  • A neglected DeLorean getting a new lease on life. I filmed a walk-around video while the car is waiting on new parts.
Due a phone call at the end I had to cut the video short.
Back to the Future jokes posted as comments will be deleted.

Wow she’s came a long way since last time I saw her. Keep up the good work man.

I have one just laying around gathering dust , needs a lot of work , I won’t finish it , probably be getting rid of it to make space , had great intentions but not anymore

I've saved a fortune in maintenance on this one by not doing anything with it; parts costs are becoming too impractical for the trouble of a restoration.

Too much work for me at the minute, but I may go back to it at some point, was painted black and I stripped the paint. Any advice how to regrain the stainless, can’t find any good videos on regraining...

Sorry for the delayed reply; the best advice I can give is a flapper wheel. Whether you buy one or make your own, they do a wonderful job on bringing back the finish.

How much did you pick this thing up for? Been looking for a restoration DMC for a while

    • @DraculasCars

It was a trade deal; can't exactly put a purchase price on it since I traded things to get it. Rough estimate would be a current investment of $4k if you include acquiring it, the things I traded, etc.

@@DraculasCars That's a heck of a deal! Good find man. The price of even rollers is absolutely insane right now.

Without a doubt; but that's what 15 years of dealing in DeLoreans gets you.

@@DraculasCars Yeah, I'm sure! Got any suggestions on where to look for project DeLoreans, or is it all mostly who you know? It seems like most cars getting sold are immaculate for $40k.

Start local; talk to people. Many were stored away in garages back in the '80s as "investments" and are just coming out now. You may also want to consider placing an ad in your local newspaper.

    Needs an LS.

      @DraculasCars  3 года назад +2

No. If I wanted a car with a LS, I'd buy a Corvette.

@@DraculasCars Sorry, LS > PRV. Every way, shape, and form.

I didn't say it wasn't better; only that I don't want it in my car.

@@DraculasCars I mean, hey, if you prefer slow, low horse power, generic Volvos that sound like misfiring lawnmowers, more power to you.

    • @DraculasCars

I prefer to keep a rare, low-production car with its original drivetrain. That is something the LS will never be and I will never swap it.
