I run my AI models locally and I'm disappointed that NextCloud is not going that route. I understand it adds complexity, but the entire point of something like NextCloud is to replace the cloud, not build an ever-increasing dependence on outside services. I do not allow my NextCloud installations to leave the LAN, so I'll be disabling all this crap because it won't even work for me if it's using the internet. Long-term, crap like this is going to move back to rolling my own local network websites like I did 20 years ago instead of using a catchall like NextCloud.
@@mainStream-user I can saturate my servers uplink no problemo, it’s more likely your uplink I guess? Optimising Nextcloud is no easy task though, it takes some figuring out. It took me six weeks but It loads just as fast as any other page for me
@@cheetahstrike2137 WebDAV is incredibly slow, at least for small files. They would need to refactor it without the use of PHP, just like OwnCloud did. OC 2.0 is really interesting.. haven't had the time to check it out yet.
@@cheetahstrike2137 I can also max my 200mbps upload speed, the webpage loading on the other hand is slow in part because of the unRAID filesystem and me installing it using the AIO docker on the array, it has a cache SSD enabled but it doesn't help. Any tips on what you did in your system to see if I can do the same?
Dude your background is actually soo soothing to watch. The colours together with your yellow sweater just look so nice!!! I don't think that I know any other channel that handles the background so well.
5:08 the new picker actually DOES help you find your existing documents. For example, you can use the picker to insert a picture from Files into Notes. You can ALSO use it to interface with the new AI stuff. It seems like they want to use the picker to link all the different Nextcloud apps together. Probably that quote was meant for the entire picker not just the AI image generator
As one who runs my own NextCloud server: If they integrate AI in it it will get wiped directly. I have no use for it and I'm able to think myself, take my own photos as well as type.
The visual quality of your videos has gone up 100 folds when compared to just a few months ago. Great job.
Thank youuu

In the forum page it talks about local AI similar to either chatgpt or stable diffusion
I don't care about these features, nextcloud needs to figure out proper security before wasting time on AI integration.

Hmm, i'm not a developer, but when you talked about having a natural language engine for KDE, I was thinking why not make it use d-bus?
That's one option, though I'm not sure if I'm able to find enough documentation to feed it

KDE does have an API . It's just the terminal.
I mostly use NextCloud as a file server - I have no need for AI.
You have such a beautiful accent mate!
Is there any way that nextckoud would show the date the picture was taken and not when it was uploaded or modified?
Good job!
We need a next cloud version of clippy but it’ll be AI enhanced
I mean if krunner just had gpt integration. I would be blown away. Sadly AI's are most likely privacy nightmares.
Well, it would be super easy to implement, and I think there's an applet already
There's some small scale toaster assistance project, not as big as Chatgdp but you can actually run it
@@niccoloveslinux there is and it works well, but its basically just the webbrowser applet it seems. just with a hidden URL-Bar
