you need to change the master slide in ppt, (As far as I understand all fonts color, sizes and placements are set within ppt. Eric Nanz gave a short presentation about using officer in the Advanced R Markdown workshop held at the 2019 RStudio conference: rpodcast.github.io/officer-advrmarkdown/ It does use an older version of officeR, however the tips are great
