@@RVsbladesnthangs Thank you brother! Glory to God in any and all success that comes to this channel; God bless and thank you for being here with me 🙂🙏
@@IanZ_Forge I've been working on a knife that I'm calling my "Bluegrass knife" but I caught covid and that slowed me down. But almost getting to 1k Subs has been frustrating 😆🤣😆🤣
@@RVsbladesnthangs Thats awesome! I look forward to seeing it 🤠 and I know that feeling haha; well I hope you’re feeling better! Best of luck with the build 🙂🙏
@@Kkurosh03 Hey! Thanks so much! And I typically buy steel from New Jersey Steel Baron; IMO that’s the best place to buy steel for the modern Knifemaker in the states! Thanks for being here! God bless - Ian
@@APs.Custom.knives Thank you for watching it! And yes thankfully; I pull the equipment out of the space but thankfully no noise complaints on forging yet- that being said I left my hydraulic press at the other workshop for space reasons and noise 😬
@@APs.Custom.knives Thank you! And if it’s worth anything Id recommend trying to either build one or pick up a used one at an estate sale or on FB marketplace; sometimes you can get them there but if nothing else Coal Iron Works 12 ton is pretty solid too
awesome work! I hate making those finger holes on Blades lol my OCD thinks its not perfect when I'm filing it even though it probably is!🤣 my I ask where you got that clip for the sheath? I found some on Ebay but there not anything fancy like that one!
@@NMForge Thank you man! And I feel that haha! As far as the clip it’s an ulticlip 3.0 I think; I ordered it on Amazon as I needed it within a few days; you may be able to find on cheaper elsewhere
Perhaps, if you are actually trying to help those out here who are watching to learn technique, you may consider mentioning the grits used, and the steps from rough to polished piece. Most downhardening to see the project go from rough to almost mirror finish in one click,
@@busterhyman103 Ah alas this is fair; noted; on the next one I will go in more detail on that portion of the process. Not to make excuses, but I feel it’s worth mentioning I’m trying to figure out how to keep things interesting with each video and not bore those watching who have seen my other videos. Because there are so many repeated processes my aim is to try and capture each one in more detail from video to video. In this case I tried to emphasize the handle portion more than usual as well as show the leather work process for sheaths. I certainly glazed over the blade part as the past couple videos I have discussed it in greater detail. I will do better next time to explain the whole process in greater detail. Thanks for being here, God bless - Ian
@@busterhyman103 Also for sake of this specific request, I use 80 grit for my rough grinds and then immediately jump to 120 grit for refining them, before using a scotch brite belt to give the final polish
I would’ve loved to see the beauty that sword would’ve become

@IanZ_Forge I need to find a nice inexpensive small press. Very cool that you are able to keep at it.
