The problem, at the end of his career, was Jimmy Johnson. I love Jimmy because I am a die hard canes fan as well. However, telling your veteran QB to stop audibling and forcing him to run stretch run plays when the poor guy's legs could barely handle that was ridiculous. He also ran two man route plays out of the play action with a terrible running game. The play action pass doesn't work if there is no running game. Great coaches take what his players do best and complement his players' skills. Marino could still throw it. He had a lot of injuries during that time because he had the worse offensive lines at the end of his career, but he could still throw it. Watch the videos. Just compare Marino and Elway's last 4 years in the NFL. If you draw parallels between Marino and Elway's last 4 years in the league, the difference was the team around them. Either way every other Elite QBs in the league right now has Elite weapons on there offense as well. Murray, Dak, Maholmes, Rodgers, Allen, Backer. They have more or less are on par weapons with Tampa Bay weapons. But most fans don't want to give Brady credit. There's always some excuse to excuse Brady. When Brady has clearly been the common denominator. Pats this year has top 10 defense but are still struggling to win games at 2-4. Coming from a Steelers fan I get that I’m biased however we had gone 16 games without over 100 rushing yards and we now have two straight which means something is improving even if it’s very slight and Ben hasn’t looked as horrendous the past two weeks. Jesus bless y’all.
Ben is certainly diminished though not washed as the current notion is out there. That being said, I think this is his final season, Pittsburgh will move on and he will be forced to retire.
The fact that Namath made the Hall of Fame really discredits the institution. Some deserving player lost out on his HOF bust just because Namath played for a team in New York City.
Your info is slightly off about Favre. He missed the start the week prior against the Giants because of swelling in his hand (a game played at Ford Field due to the Metrodome roof collapsing). He played the next week against the Bears as mentioned, got concussed (because there weren't any heating coils under the field yet), then missed the rest of the year.
If Joe Flacco had retired a Raven (hell, even after the year in Denver), his number would probably be retired. Now, Hollywood is associated with the number, and Flacco can’t even keep his 5 in Philly.
The worst part of Favre's downfall is that had he could've retired a year earlier and gone out after one of his best seasons. Instead, he came back after yet another will he/won't he retirement saga. It's really a shame that Bountygate occurred, because he was playing quite well those playoffs before he got concussed against the Saints
Namath (after FOUR knee surgeries) managed to convince the Rams to put a clause in his final contract that he was NOT ALLOWED to be sacked more than (once?) a game (and with the Rams truly awful offensive line, that was PRAYING a lot) he would be PAID, he got his money but just to watch Namath HOBBLE onto the field was painful.... BUT HE GOT PAID!

Granted I'm sure Brady himself is at least pretty good on his own, but those receivers might be an even better receiving corps than he had in 2007.
@@andysee6996 Its funny because this is truly the first time that Brady has Elite weapons.
He's won Super Bowls with 3rd and 4th string WRs in reality. The only true HOF player Brady as won with was with Gronk.
When he got Moss he broke alot if records but didn't win a Super Bowl of course.
Brady comes to a 7-9 Tampa team that's been massively underachieving with Winston who had the same defense in 2019 as the 2020 defense as well.
In Comes Tom Brady and instantly made them a Super Bowl Champion.
I'm 90% sure if Brady was on the Pats right now they would be 5-1 or atleast 4-2 because Brady elevates the players around himm
Wins and losses are a function of the team you're on. Look at Marino, one of the best ever. Having said that I'll admit I think Brady is THE GOAT, and that he's cemented his status winning with multiple teams, and not always having the greatest talent around him.
@@andysee6996 he recruited alotta people don’t forget that Bruce didn’t know of or really want or need so it is true if Brady had weapons like Peyton or joe people would say he was only good because of his weapons
Roids
I can tell this was an attack on urinating tree in the yinzers.
Too bad about Marino. If ever a QB deserved a SB ring is Marino.
I was at that Bears/Vikes game. Cold as all hell!
