I highly recommend no timing meter. Has helped me tremendously with timing on returns, also the big ass bar is an eye sore haha
I like this off until I'm serving. I found leaving meter on but turning power circle off helped a ton. Too often I wanted full power and trying to glance up at meter at same time is hard.

It’s funny watching you struggle through some of these matches. There’s a Yputuber named Tmartn2 that just studied the tutorials aka training for matches . He tires out the cpu by having the m running back and forth alot; I’d recommend trying that.
On a gameplay level, anyone know why almost all the shots from both players are landing in the service box (ie with little depth?). Seems like the verticality of good tennis strategy is being under utilized here. You can time the ball perfectly but if youre not hitting it deep, closer to the baseline, youre not pushing the opponent back (ie giving them less time). Anyone know if this is a player-level issue, an aiming mechanic, or a power mechanic with timing? Because Mr. hound, if u can master those deeper shots, your ops are toast

What are you playing on?
One thing you're overlooking is the height of the ball when you hit it.
If you hit a ball really low, it,s hard to hit a good shot. When you're at the net, it s hard to even have it go over the net if you hit it at your feet.
That s why you get surprisingly bad shots even with perfect timing sometimes. You should consider your movement prior to hitting the ball so that you hit it when it s elbow-high.
It makes perfect sense if you ve played tennis irl.

You don't have to go all the way to the Green ! You can save energy by hitting it good!!!!!!!

There should be separate characters for offline and online. So your offline character can only uppgrade in offline career mode and online character only online play.
