Funk is a way of life!!
I’m proudly “JUST A KID FROM AKRON “ that’s how we grew up in A-K-RON! growing up in my city chilling with Desla Cannon me Lamar King (R.I.P.) these two were Mike’s partners and we always enjoyed him as well as his Jackson family. May God give comfort to the family in this time of need and give them the strength to be able to be stronger together. He will be missed!🙏🙏🙏

Such an admirable man! I have watched the Jodeci Apollo '95 performance many times and noticed at some point they shouted out "Michael Jackson" and I thought they were being silly just shouting out King of Pop, but they were talking about this brother here. Happy to see he's alive and doing well. Jodeci, Mary, & GAP Band are amazing and some of my favs, so this man here is something special to be involved with them creatively. 💖

HOW THE FUNK CAPITAL OF THE WORLD IS FIGHTING TO KEEP ITS LEGACY ALIVE IN DAYTON OHIO!
    Stephen StarrJUN 19 2019.
When Dayton’s The Funk Music Hall of Fame & Exhibition Center - aka TheFunkCenter - opened in December 2017, locals delighted in it marrying a proud musical tradition with hope for the revival of a city long down on its luck. Built to celebrate the Ohio city’s reputation as ground zero of the funk world, the center drew volunteers and experts from the Netherlands, Japan and the U.K. and superstar names from Dayton’s 1970s and ’80s funk scene, who pieced together the decades-old instruments, records and memorabilia on display. Tickets to the opening ceremony sold out in days.
