The point is that he didn't just do the jumping, and if you're one of the people who think that karate doesn't work, then I suggest that you watch Lyoto Machida and Stephen Wonderboy Thompson. Both elite fighters that primarily utilize karate techniques in Mma. Of course they are Mix Martial Arts fighter, they train and incorporate other techniques from other fighting styles. But the point is they use karate, and it works. There are other fighters that doesn't have black belts in karate but incorporate karate techniques in their fighting arsenal such as Connor McGregor and henry Cejudo. Other Mma fighters that have background in karate are GSP, Kyoji Horiguchi, Robert Whittaker Michael Venom Page, Raymond Daniels. Karate does work if someone properly practice it. Not every person who practice a martial art such as karate need not be an elite fighter. Anyone can practice it for self - defense and physical fitness.

@@mahitham5454 it had a heavier emphasis on like kickboxing and judo, cuz the coach was a kickboxer and his wife did judo, but there was also another coach that came on Wednesdays and fridays, he was a pro boxer and taught us how to box and throw proper punches But apart from judo, there wasn't much more grappling But other mma gyms may have a bigger emphasis on boxing instead of kickboxing and wrestling instead of judo and bjj I think it depends on which style/styles suits you For me although im learning karate atm I prefer boxing for sure for my striking And i didnt do any like proper actual wrestling, i did judo and i didnt like it, so i need to find a gym that offers proper wrestling 😂

Yeah this is about right. Takes a while to get use to those different stances and techniques but then when you practice in kumite, makes it a lot smoother
Hello! I am now preparing for the European Championship here in Antibes. I have been doing karate for 3 years. I'm a little green belt (9 years old) and I'm already there as if I've been doing karate for 10 years ;)
For me we did for my first week a mix of white belt and brownish belt stuff since I was the only white belt there so we basically did punches, front kicks, roundhouse and back kick and then started doing basic kata.
Its been 3 years for me and im still stuck in district champion ships UGH 😭😭 THIS THINGS SUCH A LONG PROCESS I SWEAR i cant wait until i play national but the thing is ive lost a couple of time but when u do lose it hurts more than getting beaten up ...

I did 3 years of boxing and 1 year of mma, unfortunately both stopped due to covid,
