Dracula's Cars
США
Добавлен 3 ноя 2008
A collection of vehicles relevant to my personal interests; some are kept for my personal collection, some are sold, but all are bought solely because I want to. I wish it were a living; but it's a hobby and a passion.

1971 Cadillac Coupe de Ville - Faded Southern Sweetheart

A newly-acquired '71 Cadillac that is as charming as she is distressed. This car deserves to be saved and driven. She's going to need some work, but it'll be worth it.
1980 Cadillac Sedan de Ville - Should I even bother?
Просмотров 1302 месяца назад
The 1980 Cadillac Sedan de Ville is not a desirable car; project cars, even less so. A nonrunning project? There's, maybe, me that is interested in it and you who's here watching me mess with it.

Replaces V12 due to concerns of relaiblity. Replacement Chevy 350 doesn't run or idle. Genius.
Almost as genius as my decision to buy a cheap Jaguar.
Damn, looks like someone dumped dexcool in it
I'm just hoping that a single flush is adequate. I'd wager it hasn't been done for at least 10 years.
I'm going through an alternator replacement with a 1993 Eldorado. Looks very similar. Thank You for posting this video!
eco friendly coolant flush
It's offset by the fact that it's a 46-year-old car, so it has less of an environmental impact than most modern cars.
needs about 3 flushes,lol
Not gonna lie, those front tires look done. They should have been rotated long ago to try and even out that kind of wear
That's less than 10k miles of wear and the manufacturer has an 85k-mile warranty. If the tires are aggressively worn that badly and missing chunks; since I know my alignment is good and the car has under 115k total miles, then it has to be a defect; which is covered under the warranty that they refuse to honor.
@@DraculasCars try Michelin defenders. They seem to actually live up to the manufacturers life expectations
Definitely going to try something new because it's not like the hearse gets driven hard. It speeds half the year sitting and had 91k on it when I got it two years ago.
To be exact; I got those tires in August of last year. They've been on for 14 months.
Im a LED headlight guy, never go back to halogen or that yellowish color....the make seal beam look factory but there leds
I'm convinced that people who complain about sealed beams have never had theirs properly adjusted
I check the no beams when a full moon is accessible ❤
gonna get squished when those harbor freight jack stands crack lol
Then I die doing what I love; working on junk cars.
@@DraculasCars just get better jack stands
I had a 4 door 71' caddy in cypress green with the green vinyl top, lol, was my first car
I had a '71 coupe in Sausalito green that was loaded compared to this car. They drive great and that's why I couldn't resist picking up this one.
@@DraculasCars oh yes! Nothing compares to the way they drove. Not to mention that 472 under the hood! The robbed them of all their power in '73
Yeah, cool story. It's nice to see small parts that little off and understand why they that way
No trunk lock, that should have came standard 😊
hearse jumpscare
That's my summer vehicle for triple-digit Texas heat; the AC is like a meat locker. It's also convenient for moving furniture and large grocery shops.
Nice find!! I agree with you, it's just about as 'base' level a Coupe Deville as you could get. I'm betting the driveshaft missing is one of the biggest reasons it exists tho, otherwise it'd have been used up. She'll clean up beautifully, acres n acres of that nice yellow!
Now that the driveshaft is back in, I'm going to get the fuel tank installed and see about getting her to stay running. They likely pulled the driveshaft to trailer the car down here 30-something years ago and never reinstalled it.
@DraculasCars Here's a quick idea that may help: Try a quick shot of pressurized air into the tank(like from a tire Cheetah), say 40 - 50 psi, to somewhat pop the tank back off the pick up on the sending unit. Might or might not work, but short-term, it's a lot cheaper.
Nixon's the One!
I love period bumper stickers on cars; always worth a smile.
Clean up slip yoak with emery cloth or you will wish you did later
I am having a similar issue. I can’t track it down. Its on the same side as yours. Adjusting my valves has not helped. I don’t know what else it could be.
I've got the car with Rob Grady now to diagnose said issue and I'll let you know ow what he said it was in a future update.
