I’ve got a camera out there and I do get traffic but I am not sure they’re feeding on them as much as I anticipated

    • @d2eoutdoors
      @d2eoutdoors 3 года назад

      The smaller acorns the less acidic. Usually Pin oaks, white oaks,red oak ,and chestnut oak. In my area it’s in that order

    • @devinglasgow7300
      @devinglasgow7300 3 года назад

      They do. White oaks are the holy grail of acorns. Next would have to be red oak, find an area with both species dropping and your getting warmer. Just bc the area “looks good” doesn’t mean it is. Find the sign, I prefer to hunt the travel corridors vs food sources. Oaks flats can be massive and good luck finding the one special tree without flooding the area with your scent. Find the bedding areas and get between it and the food, obviously only hunt when the wind allows ALSO pay special attention to your entry/exit to your stand.
      PS. What most people call a “pin oak” is actually water oaks. They are the first to drop and will continue through several months. Once the whites and reds start you can forget about the water oaks.
