This song makes me think of my brother who was in the Navy and went MIA. He was brilliant, certified genuis, knew several languages, was scouted by the CIA before he even went to bootcamp. He shined like a star, and he quite literally *disappeared* one day in July of 2011. When the last line of vocals from this song plays, I go back to all the times I begged and pleaded with whatever God would listen to not leave me stranded here without my brother. It's been a long time since I last shed a tear for him, but apparently I had more in me, and a lot more than I thought I bundled up. This song helped me work through some shit Vin. Hell, this whole album has made me see things in Another Light, so to speak.

@Can Tin If you're interested, he has a RUclips channel called 'Vinesauce' that's mostly highlights from his Twitch streams, and his Twitch is also just 'Vinesauce' where he streams a variety of games while occasionally talking about some of the current events and happenings in the world or in his life
I'm not exaggerating when I say this. I have listened to this song every single day in the morning. This song, as well as basically all of Red Vox's, helped me relax before a stressful day of school, and helps me deal with shitty thoughts crawling around inside my head.
i'm 3 months on testosterone therapy after my abusive ex made me get off it for 7 months when i was 6 month in, and i got my first voice drop back on while singing this. until the very end, it's just the right vocal range my cords can handle as they're changing and i almost literally sing it once a day, usually while at work on deliveries, so thanks, vinny. hoping to grow facial hair as legit as yours, man. (and as a side note this song feels underrated. it's among my favorites but those are getting harder and harder to pick. great job guys!
I am two months off estrogen for the first time in 15 years as an intersex person and singing along to red vox albums, flawlessly hitting the notes is one of the only things keeping me going right now. Three cheers for testosterone! Much gratitude to the band
I dont know if thats intentional. I always thought this song was a song about David Bowies tragic passing. Especially because of how fucking emotional it gets at the end, and how Vinny talks about "How much you had to show me" and how he was taken before his time. That said, I shed a few tears. Also I keep seeing you in these comments. Kudos.
+Belisarius oh i know it's about him, i'm just saying that part has the exact kind of melody for one (though i don't know music theory). it's also the melody vinny heard in his dream so it makes sense it sounds like something you'd associate with nighttime
And beyond that, the main thing they taught us in recording school was "you can't make a shit band sound amazing", you gotta start with something good to make something great.

It sounds like the character goes through an existential crisis and then immediately afterwards gets thrown into another after his idol David Bowie dies?

Wow thats... im speechless
Incredible
A beautiful love letter to David Bowie
i've started picturing this as a response to Stranded, a regretful ballad for an astronaut whose distress signal was found too late.
You have a message from the stars. It says: The Jahns are invading.
I don't get it, can you explain?

@@AliC202 wait, how do you listen to Red Vox & not know who Vinny is
@@MitoNova583 cringe dude
I'm really glad they changed the placement of this track on the album at the last minute. It works so much better after Memento Mori.
Out of curiosity, do you know what it was originally?
+Kenneth Gronemann It was originally after Forgive and Forget
Wow. You're right, it wouldn't fit there given the story of the album. Thanks man.
Man...when i heard vinny had a band i expected some silly shit, but this is amazing work. Definitely needs more recognition.

Blood bagel has some pretty funny lyrics to its tracks.
same
Yeah, they're serious about the band, it's some good shit too.
I'm not exaggerating when I say this. I have listened to this song every single day in the morning. This song, as well as basically all of Red Vox's, helped me relax before a stressful day of school, and helps me deal with shitty thoughts crawling around inside my head.
Listening to this and in the garden is a practically a daily ritual of mine
Vix
I experience the exact same thing with (nearly) the entirety of Red Vox’s work.
Vix For me, Red Vox really helps me with my insomnia. It's just a comforting sound, that helps you out.
kattastic9999 Yeah, that too. I was listening to the new album last night while falling asleep.
I discovered red vox during my final exams and nothing helped me deal with my anxiety more than listening to these songs lol
3:13 makes me really emotional to me idk why. This song is so powerful
Finally, this song has a place to live!

the intro/main chrous melody sounds a 100% like a lullaby now that i think about it

I think this is my favorite song right now. Not just my favorite red vox song, no, my favorite song. Period.
It's like nothing I've ever heard before. It came to vinny in a dream so that might be why
In my opinion this song has the best guitar solo ever.
VINNY SWEEP🔥🔥❗❗🔥
Vinny these are amazingly mixed and mastered, and thats before I even get to the feeling of your music
I know right? Joe Pecora did *AMAZING* sound work on this album

Favorite Red Vox song
God damn it, this is making me feel so many emotions. This whole album is just amazing. I cant even articulate it properly. Just... amazing.
My #1 favorite. God, I love this song!
Mista why'd you have to go and ruin Narancia's stereo?
this is currently my favourite song in existence and the melody was composed by someone's dream
3:01 and suddenly i'm crying

Well, this song is a Bowie tribute...
I NEVER EVEN FUCKING REALISED THIS WAS VINNY HOLY SHIT, I KNEW IT SOUNDED SIMILAR
