The black and orange looks soo much better than the pictures online! And now I'm going to have to order a whole bunch 😂 thanks for the look at this one John
I really like the RR fox series knives, I have several of them from each series. Have a question, from what series is the sowbelly that is in the center front position of the drawer in your intro? The shield looks like a comet or maybe a key hole. Thanks John, love your content.
The Fox series knives are great! The sowbelly is an older Rough Ryder model RR881 Amber Smooth Bone. The shield is similar to a bishop chess piece. Thanks, Jack I appreciate the kind support.
They offer the Artic Fox white version in a Congress, not sure if you;e seen that one. ruclips.net/video/lQ4GxQ_lKP8/видео.html&pp=ygUYYXJ0aWMgZm94IHdoaXRlIGNvbmdyZXNz
Hey TK Loving all these FOX SERIES KNIVES!! I have some of all 3 series, I would say that they average about an 8 or 9 out of 10! I guess what I am saying is I like them all and I plan to get them all if I can. Great review as always!! Thanks for sharing brother 👍
Not bad at all, considering my favourite pattern is the canoe, the copperhead comes really close. Better a fox on the handle then an R on the bolster, as they say. Thank you John.
Hey, TK, this is off subject, but I know that you like stockman...check out Kershaw Brandywine Red Bone 4382RB in D2 at CKW. They list it as 7cr17mov but it's D2, I just received mine today and ordered 3 more (Christmas presents for my boys).
My only concern would be the pull strength. Kershaw has let me down before with weak action on their traditional style knives. Thanks for the tip, Tony.
Great review Thrifty! This one is going on my wish list. Love the slideshow at the end. Brilliant finishing touch! Say, is there some kind of story behind the spelling “Rider” vs, “Ryder”? Or, is this some kind of corporate slip up? Thanks and keep your great reviews coming.
Recently is was relayed to me from SMKS's Brian Wilhoite that they intend to use both spellings. In the early days it was Ry, but they had some lehal issues with using that so went to RI, once the legal thing was cleared up they went back to Ry. Now they use both.
One thing I don't like about Rough Ryder's is they are too thick along the cutting edge. I like full flat ground, but Case does a good job with their hallow ground
plus, if you get it from smkw and there’s a defect they will literally IMMEDIATELY ship you another one no questions asked and you keep the original one. i got a fucked up case sodbuster and put in a warranty claim and haven’t heard anything and i put it in on thursday last week. got a RR today, had a crack in the acrylic and they said “what’s your order number we’ll take care of it for you”
Lol.. i would pay twice as much of it was made somewhere else.. I'm not a knife snob but I remember a Huge mess about 3.5 years ago.. so I look but can't buy them.. smh
@@ThriftyKaniffy i don't doubt that.. I'm just stubborn .. but I have for decades always looked at alternatives before I bought anything made in China.. just way unfair advantage in manufacturing process.. i come from manufacturing the u.s. has tons of rules and regs but china not so much.. sorry for the rant.. i do enjoy the videos though.. i really like pretty knives.. I agree, not nearly as dull as the online photos. Thanks for your support partner.
Always like any copperhead. Thanks for showing.
I'm glad you enjoyed the presentation. I'm a big fan of the Copperhead pattern. Thanks for watching.
Good looking piece! Thanks for showing it off, buddy!
I'm really glad you enjoyed it, David. These series of Fox knives have exceeded my expectations.
Hey John,
Really like this one.
Liking the whole Fox series for that matter.
Thanks for the look brother😎👍🏻
I do too. I think all three series have been well done. You're very welcome, Sean.
Of the three series, I think this one loos the best. Great video my friend!
You like the orange huh? Cool. Thanks for watching, Randy.
@@ThriftyKaniffy Maybe it's just because the series shows the layers well compared to the red on videos.

The fox series is one of the best for RR, Nice color combo with the scales and liners, thanks for showing it, TK.
They make for a unique look, I've been happy with what I've seen from all the different Fox Series. Take care, Jose.
Very nice blade, thanks for sharing brother ❤❤❤
You're welcome, A2B2. These are a nice series of knives. Have a great weekend.
Nice great looking knife! One of my favorite patterns! I'm liking this series!!!
The Fox series knives have been really well done. I'm looking forward to some different patterns. Thanks as always, Mike.
I like the colors. Red micarta looks so good 👍
Thanks, Michael.
I really like that satin finish. It would be great if Rough Rider makes a congress in this series with satin finish on those blades.

I need to get this line of knives very nice. Thanks Thrifty!!!
Thanks very much American Made. These are really great budget knives. The Fox series have been a fantastic addition to the RR line.

They've all had some great patterns in their individual series. That would be a nice collection to own. Thanks for watching, Terry.
Enjoyed the review and thanks for sharing. Very good looking knife & pattern. I don’t have any in the “fox” series but that may change😃
Thanks, Doc, they are good value fro money. Attractive too.

Very true, I'll take a Fox over a Rectal Thermometer any day. Thanks for having a look Jeroen.

@ThriftyKaniffy well, mine isn't a nail breaker. It's about on par with my Case stockmans, about a 5-6.
I forgot to add that CKW has it for $18.71
I actually picked up the Barlow at SMKW last week and it’s pretty good but one of the back springs is proud when in the closed position
Sometimes they are that way. I don't mind that as much if it is smooth when in the open position. Thanks, HAKD.
Love these fox series!
They did a great job on the micarta.
Good stuff as always, brother👊🏻
They look great. Great blended layers. Cheers, Tim.
Modern ol' timer knife 🗡️ Good review TK. I'd prefer to pick up an old un for a few quid at a market.
That would be fine by me as well. Thanks for your comment, Robert.
That's a nice knife so far I only have the Rough Ryder Red Fox mini Trapper I like how they did them with that red in the handle! 😊 👍
Okay it's Desert Fox I was saying it wrong 👌
They have a Red Fox series and Desert Fox (Orange) series. Thanks Timberwolf.
You're right I got the Red Fox your welcome Thrifty good video nice knife! 😊 👍

Nice . Even with the flaws , for $ 15 .00 a good value .
Great review .👍
I agree, not worthy of complaining. The handles are fun and lively, a great addition to the RR Fox family. Be well, Michael.
Orange underliners are cool
Adds a splash of color, doesn't it? Thanks, B.

Thanks for watching, Justine.
Quality with RR seems less of a dice roll than it is with Case. Nice knife.
Well you don't have to wager as much, that's for sure. Thanks, Thom.

Nice knife that series looks great
They are very attractive. I got the package today, Uriel .Thanks so very much for the knives. Incredibly kind of you!
Nice , what other RR Copperheads do you have in your collection ?
Quite a few, Prop. Here's a look at some of them ruclips.net/p/PLvdfWDRYpNrkJrFgHu0PVp_64uXwN43WR
Nice looking knife
The Fox series knives are really nice, Jim. Good stuff from RR.
How’s the steel? I never had one
Not bad. Very easy to sharpen and holds an edge reasonably well.
Nice liners
Thanks James. Pretty cool.
I missed the memo...why is Ryder spelled with an "i"? Are they going backwards?
Thanks TK
According to insiders at SMKW they are using both spellings concurrently. Why? No clue.
That’s a foxy little knife. Even with its flaws, not bad for $15. 👍🦊🔪
No, not bad at all. Most of the Fox knives have been even better than this as far as F&F. Thanks for taking the time, RadioGeek.
That is sweet
Right on, Jeff. Foxy.
@@ThriftyKaniffy yep
The Erwin Rommel edition.
Yea they probably didn't consider that connection did they. Thanks, Bear.
