I’ve had a dream like this before. For me the song Californication kept playing in the background as I got trapped over and over again. Now I can’t listen to that song without feeling that overwhelming sense of dread I felt in that dream.
Might have been scarier if the protagonist was a woman-although, in truth I don’t know many women who would venture into a tunnel late at night alone-maybe, if she packing? 🤔 I’d like to see more of your work Andrew. Thanks.
Great concept! I viewed it as a metaphor for relationships, when one person becomes so emotionally stuck in a personal issue that they can't progress beyond, while the other person can no longer relate to them or emotionally recognize them and is forced to move on, even though they still love and miss them. From a gay perspective, this also doubles as possibly something to do with going back in the closet and being unable to "come out", due to his invisibility and inability to communicate with others. It's something that some closeted gay men sadly become trapped in and can't move beyond.
@craiggie1628 It still seems insignificant to me because gay by definition means men with men instead of women, it is a different way of having sex. I don't think it needs to be a big part of someone's personality, like people say. For example, why would you feel like there is a barrier between you and your mother because she doesn't know how you have sex/who you have sex with? The same with friends, siblings. You can be a weak/soft male ('gay') but I don't understand why you need to clarify who you want sexually to someone or else the relationship is impaired
@@nd264u7 You're looking at it solely from a sexual perspective. There could still be a barrier between you and your mother, friends, and siblings because they may wonder why you don't have a girlfriend, aren't getting married to a woman, having children, etc. There are many other social impacts, including having to hide your social life, activism, and political interests. It can impact self-esteem, including being ashamed or self-loathing. Also, being gay isn't just about sex but also about love. You would have to hide one of the most significant relationships in your life. It can create significant complications and strains if one partner is out but the other isn't. But I think your reference to "weak/soft male" reveals a lot about your understanding of what gay is.
Excellent. And, finally something that does not involve big grinning mouths, jumpscares, and all the usual boring stuff used in 23.456.983 productions. Thanks!
These tunnels are under freeways in the San Fernando Valley. There were two near my home in Sherman Oaks; one has been closed off. They were already spooky in the late '60s-early '70s! The rough texture on the walls is new, they were polished concrete before.
It's not like the guy could really do anything to help him out of that tunnel, or else he would most likely get trapped as well. So he was lucky to move on.

It's like the character is so anonymous first of all like u see it an average guy jogging going for a little ride who gets lost he gets trapped in a seemingly unescapable tunnel he just gets stucked there and no one else can hear his cry for help. But whats unsettling and fascinating is that theres someone out there still looking for him, still staring into that same tunnel cause thats the place they last saw him or sense him to be, they know he crossed that path at some point but they cant see him. This elicits the notion of having known someone and then all youre left with is this idea about them that keeps hanging and keeps you hanging round those same places in search of something thats probably no longer there, yet you keep at it cause it just haunts you. It's about loss, the loss and change. And memory. And places. And disconnection and incomunicability. The separation and leftovers echoes
This was good film! I enjoyed it; it really gave me chills! I feel like in a way this could symbolize procrastination, like you just keep letting the work pile up and no matter how much of it you do, how hard you work to get to the end, its just endless. and in a way it can also seperate us from friends and family because of how lost we are in the work.
Not a single shot wasted. Awesome concept and story and not a second too long. Just kind of wish this turns out to be a trailer for a full length film, I want to know more about how what's going on here!
Just spellbinding and bone chilling!! It's a big screen material and if it'd be possible anyway I bet everyone would be as petrified as am still now even after the end shock in this little gem of a horror movie!!

