Well, in the northern region of France in an area called Brittany, Jean-Yves Bordier does butter one bit better. Using three different types of seaweed, Bordier’s butter brings a special salty earthiness-one that has won over some of the top chefs of our time.

I tried this branded seaweed butter and it taste extraordinary. I haven't try it on bread yet, but I've tried adding in my mushrooms to make mushroom soup. Tastes just like buttered mushroom soup with a hint of seaweed.
Will totally buy it again if .. I have more money XD

I went to visit his shop in Saint Malo last year, absolutely to die for butter 😍 they will mix it right in front of you with a variety of different things!
I love having studied French for a few years and being able to understand what was said for the most part without the subtitles, also the line at the end was great lol

I use a brand of sea salt - seaweed salt - that has kelp and dulse in it (instead of adding an iodine compound to make it meet the federal standard for iodized salt). I sprinkle it on just about everything I put salt on, both in cooking and at the table. It's an easy way to add a bit more nutrition to my daily diet. I like it best on hot buttered popcorn. Is there any place in the US where I can by Breton seaweed butter?
Anyone who loves the sea can invariably and instinctively know when they are near the ocean without ever seeing or hearing the waves. The smells change, the skies change, the winds change, the salt is palpable. The same goes for butter fats where briny seaweeds are present. It's like buttering your toast on vacation.

Sea vegetables are suppposedly very healthy, high in vitamins, potassium and iodine. Some people don't care for the way they taste...but trust a Frenchman to mix them with butter and make them into something delicious!
