Hello friends! So here's the second upload of the series 'Music & Memories'. This video was captured on phone by my sister Daradi as brother Mridu and I were doing an impromptu jamming ahead of an unplugged performance of mine. I remember, it was an early spring afternoon and the three of us were sitting almost in the middle of the woods as 'Mon-Kobita', the intimate event that followed was organised as a tribute to the legendary Assamese poet Ganesh Gogoi and hence the venue was a green one, faraway from the city.
Since the idea behind this series is to document the poetry of the musical moments as they come and cherish the memories later, no edits have been done with regards to the camera, the vocals, the music or any other sound captured in the moment. It is as raw as it can get! I hope you too shall find some meaning in these imperfections. :)
About the song :
'Regha Dibo Lage Jodi' was an old Assamese classic written around a hundred years back by poet Ganesh Gogoi. It is also considered one of the classics in the Assamese musical literature of all times. Considered to be one of the toughest Assamese songs, it had originally been set to tune by Hiren Gohain and sung to perfection by veteran singer Doly Ghosh.
