Now here's an appropriate comment. Shows gratitude, respect and above all, the character one forges when one trains with correct mind. Salut!.

The school was in the back of his restaurant in Taipei. The only way in was through the kitchen. He had many political enemies and maintained operations quietly. he was such a reserved man, full of honor and martial virtue- just as my Sifu, Thomas Senora. I deem it a great honor to be recipient of the system.

I have his 3 text books and his companion straight line form disc's. Pretty direct stuff. I like it.

Actually there is a theory that Morei Ueshiba actually learned his aikido from bagua, since he spent about 10 years in China before returning to Japan with his new art. This is speculation, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did because there are quite a few similarities.

I practiced Ho Ken Ng's BGZ. Passed to me from Sifu Thomas Senora. Ho Kuen Ng was Ho Ke Cai/Ho Ho Choy's father. The stories of him learning from an old monk...his father was that person. he lived in Taiwan, was wanted part of the Taiwan Koumingtong and part of bodyguard staff to Chiang Kai Shek. He ran a school on Nine Bends road from 50's to 72. He also founded Fu Cai Gong Fu, a rare system, that I will present here. I am disabled now, upper art only. Best wishes!

Sole wrote: "Seriously if this art was effective, you would see it in the ufc". But the problem is, this art, and every art, contains elements that are strictly banned from ufc and and other fighting *sports*. These things weren't developed as *sports*, their intent is to maim and kill, in as quick, dirty and effective a way as possible. Even in-art demonstrations are also obviously held way back. Try jumping a real Bagua master in the street some day and see how far you get. Guns, of course, changed everything ...

I agree with eflzee. Baguazhang is NOT a sport. Its known as the art of master's as well as the art of overkill. Nor is it for self defense, the true baguazhang is for killing and maiming. It is lethal. I would estimate about 2% to 5% of baguazhang masters and players are the only ones who know the real essense of baguazhang.

If these were allowed in ufc and mma then we would see a LOT more takedowns by the throat and joint locks that could break the wrist or so

@@JPGPakuayes, I learned Karate and some basic Bagua. Bagua seems more lethal by fingers jabbing to the eyes, hitting throat, armpits and various groin hitting techniques. While Karate also have some techniques for these areas but not as advanced and multiple angles as Bagua.

Even though I stumbled across this comment 6 years after you posted it... I would like to say that you are delusional for using a soft chinese art against a hardcore martial art.

"Real fights"? No! That's trainning, it's just that they don't punch bags, not only the most cooperative, static opponent in the world, but largelly made more fluffy by hitting with pillow gloves...

Sorry but I don't think you are entirely correct. Fighters learn martial arts that are good at beating people up while standing, kicks, and ground work. Many martial arts that don't focus on that aren't even practiced so it doesn't make the martial art useless, just not useful because of how UFC is fought (A martial art that focuses on disarming weapons) . Also, there are rules in MMA you have to follow which narrows down the moves you can use, even in the martial arts they've trained been in.
