Defenses have the Cardinals offense figured out after six games. It’s Kingsbury’s responsibility to make adjustments to counter that but he doesn’t seem to have a clue. Kliff is the one who should study more game film, not Kyler
Honestly to me he comes off as a spoiled brat that always gets his way Now he's going to have this big contract looming over his head and he won't live up to it.
And he got his way - again. Should have called his bluff and made him play another year and prove it. Worse case scenario he sits out and proves he's not the guy and you don't sink the franchise. Instead......might battle the seahawks for 4th for years to come.
The fact this is in the contract tells us the Cards know this guy does the bare minimum preparation for games if he's not at the facility being forced to do so by the team.

All of this can be automated so it’s not like someone is sitting there watching him. Let's hope they actually do it and hold him accountable. Young folks are resourceful and he seems like the type who would look for a way to try and get away with something.
Listen to an interview of any all-time great…Ray Lewis, Deion Sanders, any of them. They all talk about how much film they studied. That’s the difference between talent and all-time greatness.
What a humiliating revelation about Kyler. I didn't have much respect for him before this. Now I have zero respect for him. He's a child, physically and mentally. I cannot believe you'd give this much money to a guy with maturity issues this severe. What a joke. You had to pay the guy because he is talented and he is your best option currently, but to give him this much money... Jesus, Cardinals. This is why your franchise is a joke.
If Kyler is such a child, that speaks volumes about how far below him the Cardinals are as an organization that he can arrive and without even trying make them the best they've been in 15 years.
He's a spoiled brat. For the Cardinals having to do this shows how spoiled and immature he is. To be legendary you have to go that extra mile. That is what separates the great ones from those who are talented, but that is as far as it goes.
Or even to be (given his established talent) really good, good enough for a deep post season run, possible SB to be at least reasonably responsible aka do your job, it's not a right but a privilege to be paid well to play a game. Perhaps Brady / Brees crazy obsessive focus not necessarily needed for satisfactory success. Greatness / Perfection not reasonable to expect. So yeah, agree with comment.

They totally enabled his BS by paying him. What exactly has he accomplished that he's justified in pulling this kind of Diva behavior. I can't blame them for putting that in writing. They should start looking for his replacement right now, just in case he continues to be problematic.
Agreed. He didn't have any leverage, he was under contract and whilst been a v good QB, he hasn't achieved what a mahomes or a Jackson or even burrow has at comparable times. The Cards should have made him prove everything he listed in that BS essay he posted about himself.
I wish y’all would use your brains and understand that it’s a business.... you think they’re going to go without a QB? Kyler was going to get paid by somebody if the the cards didn’t the whole team is built around him.... how could they not pay him? Not pay him and do what?

I just hope it all works out for the cardinals because if it doesn’t , it’ll be a gigantic failure
@@WearyKawhi I get it's business, but to me, there is mounting evidence it is bad business for the Cards. He has behaved immaturely very publicly (social media campaign). The need for this clause tells me the Cards have concerns over his maturity and his last game...he completely imploded. As his team has the last few years. Maybe that's a KK team problem but surely a truly great player rises above that, or at least look like they are trying. He is a good player. No one is doubting his talent, but it is obvious he has traits that are causing concern. The Cards obvs gambling he will grow up. I personally have reservations.
By this time, no coach would be able to instill the work ethic needed to be the top QB and win playoff games into this guy. He is what he is and is unwilling to change. The lack of his work sure showed in the 2021 playoffs. Jeez, he looked like a college QB. He just wants to play football, show off, then go have fun until the next game. Just imagine what he could do if he put in the work like Josh Allen or put in the work with a receiver like Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp. Natural physical talent and luck will only take you so far. This is what you are going to get when you pay a 21 or 22 year old millions before they've done one damn thing as a professional. We will see more and more of this if Murry isn't led up as an example of how NOT to behave as an NFL QB.
Correct. In the second half of the season, teams figured out Kyler and how to stop him. Kyler did not do his homework so he did not change his game. Then Kyler faced McVey and the Rams in the playoffs. Coach NcVey studies film day and night and looks at every angle to gain an advantage. Kyler was too lazy to study. The result was totally predictable.
While I agree that kids getting that much money that quick has a good chance of making them lazy. I think kylers issue is he knows he could do other things to make money even if no football team wants him. I mean a professional gamer isn’t going to make a lot of money but sponsorships for them make more than enough. Or a baseball contract where he doesn’t need to watch film.
Us Rams fans love this contract...give him 10 more years. Kyler couldn't handle pressure before, now he's has the pressure from the expectations of that contract. This is going to be an awesome trainwreck to witness (gets out popcorn).
I don’t think Kingsbury is at fault for not “inspiring” Kyler to watch the tape, despite Rich’s talking point. Kyler knows it’s a QB’s league. He has all the leverage and can tell the coach to screw off

