  • The Güpgüpoğlu Mansion is the oldest house in Kayseri, built between 1419 and 1497. Additions and changes were made to the building until the 18th century. The mansion was mentioned in Evliya Çelebi's travelogue (Seyahatnâme) when he visited Kayseri in 1649. In 1976, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism expropriated the mansion, which opened to visitors in 1998 after the Ethnography Museum was relocated here.
The mansion's Harem section is divided into two parts: the Selamlık and Haremlik. Haremlik is designed as an old Kayseri House and features mannequins to recreate domestic life. The Selamlık section can be accessed by a staircase with stone steps and wooden railings and now serves as the Ethnography Museum.
The Ethnography Museum displays a collection of artifacts from the Turkish-Islamic period in the Kayseri region. The collection includes tiles, ceramics, weapons, wooden and metal objects, manuscripts, carpets, rugs, clothing, jewelry, and ornaments. Additionally, the museum exhibits Islamic tombstones and stone decorations in its garden.