I imagine this is the same concept as a backroom entrance. Where you clip through a different reality. It's a terrifying thing to imagine that it's not secluded in one space or one scenario
Amazing
I can feel his tension how badly his eyes wren king for out of the tunnel😢
Great example of how simple things going horribly wrong can be terrifying.
Never ending tunnel... no escape.... but seeing everything you love....creepy as hell......
New fear unlocked: Tunnels
Well done!
I love the Dutch tilt at 2:21
Reminds me of the old silent hill games. Psychological horror at its best.
this is still a perfect short. It's always those that just make you to want know more but the answers are never reachable, just like this tunnel
I've cracked it. His problem is not the tunnel, but the camera angles. Everytime he's about to get one of the tunnel ends, the camera changes, and he's in the middle again. So his solution was no changing camera angles.
Thats called a horror short films more scariest then so many bollywood and hollywood movies scariest hysterical and the most suspenseful thats why story line is enough in horror movies even its totally ok if you dont show the makeup ghost its all about storyline hats off to your team
Kudos ! ❤
So sad. He never made it out I guess. As soon as I saw that tunnel before he went in I was shouting: "Dude Don't go in there!" This was a really good short; very simple but effective. And I already have a thing about TUNNELS sheesh!

My guy no-clipped straight to the backrooms.
Legend has it that man is still trying to make it out of that tunnel
One of the saddest endings I’ve ever seen.
That was totally some Twilight Zone stuff!
Dope.
Awesome short story! Wonderful plot! Love the unexpected ending!
Awesome work... 👌
fascinating new concept, good use of psychological horror & thank you for not including cheap jumpscares!
This makes me feel more sad than scared. Sad for that couple
The laughter wasn't needed. It implied a conscious effort to trap the runner which isn't necessary for the sense of unease. Raises questions never answered that would be best left unasked.

Fantastic! It feels like one of those dreams where you keep getting trapped over and over again.
By chupacabras?
like triangle 2009 movie 😜
Yikes! I don't be having those dreams, thank goodness! My recurring dreams are ones where I find myself really really high, climbing something like a train tressel or the worlds highest chain link fence. I come to a point where I have to do some simple maneuvre, like climb over the top of the fence to the other side, and Im suddenly gripped by panic and terror. THIS makes THAT look like a walk in the park 😬
@@poutinedream5066 Damn that's a pretty bad dream! I wish we could at least pick a scenario every night 😂

I love films where inanimate objects take on a life of their own and become characters. This film does exactly that. Excellent!
I’ve had a dream like this before. For me the song Californication kept playing in the background as I got trapped over and over again. Now I can’t listen to that song without feeling that overwhelming sense of dread I felt in that dream.
Credo 😮😮😮 tá repreendido
The lovely day at the end was even more scary and sad
Starring jerma985
Might have been scarier if the protagonist was a woman-although, in truth I don’t know many women who would venture into a tunnel late at night alone-maybe, if she packing? 🤔
I’d like to see more of your work Andrew.
That's a great analysis!
Does it hurt emotionally them to not tell people theyre gay
@@nd264u7 Yes, it can. It can create barriers, both internally and externally, because they have to hide or suppress a significant part of themselves.
Good eye! We shot this in the Glendale/Burbank area.
Is this the same tunnel used in absentia movie? Love this and that film
It's not like the guy could really do anything to help him out of that tunnel, or else he would most likely get trapped as well. So he was lucky to move on.
Legend says he's still stuck in that tunnel to this day, kids dare each other to go into the tunnel and say "Yo, where the beef at?"
Great film, it really gives a person the chills. A person can walk through tunnels like that with never a care, until that one time. Spooky!
Fantastic short. Great plot. Loved it.

Wow. Haunting and heartbreaking.
Amazing 👍lot's of love and support from ur new subscriber ❤️ keep going my friend 😀
This is a good example on how to make a horror film, whether it be full length or short. You don't use jumpscares, you use atmosphere for the setting and let the creeps vibe in to do the scare on the audience

Before he even went into the tunnel, I guessed what was going to happen. Predictable, but still a very cool concept.
Watch the 2011 horror movie “Absentia” a tunnel full length horror movie- great movie
An endless loop? Not the best kind of horror but still scary.
Great stuff! The concept is conveyed visually very effectively.
Just spellbinding and bone chilling!! It's a big screen material and if it'd be possible anyway I bet everyone would be as petrified as am still now even after the end shock in this little gem of a horror movie!!

No jumpscares? I love it
legend has it that he's still running through that tunnel til this day.
I am here panting about the amount of thirst he is gonna feel after that long jog inside that scary trap...
