This is the first ever macrame for beginners video i have watched just now. Though I'm not new to it very much having knotted a bag along with my mother about 45 yrs ago, that's all I remember - the double knot. I'd like to know how to make a purse or pouch using macrame. Other than double know i have no idea whether it uses crochet or simple stitching to finish off/ close the article

Hi! Are you referring to the double half hitch knot? If you check out my channel I have a few free bag tutorials that goes over different ways using knots (macrame) to close them off 😊

I was shocked the first time I heard it pronounced what I will call the 'non-english' way, as we say mak-raah-may in England with the emphasis on the middle syllable 😅
It was Aurora Teagarden's mother who said it the way I'm hearing it via RUclips. But I think it actually sounds nicer their way - rather like french. Is it a french word perhaps? 🤔

Only the square knot was clear to me. The double half hitch knot was not at all clear. Her fingers moving look smooth and pretty, but i have no idea what she did and i cant follow it.
Beginner instructions need to show a step by step stop.

you left out a whole bunch of info on the double half knot it went from you completing the second side and jumped to a place that had a row of knots already tied..? frustrating to a beginner. That's me. Please try to KNOT (lol) do that.

@@emilybump7606 If that were the case, then why the jump cut? Based on the rest of the video, she knows how to edit, so the two parts spliced together are meant to be together. It just looks like a bunch is missing.

Little tip for you. Go to the gear menu, playback speed, and choose a speed that's faster (like 1.5). You can also make it go slower if you want. You can do this with all videos on youtube. You're welcome.
