I'm now disabled and I'm unlikely to ever be able to walk around these beautiful lanes again, so imagine my joy at seeing a great deal of the area. Way to go, keep up the great work x
In the 1970s before we had children my husband and I would pick an area and do a coastal trip for about 2 weeks staying in B and Bs. One of our trips started at Robin Hoods Bay and ended at Seahouses. We always picked up fossils or interesting pieces of rock. Still have them all in a display cabinet. Better than photos as I can remember the joy we had finding them on beaches. We used to travel in our pride and joy - an MG Midget. Wonderful memories!
Love Helen , she’s so patient with you filming and wanting to go back to pub. She’s such a sweetheart after all this is her time off from a stressful job . I hope she’s ok , walking can be painful when you have trouble with your hip. Lovely place, really beautiful.. thank you 🙏
Tell you what James you are a very lucky man. What a life you have and Helen is what every man dreams about. Good luck to you both and keep entertaining us with your outstanding vlogs 👏 x
James please don't worry about being 51 get yerself in the rock pools. There is so much I wish I could do now but can't and I'm only 60. The saving grace is you and Helen take me to places I can no longer manage. Live and love life ❤❤❤
@@michaelserrechia6463 I do understand. If someone had told me three years ago, that I would become disabled and unable to walk, I would never have believed them. Always thought I'd be one of those eccentric old ladies that are still hiking, way into the "golden years", blowing past younger people on the trail. I never thought in a million years this would happen to me.
Robin Hoods Bay for me is the quaintest and most magical seaside village in England. .A must visit when touring around that area. Cracking vlog James and Helen. James has walked up some super steep hills around that area lately. Runswick Bay,Staithes etc.I bumped into some Germans last year up there who had driven from Germany to fossil hunt at Port Mulgrave, just a bit further up the coast..
Another fantastic vlog of the beautiful Yorkshire coast, I love the little iggledy piggeldy streets and houses they look so quaint but brings me to wonder how the heck did they build them all? Getting equipment and materials there and goodness knows about the furniture, Can't wait for the next one stay safe loads of love xx
James these videos are great videos, can’t wait till you both travel abroad but for now all these coastal videos are fantastic, we have followed you since day one and are so glad your followers are just growing and growing. Keep it going and as always don’t give any of them jealous troll’s the time of day 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Tea Toast and Post is really good, ran by a great team, very friendly with an 80’s vibe. Loved it! Very erratic opening hours which adds to the charm. Do go if it’s open!
Fab Tales and views from Robin Hoods bay. I felt that cold weather. The coffee and cake was my favourite. James when you said you looked like Brad Pitt I thought you said Gravel Pit 😂. Lovely to see Helen again you guys always have a great time together. ❤
Eh up James and Helen . Great to see you ventures in Bay. I lived there 7/8 years as a kid and have played up and down every ginle and street. Shame you did not touch base with Andrew. You should have turned left on the slip way you would have found loads of fossils and Jet. Robin hoods bay to Whitbyillions of years ago was a monkey puzzle tree forrest. Those trees made the Jet ( black ). So so sad to see that commercialization has changed all the shops for tourism . Not the same as it was in my day. Thanks for you blogg. .Liove to both x
Thank you so much. For me, there can never be too many visits to this place. I agree that it is one of the nicest villages in the UK, having so much history. Thankfully, up to now retaining its character despite some holiday homes. I have many associated happy memories but won’t manage to get there again so this is greatly appreciated. Thank you again.
I love Robin Hoods bay and had many a happy holiday, staying in Staithes and Whitby, thank you for a trip down memory lane! I read Dracula one holiday as I think Bram Stoker wrote it either in Robin Hoods bay or it was inspiring to the story. Hope you and Helen are had a lovely holiday xx
Evening James and Helen loved the video Robin Hoods Bay one of many beautiful places up and down the Yorkshire coast. Makes Saturday night that much better, much appreciated ❤
Great vid guys. Honestly Helen is my kindred spirit! I could spend hours with her, we’re so alike.. I’m like a child at the beach. Never change either of you . Your both great 😉
Been to Robin Hood's Bay loads of times coming from smoggy land when I and the children were younger there is no way I could get up that bank now lol loving your content James & Helen .... I would love to visit there someday ❤. Wish I had gone when i could still walk; in a wheelchair now but I loved you taking us along with you! Helen, never lose your child like wonder! You're a very lucky man, James. 😊
Went last year down that bloody hill ,Neary done me in coming back, thank you both for going off main road and showing all back streets, I might give it another go this year .will be 81 keep ambulance on stand by 🤣🤣.
I love the area but never been to this particular place. I love the general feel of the place, it's so pretty, but as I get older I start thinking of living there, logistically.. Those little lanes are beautiful, I just think of carrying my shopping or getting deliveries, especially furniture etc. I also don't fancy those hills and steps 😂, but that's because I have a crappy back! I love the fact it's so well preserved and still lived in. It's definitely somewhere I'd love to go. I'm also a fan of Helen's jeans, and I'm a straight married woman not a pervy person lol, but they're very nice, and well fitted! Thankyou for helping me to live vicariously, while I'm not physically able to do it! 💖
Regarding the smugglers of Robin Hoods Bay. In the late 1700s, there was a splinter gang that used to bring birds to the United Kingdom. The gang was known as The budgie smugglers. Loved the video, James and Helen. Oh, yeah, I totally made that up for a laugh 😂
Just watching ur video and can honestly say its brill! Ive never seen all those quirky little passages and beautiful homes until now! Ive only been around the beach area years ago. A pub landlady I used to work for in Colchester about 20 years ago recommended visiting RHB when she heard I was planning to go to Whitby & Scarborough - great tip ! What a fascinating little village, though when I went there was an awful stench of rotting fish when you got down to the beach ! If Helen loves fossils, you must both get down to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset one day (no rush, it's been there for millions of years so another couple won't hurt!) The whole area between Poole and Exmouth, just across the border in Devon, has miles & miles of dramatic coast to explore, but Lyme Regis is a particularly lovely old town to visit and I believe they have a famous fossil fayre each summer where Helen could chip away to her hearts content, alongside other enthusiasts and experts alike.. The Isle Of Purbeck area is also stunning , especially the brethtaking Man O War beach - on a hot sunny day you would think you were in the Greek islands ! ... Look them up ...