@@DraculasCarsI'd appreciate that. Have the exactly same noise on the side, and for the life of me can't track it down. Checked exhaust manifold, rocket arm clearances and ... nothing. Really interested to see what Rob says.
Looks like rust repair is starting to be expensive - if it's anything like a Chrysler Newport from a few years earlier , the underside( especially in the torque box area) could be scary.
Unfortunately, this car was too far gone to save. It was a Wisconsin car all its life and it rotted from the bottom up and out.
I would not recommend this way on the 03 model was a nightmare ended up dropping frame and motor and having to pry open a gap to get out would have been easier the right way
So glow plug relay is always hot and switches ground instead of power. If you have ground going through i wonder if its constantly applying current to your glow plugs. If so theyre probably all blown out
Hey bud, I’ve got another 83 Chrysler imperial like the last one I traded you. Interested?
Always; for the right price.
Great video and awesome car no doubt. However that key buzzer is twice as loud through the recording then in person.
Fun fact: This is the voice of Len Spencer, a very famous recording artist from the 1890s to the 1910s. When he died in 1914, they actually played this at his funeral next to his casket.
That is an awesome fun fact.
You can leave the key in the ignition but back it out a couple of millimeters to shut the buzzer off.
Not on these cars; if the door is open, the buzzer sounds.
Had to stop watching the video, take the keys out of the ignition!
The buzzer sounds if the door is open; regardless of keys.
Beautiful car! Can't wait to see it cleaned up.
I drove a 71 Cadillac for 11 Years from new. Absolutely the best car I have ever owned...
Could you PLEASE take the key out of the ignition before recording next time - distracting as hell!
The buzzer sounds if the door is open; design flaw.
Key switch is either stuck or shorted. The buzzer absolutely should not sound if the key isn't in the ignition.
Love these long land yachts.
Hi are you selling the stainless molding down the sides and the front tips thank you kindly
No; I sold the car. I don't part vehicles out.
now that is a true southern belle, a bit rough, but she's got the beauty where it counts.
Good example of what happens when a cool car ends up in the hands of an idiot
Does this work on a 03 looks different
It should, but I'm not 100% certain. Still, worth a shot.
@@DraculasCars it was nightmare on 03 lol
Thank god it can be done this way
Upgrade 💪
Amazing how more solid the doors on the Mercedes sound than the Lincoln...Needless to say the wood looks much better ion the dash than the plastic in the Lincoln
My ac compressor just went and it lead to other problems. Def don’t let it sit
Great engine and great truck I have my 94 f350 7.3 idi and I drive it more then my 23 f250 the older the better it’s got 225k km so it’s got about 140k miles lots of life left
Thats a demolition derby special! Get it running and off to smash other cars with it. Then off to the scrap yard for an easy couple hundred bucks!
Probably the best use for a car like this; no value when restored, only worth a few thousand if immaculate, and no shortage of them since they made this style for nearly 20 years.
Hey man I have a 79 coupe deville it has 43000 miles on jt all original and it’s been sitting for 15+ years I replaced everything starter battery alternator fluids and I’m about to buy the carberator is their any advice. U can give me to make sure that that car stays with me for generations I’m 18 and I really love that car
They're very simple cars; regular maintenance and use will keep them around for years. That one sat for nearly 20 in utter neglect and came around. You should have no problem. Replace all the rubber as well; belts, hoses, etc. and you'll have a reliable car.
Thank u sir I appreciate it
They were just Land Yachts!! But their engines were used in many transplants!!
Car does sound good❤ Ice cream sounds good also ❤
W😮W, ISN'T THAT ONE MEAN MOTOR SCOOTER 😍. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL 👍 I'D ROB 3 BANKS FOR THAT BABY 💰💰💰. . . j/k 🤭.
Rare too, only 1878 made in 1966 with a price of $5733.00
Fewer still made with the rear AC.
Wasn’t this shown in opening scenes of the 1960’s TV series, Man From UNCLE
One of the greatest cars
Funny how you couldn’t Give these away in the 60’s and 70’s!!
Umm what do you mean, you couldn’t give them away?? First of they were a about 2x the price of others and then. If your talking about the Fuel crisis that was the late 70’s!
You can her it guzzling a gallon of gas with every rev
