    The plauges were direct attacks on different Egyptian Gods.
    Water to Blood: Hapi (god of the Nile).
    Frogs: Heqet (frog-headed goddess of fertility).
    Lice/Gnats: Geb (god of the earth).
    Flies: Khepri (god of creation and rebirth).
    Death of Livestock: Hathor (cow goddess of love) and Apis (bull god of strength).
    Boils: Sekhmet (goddess of healing) and Thoth (god of medicine).
    Hail: Nut (sky goddess) and Shu (god of air).
    Locusts: Osiris (god of crops) and Set (god of storms).
    Darkness: Ra (sun god).
    Death of the Firstborn: Isis (protector of children) and Pharaoh (considered a god).

    You know, as a Christian my favorite thing is listening to PKA explain the Bible and Christian history poorly. Because they aren't going to even get basic things like what happened in exodus and how the Bible came to be right.

    • @jaquandrejones
      @jaquandrejones 3 месяца назад +2

      In Ephesians 6:5-8, Paul states "Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ". 😂😂 too funny that God of yours 😂😂😂😂 what a guy 😂😂😂 real Christian history is so important 😂😂😂😂

    • @evanpedri
      @evanpedri 3 месяца назад

      @jaquandrejones look at that. Someone again completely not understand the Bible and thinking they have a good point. The Bible is literally the first writing against slavery. It is hard to tell if you are reading it in English, and the English translations can be pretty trash. After all, they are 2,000-4,000 year old laungueds attempting to be put into modern English. A great example of this is in the Old Testament. The word slave is used a lot, and the problem is that it's not slavery. These people had rights, and it would be more accurate to translate it as servants. In fact, the Old Testament law is against slavery and put in many provisions to make sure slavery doesn't happen. Then, in the New Testament, there is a book that directly addresses the issue of slavery. See, the New Testament was written to Romans and Greeks, a culture with a ton of slavery. So Philemon was a runaway slave. Both his master and him converted to Christianity sortly after Jesus' crucifixion. The letter is one of the biggest authority figures in Christianity very gently and politely telling the slave owner that his slave is his brother and is to be treated like a brother.
      The verse you brought up is just general advice for if you happen to find yourself as a slave. Because you know you have no rights and power. So what is a slave supposed to do? Get tortured or executed for running away or rebelling in a culture that had absolutely zero issues with slavery and saw many people as less then human?

    • @GeorgeRamsey22
      @GeorgeRamsey22 3 месяца назад

      @@jaquandrejones Buddy, Ephesians is written by Paul firstly, and to clarify: Paul is not condoning slavery here, just speaking to those who happen to be in it. The Bible has several points within it that paint slavery as an evil. The exodus, book of Philemon, etc. You don't have to condemn a practice to instruct those suffering from it.
      (Insert obnoxious laughing emojis throughout entire paragraph)

    "It would be a much better religion if you left the first part out."
    I fail to see how removing the reference points for much of the new testament would improve it. For instance, the words Jesus utters on the cross do not hold anywhere near the same weight unless understood as coming from the OT Prophecy.

    • @Alex-vm6ef
      @Alex-vm6ef 3 месяца назад

      It's bc their idea of a good religion is one that is comfortable + affirming, rather than challenging + requiring sacrifice. People want to be God, "this would be better if the part I don't like weren't involved" is fr insane narcissism in this kind of realm. People project the non-existent importance of critiquing a show on Netflix onto every aspect of life today.

    Just want to take this opportunity to say that the God of the Old Testament and New Testament are the same God. God didn't change as he is the same eternally. God hardening Pharaoh's heart was something I struggled with for a season but through reading and understanding the Bible more all the supposed contradictions, or indications that God promotes slavery or isn't all good are not coherent when you look at the big picture. The bible isn't a book but sixty six books some of which recount the same events from different perspectives.
