well. You recon I have some sort of Imobilizer interfering? No fuel no spark? everything was running fine and after 4 month of sitting the batterie died and would not start anymore. It is a North American model non Calif.
UPDATE: I had fault Code #17 which indicated bad OVP Relay so I drove to a pick-n-pull Junkyard and scored multiple Relay's. I Swapped the Fuel pump Relay as well as the OVP Relay and I am back in Business, running like it always has.
I have a problem myself. Have a delay when switches from 3rd to 4th gear. Before it switches to 4th feels like it's in neutral (rpm's goes high fast and then pops in 4th). You got the same problem? And btw I have 1988 260e
Alex Levinta mine does the same did u figure out the issue? and my code light just stays red then when I press it it only gets brighter..I need an answer right away because people are telling me the tranny is bad 95e420 automatic..

I've already had the wire harness replace a while back and I wish I would of discovered your video sooner hahaha! I have this electrical issue. My radio will not cut on and my power locks are not working automatically any more. Also my seatbelt light keeps flashing. I believe something is draining my battery (perhaps the altenator) can you put up a video on how to replace the altenator please thanks
I am sorry, but I am not an automatic transmission mechanic/expert. I would research the topic on a couple of good Mercedes Benz forums on the Internet or perhaps talk to a transmission specialist at a garage.
17 flashes means: Data exchange malfunction between individual control module. Check to see if all the connectors are firmly attached to the Engine Control Module. Do you have the infamous biodegradable engine harness?
Thank you, I got it fixed. I have ANOTHER issue...sometimes when I accelerate the engine hesitates and it makes a sputtering-putt putt sound preventing me to speed up... any ideas my friend???
thank you very much for this video. I had a bad radiator leak so replaced that and the thermostat. After test driving for few miles the check engine light came on. The car is driving perfectly fine but there as mas amounts of coolant spraying everywhere before it was fixed. When i ran diagnostic it blinked 7 times when seems to be ignition failure. Do you have any input as to what it could be ? and How fatal ? Thanks in advance !
+Diane Gallina Do you still have the original wiring harness? If yes, then maybe when you had the coolant spraying everywhere, it temporarily shorted something out. I would clear the Check Engine Light and see if it stays off. If you have not seen my other video on how to replace the biodegradable engine harness, check it out. Good luck.
+eallevato actually i just tried to reset like you mentioned and now its not blinking 7 times its blinking 12 times. Very Odd !! I looked it up and it says 12 blinks is heat oxygen sensor heater/open / short circuit any input ?
+Diane Gallina Hi, you did not answer my question about the engine harness. If you have the original engine harness, it could be degrading badly and you will see all kinds of bogus faults. You may have multiple faults that need to be cleared.
+eallevato Sorry yes it is the original harness to my knowledge. If a issue with the harness how long till it causes major issues ? or is it ok to drive on it. I tested it a few times with time between and am only getting the 12 blinks. again drives fine minus some shaking at high mph but i think its due to bad brakes

Yes, I know that. That is why at 02:50, I said "I choose not to do anything about it" about this particular DTC code. The intention of the video was to show how to use the built in diagnostics port and how to clear the Check Engine Light.

My LED does not light when I press the button--- do I need to reset the module by disconnecting the battery for a hour or so?

Seven blinks means "Igniton System Faulty". More than likely it is the main engine harness. Do you know if it has been replaced?

Me too--- I think the module has to be reset so I'm going to disconnect the negative battery post for a hour and then try again.

Air sensor? It hesitates above 3800rpm? I hope you still have the W124.

It should have worked. If you look at my video, it also did not work on the first try. I had to press it and hold it for a second time.

Clearing a code by itself does not solve the problem. If you do not repair the function that set the code, it will come back.
