Either way, it is how it is. Also he's really hard to play as, so it does make it really rewarding when you defeat your opponents with him.
Sure he has a lot of options and mixups, but overall his game plan revolves around getting damage with grenades, throw combos, and c4 along with damaging multi hit aerials, and then to kill u use c4, Nikita, down throw, and uptilt. And most snakes, even good snakes, don’t do more than the bare minimum to get this done. One character shouldn’t have the best edgeguarding tool and probably the best tilt in the game. It forces every snake to constantly play non committal with everything but dash attack (which is of course frame 5 and relatively safe with partial invincibility)... and don’t get started on the best ledge traps in the game. His only real weakness is landing and sometimes recovering which he has mixups. Honesty for me, the only hype thing about snake is his fair and combos into fair. Other than that, 90% of what happens in a game with snake happens in every other snake game almost to a t. Throw as many grenades as possible, try and combo off it it Up throw uptilt for 30% Use dash attack as a zone breaker to hopefully get them off stage Nitkita to kill, upsmash at ledge to cover 4 options by itself, or set up grenades and c4 to force an option If that doesn’t work, hopefully you can run around enough so the opponent forgets to avoid the 4 foot radius of c4 to kill. And when all else fails, use a frame 6 uptilt to punish your opponent even thinking about getting near you (oh and that had no lag so uptilt, dash, uptilt is a viable strat much of the time) You literally are required to play snakes game every time you play him because of the frame 1 combo breaker and anytime you interact with grenades as small as period, they give you hitlag giving the opponent time to react and it gives u 12% and whatever else the snake player throws in. I find him very boring to watch even after just 6 months of the game since a quarter of the games online in elite is just him and carbon copies of the exact same play style.

the trampoline has 3 hits. its not jank or tricky. Its really good for protecting against stage spikes. This is the trampoline doing its job and took no extra effort from the player... I use it to save against stage spikes at least once everytime i play for glory

And it took how long for Lucario’s too find out that kind of recovery? Probably not too long but honestly it’s not the hardest thing to do and I always do it too people because it is almost impossible to react too if you jump off and Bair immediately when you stick. You can also drop off ledge and stick to the wall so you get “Extreme Speed” back, do a back air or air dodge jump or Aura Sphere. Wall snapping is a great way to recover with Lucario from Up-B or the ledge.
As cool as it was, it kind of made me a little sad because it just reminded me that Yoshi will probably never get a recovery clip of his own, despite being on the receiving end of gimps and edge guards all the time.
I like how often its the case that the person recovering will take a stock after getting on stage. Just goes to show how important defending the ledge is.