Joe Namath was probably the best pure passer with the best mechanics of all time, unfortunately for him he had two knees that were beyond repair
Would you do a series about sports around the world that are big in countries or regions that people might not know or ever heard of
Well In Ben's Defense if he were to retire before the 2021 Season the Steelers would have been screwed over financially due to his contract so he had to play out the final year of his contract. Also he is no where near throwing as many ints as Manning or Marino did in their final seasons.
and his receivers keep dropping good throws
Meanwhile Tom Brady at 75: *the empire marches on*
The tackle that injured Favre would've been flagged nowadays
It was brutal.
Are we going to ignore the sound effect after him saying “a happy ending”?
"Yeah"
-marshawn lynch
And the Jags still haven't been to a Super Bowl.
People making such a big deal about Big Ben, like this doesn't happen to every aged veteran
And like it isn't the brand new O-Line barely giving protection, he's literally getting hit on quick passes. The last two weeks when they did just marginally better, he improved the same.
Cam Newton seems like a good candidate for part 2
He hasn’t retired yet
I think the Legend condition prohibits his inclusion from this series
He’s not a legend
@@saintsforever3751 broke records early, put Carolina on the map, had a magical 15-1 season. Yes it ended in disappointment and his career wasn’t the same after the super bowl and his lingering injuries. If he isn’t a NFL legend, he sure is a panthers legend in my book. If only he learned to be an accurate QB…
@@alphadelta3964 yea maybe a panthers legend for taking them to a super bowl but I wouldn’t really call him a nfl legend if he never got hurt dude could of still been a starter
Haha, FivePoints is never gonna let Bob Kraft off the hook for the massage parlor thing.
It never gets old.
This the best football channel on the Tube. 🙌 ⬇️
Big thumbs up for the “slow, white Bronco” joke. Glad my boy Marino (Dolphins fan here) decided to retire as a Dolphin instead of signing with some other team.
Marino was never given a consistent running attack to keep opposing defenses off balance.
that or a good defense. The 49ers in the Super Bowl just exploited the hell out of those linebackers and they just couldn't keep up with Roger Craig out of the backfield.
@@redmustangredmustang I'm not necessarily saying that they would have beaten the Niners but Marino would have probably seen more superbowls with a better running attack.
@@karlcooper8460 Marino's best and really last shot was the AFC Championship against the Patriots in 1985. The Pats had n't won in Miami in years and the Patriots just totally ran all over the Miami defense. This should have been an easy win for the Dolphins, but it wasn't. The AFC championship against the Bills in 1992 was no contest. The Bills had the Dolphins number when it came to playoff games.
Great to see Brady avoid this kind of ending
Lmao that happy ending joke was so good.
He wanted a happy ending 😂😂😂
5:16 *WRONG-O.* It was against the Bills and *Arthur Moats* hit Favre from behind, injuring his shoulder 🩹
It may have been ugly, but at the end of the day Peyton Manning walked away with a Super Bowl ring. It’s the other Manning brother, who belongs on this list
Eli doesn’t he was mediocre his whole career, but in the playoffs for some reason he played like a elite qb
@@saintsforever3751 for two years at least. Every other time he was one and done
@@saintsforever3751 he doesn't even have a winning record
I'm still trying to figure out how Eli won two Lombardis, but I'm glad he did, especially the first one.
The actual video starts at 1:39
Roethlisberger's stats arent as bad as the ones on this list, but his arm and mobility, which were once phenomenal, are all but gone
Loved hearing that joke made at Rub'n'Tug Robbie Kraft's expense!
Video idea: Coaches who did well in the NFL, but were bad college coaches.
Rod Dowhower is number one on that list.
Kliff Kingsbury might make that list.
lovie smith
Mike Singletary
If you swapped it around for coaches who were bad in the nfl but good in college then nick saban
"Manning looked like OJ and Al Cowlings: a slow white Bronco." 💀
Slow white bronco line killed me haha
I would’ve hurt myself if I saw Drew brees on here. Thanks FPV
Can’t wait to see Big Ben on this list next time a vid like this is made.