Kingsbury saw first hand the couple years he was there. and I do think he's a good coach. I think in the end with Belechic and Brady. The coach should have swallowed a bit of pride and said in private, ok Tom obviously you proven yourself, what do you want and need and we'd like you to retire a patriot. This kyler kid thinks he's already all that and above all of that and he's the bomb. and now they've paid him. Stafford basically moved in with Kupp and spent the entire season together. I bet they do 4 hours of film together A DAY. Not a week, each day. And it paid off with no look passes in the super bowl. Murray cant be bothered to finish his only playoff game. Guys lazy and a quitter.

Kyler gives me a Willie Beamin vibe. I wouldn't be surprised if he declines from here, not because of his talent, but because his team will be unable to attract and/or afford other superstars in the years ahead. Kyler has shown that his success is directly effected by the players around him, and if his preparation is in question with them, results may vary.
They were lucky to acquire Hopkins. Watt I would’ve said yes maybe 8 years ago at his prime but yeah I hear your point. The fact of the matter is, his team can only carry him so much and ultimately like some of the commentators have said and have to agree with “Studying, even if it gives the slightest edge to you, can make or break a game.” And it’s so true, getting paid the money he does, if he doesn’t produce results come this new extension, whether they know he really studies or not, will make or break his NFL career honestly.
This is crazy, they rewarded A guy who does not study and plays video games in his spare time. The Cardinals deserve what they Are going to get which is nothing!! No playoff wins!!
Pretty insane what this infers given the low bar to clear here. It infers Kyler spends next to no time independently preparing for the next game. Interesting he could breach his massive contract by spending less than 4 hours weekly. Just wow.
No..NOT implies. Kyler did interview with New York Times stating he did not watch a lot of film. He said he had a God given ability to see the field. Wow...talk about arrogance.
It is not going to work. 0 - 3 to start this year. This will blow up in both team and players faces. You guys are gonna love it when the courts get involved.
They could have traded him as well. They took a qb in the 12-15 range with multiple red flags and paid him like the #2. I don’t think Murray will ever win anything major because his ego is too big

Time for Kyler to grow up and find strong mentors to listen to 100%. Maybe time to move his current advisers to the back seat. Also, no more high school wins talk!
It makes sense now why the Cardinals always start hot and then implode towards the end of the season... Kyler doesn't show up prepared, but his opponents do.
I don't even care for Kyler Murray, but I think it's absurd that Kyler's agent let them put this clause in there. He should work harder, but he should also get a new agent. Why are you letting them drive the narrative that you're lazy? You said you felt like you were being scapegoated, but here you are letting them scapegoat you for the future. Kingsbury should be under the same scrutiny as Kyler. He's a college coach who's proven exactly NOTHING at the pro level. He happens to have the same agent as Kyler and I think this is him putting in protection for himself.
They're going to use a program that monitors apps open and also uses the front camera to monitor facial expressions and eye movement. Similar programs are used for online test taking for colleges.
Guys like Brady and rodgers would have multiple days worth of film study each week. Not just multiple 4hr days but 24-30hrs of study each week plus team activities. You don’t get to their levels of success and be doing the bare minimum. As they say here in Australia. The players are paid to train and prepare. They play for free because they live it. It’s the prep that is their job.
Before this contract if you so much as questioned Kyler’s work ethic in any space with Cardinals fans you would get torched. A handful brought up the red flags but for the most part you were ambushed. This is vindication for all those who have been calling out this man-child’s bs for awhile.
can you imagine how lazy and indifferent this guy is that they have to go to such extremes to get him to study 4 hours A WEEK. tom brady studies 4 hours in 15 minutes! what a terrible signing. cardinals are absolutely finished now with all these teams committing suicide, giants future chances look better and better
In the end this clause will be meaningless. The team will be too scared to enforce it. Unless they’re trying to get rid of him. There’s no way they wanna upset the franchise qb
I am so sick of people saying the Cardinals had no choice. They absolutely had a choice. The fact they paid this guy when they had to place that into his contract, what a joke. Let him sit and not play and not get paid and go get other players for what you are paying him. What a bunch of 🤡🤡🤡🤡
I would love nothing more for him to break this clause and give the cards a reason to drop the contract. Imagine losing 9 figures because you couldn't be bothered to study a few hours.
I am friends with a father of a Ravens player, and he has told his father that Lamar Jackson is the same way. It's more important for Lamar to get high and pick up girls at the mall than practice, and the coaches can't do anything about it.
Wow!!!! Makes me wonder if Lamar jackson new contract will have this same type of clause in it . It’s just a bad look all around honestly because we’ve never seen this with any other QB before !
@@illmaticthis I bet it's a lot more prevalent than we believe. These guys have multi-million-dollar contracts, and they know coaches only have so much power over them.
Underproduced, underachieved, had a terrible final game in the playoffs. Yet he gets overpaid and then gets upset when asked for accountability. Am I talking about Ben Simmons or Kyler Murray?
Perhaps the biggest weakness of Kyler's game that I've noticed is that he plays the. whole game like he's down 3 touchdowns. Not enough patience, not playing the field position game, going for the big completion downfield when all they need is 6 for a first down. Not sure if watching more tape can help this, problem but it might.
This problem is why he falls apart in the second half of the season. He can’t make adjustments because he has no clue what to adjust and he won’t study what the coaching staff asks him to study so teams know exactly what he is going to do and pummel him because he won’t adapt.
Congratulations Young man you got your money. But you are going to be under a huge microscope the pressure is going to be bearable for you to produce every snap every game. Let's see once and for all if you can get Arizona Cardinals not only to the playoffs but to the super bowl and even after you win that let's see if you go in another super bowl and another hell let's see if you be in the Hall of Fame. Like I said congratulations young man you got the money. There's an old saying be careful what you wish for. And young man haha you got your wish.

