7 years later but it seems like a lifetime with Covid and other changes since 2017! Just wanted to say I hope you and your family are doing well. Your stories remind me of my grandparents and the stories they used to tell. All but one are gone now so some nights these videos help me remember, and I hope they'll help my baby daughter when she's old enough. God bless!
I was born in 1970.. you'd think we were past the hard times. Let me tell you, we weren't. I remember going to the woods in deep snow and dragging logs of trees back down the mountain and up to the woodpile, where my uncle wood saw it up, as I sat on the other end. Then we'd split it and carry it in the house to pile behind the kitchen stove in the corner. We had a pot bellied stove in the living room and we did the same there. We had an outhouse up until my sister went out one night and there was a raccoon in there and soon after that we finally got plumbing into the house. We'd still have to carry water every winter cause the pipes would freeze or bust. It really was hard times compared to the comforts of today, but we never thought nothing of it then. We had woods for wood and a spring for water. Two huge gardens that God blessed us with every year. Those were the best days