Well In Ben's Defense if he were to retire before the 2021 Season the Steelers would have been screwed over financially due to his contract so he had to play out the final year of his contract.
my dad was at SB III so that shows you how impossible of a ticket it's become lol, I always told him how important it was that the Jets won but they were rooting for the Colts lol. Oh well a week in Miami
Hey at least Big Ben had one more playoff appearance before the end if he had a decent o line this year I think it would have been more similar to how he played in the 2020 season
I can Brady making his way on to an updated version of this list in 10 years...
Big Ben: If you duct taped two sticks for arms on to..the winner of the "Fat Bear" contest.
If Joe Flacco had retired a Raven (hell, even after the year in Denver), his number would probably be retired.
Now, Hollywood is associated with the number, and Flacco can’t even keep his 5 in Philly.
Flacco got carried by a elite defense
The worst part of Favre's downfall is that had he could've retired a year earlier and gone out after one of his best seasons. Instead, he came back after yet another will he/won't he retirement saga. It's really a shame that Bountygate occurred, because he was playing quite well those playoffs before he got concussed against the Saints
Farve was a warrior dude kept getting up
Love the paid promotion's brother!!!! Best commercials ever....
How about Snake struggling in Houston?
It still hurst to see Johnny Unitas in a Charger uniform.
Man Tom Brady is gonna take everybody's soul.
can all talk about Brady doesn't deserve all his rings and wins, but still able to produce consistently couple years older than anyone on this list, this alone he is the goat
Put Joe Montana, Dan Marino, or Troy Aikmen in today's NFL, then put Tom Brady in 80s football and we'll see who the GOAT is. Brady benefits from a soft league and refs that coddle him. He wouldn't survive in the 80s or 90s Era of football, and if QBs of those times had today's rules they would have put up ungodly numbers. Brady isn't the GOAT
@@MrStretchification Tom Brady was, is and never will be top notch in terms of athletic abilities. There are constant talks of making trades for a better skilled QB in New England the last 20 years. What made Brady great is his decision making, consistency and staying out of injuries, those are far more important to build a franchise than having a 2-3 years wonder
Some guys just don’t know when to hang ‘em up… and some teams are just delusional about their over the hill QBs… it’s kind of sad.
Hey Five, would you be interested in doing a stadium vid about F1 tracks?
I wish Bret woulda won it all his 1st year w the Vikings. Beat Green Bay at home, got cheered still...woulda been a great storybook season had he gotten past the Saints and won it all. Cuz that 2nd season was horrible
Manning’s last run compares to Dilfer’s Super Bowl season. A lot. Bad Manning was premiere Trent.
I know it's not a QB but Emmitt Smith playing with the Cardinals was sad.
Dear God, I would like to forget seeing Emmitt Smith in a Cardinals jersey.
To think so many people coming to Jacksonville never knowing that once upon a time the Jags were actually contenders and didn't need a league wide injury bug to help them. Nor would they know the Jags were undefeated in 1999 if the Titans didn't exist and they sent off Dan Marino with an absolute thrashing. On a side note this makes me wish they'd sign Frank Gore just so he could break Emmitt Smith's all time rushing record.
So many you can put in here. Jim Kelly, Drew Brees etc. And maybe once Brady is in his 50s and he starts slowing down he’ll make this list as well
Only problem with Brees was he kept getting hurt and his arm he could still throw deep but only a couple of times then his arm turned to a noodle, sucks how he finally got a defense when he was near the end of the career
@@saintsforever3751 yeah he deserved a better send off than a playoff failure with no fans in the stadium
Marino making the playoffs is better than those ranked 4,3, and 2.
That last season of Marino is still probably miles better than a host of QBs we've had in Miami this century.
I'm not surprised that Dan Marino is on this list
1:39 to avoid the ads I pay RUclips to hide
brees, eli, maybe cam if he retires for pt2
If farve didn’t throw that pick and if AP didn’t have butter fingers like really all i remember is AP fumbling a lot which was rare for him. Which forced it all on Brett Farve and we all saw how they ended up
I remember the hit on bret it was a nasty hit
I kinda wonder what would the 2015 Denver team had looked like if Tebow was still the starter..
But No one can respect women the way Big Ben does