I'd let him walk Rich. Yep. Because I have a pretty serious lack of confidence that Murray could and would win a Super Bowl without doing the additional work outside of the complex. Period. Full stop. Murray is a fantastic talent. No question. But you only sign a player to a contract extension for this kind of money if you feel like they can take you to a SB with the chance to win. How can they do that if he's unwilling to put in work outside of the office? Want to be an all-time great? Want to win Super Bowl title(s)? You need to put aside the video games, nights out at the club, and the other dozens if not hundreds of things that can pull your attention away from your craft and do the work. Brady is a marginal athlete at best but his throwing mechanics, mind and drive at why he's probably the greatest qb of all-time. Ditto for Manning. The fact he needs a "homework clause" is an embarrassment to both him and The Cardinals for giving him the money but needing to put that in. He needs to grow up and realize he's not in high school or college where his natural talent alone can win him 90% of the games he plays. Now we know why the team collapses after the halfway mark in the season. Teams learn what he's doing, adjust and bury him game after game.
The league will eventually catch up with you. Especially if you're not strong in the mental part of the game. Murray, will see talent alone isn't forever. Cardinals front office are stupid. No need to give him this deal now. Oh well.... Good Luck Cards Fans

Defenses have the Cardinals offense figured out after six games. It’s Kingsbury’s responsibility to make adjustments to counter that but he doesn’t seem to have a clue. Kliff is the one who should study more game film, not Kyler

By this time, no coach would be able to instill the work ethic needed to be the top QB and win playoff games into this guy. He is what he is and is unwilling to change.
The Ms. Pac Man theme was awesome!
This is literally a little over 30 minutes a day watching some film.
Insane
I love when he finally beat my Rams he's all juking and jiving and good ol time 🙂
Then come the 2nd meeting and we win then in the playoffs we beat the BREAKS off Arizona, he's throwing a tantrum and pouting and butthurt like a gen-z always is 🤣🤣🤣
Same energy Kyler same energy
This feels like something you would hear about JaMarcus Russell
Murray just another JaMarcus Russell LMAO
Why did they “have to” give him a contract to begin with? They could’ve gone the Cleveland route and traded him like they did with Mayfield. 🤷🏻♂️
"Mine has $230M attached to it."
"We have to talk." LMFAO!!!
I said it once, I said it again. I'm happy I'm not a Cardinals fan.
The "Minecraft", "iCarly" thing killed me 😂
Whaaaaaaa??? 'Gonna be the "best show" you've ever had?' By far the WORST show before it started.. a Ned Lamont ad?? You approved that?? Or is RUclips making you look stupid without your knowledge?
Boy oh Boy! I am just guessing, but I believe that Tom Brady has never had such a clause written into any of his contracts. If anything, Brady should have a clause that tells him to stay away from any thoughts of football for 4 hours every week, not counting sleeping hours. We are watching you! It is pretty pathetic when a talented professional is not "self-motivated". Bye Bye Cardinals!
🎵🎵"Whenever you watch that TV screen remember it works both ways..."🎶🎶
The Jamarcus Russel clause hahaa
