I've never even completed a single regular playthrough with Richter. I always start and get distracted by something else. Now I just might. This was such a thrill. Excellent!
I love the fact that after Romanian Ryu decimates Dracula’s turf he looks out into the sunset and you got this jazz soundtrack playing. I fuckin’ love it.
When I saw the title I was like wtf..? Had to watch and you stunned me.. Wow… your precision on placement and timing with them special moves is crazy… clean af… and for me it’s even harder using an Xbox controller… bravo man.. that’s impressive..
Hey, kinda old video but I wanted to thank you as although I didn't speedrun it I borrowed the path you took for my own run which really helped, thanks a lot !
This has got to be the most terrifying thing imaginable for Shaft. Alucard stated that the castle is constantly changing itself, so Shaft has to watch this omniscient Belmont fly through a completely remodeled and unfamiliar castle, all while taking the shortest possible route to the _extremely hidden chamber_ where he was chilling. Dude probably went to make a snack when Richter came through the front gates and only returned because he heard the clock ringing. He didn't even have time to get started resurrecting Dracula.
Watching this makes me realize how badly I suck at this game. Busting out Richter's horizontal special move in a quick fashion is hard enough, but doing it repeatedly in quick succession, and timing your uppercuts after it???!!! Holy crap, dude!
Richter’s moves are not exactly easy to chain together for minutes on end like that. Watching these runs is like the scene in an anime where the protagonist realizes there is a whole new level of power beyond his own. My skills are lacking .
Oh wow... course the ending credits ARE long... you just beat the game with Richter BARELY over five minutes and the ending credits ARE LONGER ?!? I'm LMFAO!
You now what's going to annoy you more? You thought you beat the game with it's weak sauce ending and realize you ONLY beat half of the game. But this game is old enough... I'm sure you realized that already.
@@jamesloll4601 Yeah I got to that bit. I thought it was a nice surprise. 100% finished is only halfway...but then when it turned upside down it got Megaman difficult. I wasn't prepared to commit myself at the time.
No, unfortunately not. In speedrun attempts I "setup" the trick with that dash attack off of the staircase, holding left the whole time while he is falling down to the ground. That gets Richter into a good position, and also makes him suffer a long (relatively) landing animation. During that landing animation, and starting from holding left still, I basically do a full clockwise circle input on the d-pad pressing jump when the circle motion reaches down-right, which causes slide to come out. Then after completing the circle motion back to left, I press the attack input which will perform the dash attack. So, basically the goal is to perform a smooth combination input during the time that you are locked in place with the fall animation - which ensures that you do not alter your initial positioning by moving left/right. It doesn't have to be done extremely fast because as you wrap down to the crouching parts of the 360 motion you will not be moving (before the slide), as you cannot walk/run while crouched. It just has to be done fast enough for A). Getting into crouch before breaking out of being locked in place by the fall animation, and B). Before the dash attack execution window expires. Meaning, after you press UP in the 360, you have 21 frames to then complete the dash attack input. This means about 1/3rd of a second as the game runs at 60fps. The timing for the attack input is precise. It is a 1-2 frame input. Note that the 360 motion also serves as a timing mechanism for when to press the input - practice is required to get a feel for it. Also, there is variance regarding whether or not it will be a 1 or 2 frame window, which is determined by the exact pixel position you start from. I believe it is more common for it to be a 1 frame window, but performing the trick in the general positioning you get from the "setup" mentioned above ensures that it has a chance to work at all, consistently. I have had big streaks of first try success with the skip using the method I have explained (8+ times in a row). I hope this helps.
ruclips.net/video/xAvusUMaaWo/видео.html I made this tutorial really quickly today. It's not the best, but I think coupled with the long-winded response to you I already made prior it could help with learning. Let me know if you still have anymore questions.
why do people play the 360 version (and on an actual 360 instead of xbox one) of many of these classic games all the time i get that it's a port/emulastion of the ps1 game and has none of the load times, while the ps4 version is slightly different with an extra boss fight and such but i also see this with Mega man 9 and 10, and other games.. why are they not played on current consoles when available?
Xbox One isn't any faster - in fact, it may actually be slightly slower... although I'm not 100% sure on that. Basically, the Xbox One just uses some emulation to play the Xbox 360 version. So yes, it is an emulator of an emulator more or less. The Xbox One suffers from more input delay as a result of this.
@@BenAuton Man... you seriously love this game, so do I but not to the same degree but not going to kid as likely hundreds of hours in myself. you either enjoy it or you don't. I think I know where we are BOTH leaning. Oh, by the way got the GOD robe by surprise too. Think them STUBORN knights in the clock area but DON'T use special attacks like the acid fog to defeat them, got a feeling no matter what you WONT get the god robe if you don't use standard attacks to defeat them but using that item that allows for extreme fire health recovery head gear makes that easy.
Playing as Richter is BORING!! I have been trying it for a few days. May as well play Dracula X or some other castlevania game. SOTN is made for Alucard! Wayyyy more enjoyable!
While I can definitely see this as a complete legitimate run, I think that either in the description or in the title of the video you could’ve addressed you used that particular back-dash glitch, as to some could believe you cheated when you didn’t mention it anywhere externally.
I would have liked if the game allowed Ritcher to fight Dracula and his comfy chair, then these speedrunners would see that they just just arrived quickly to their own demise.
Could you imagine being Dracula and watching this shit? "What is a man? A miser-oh HOLY SHIT!"
lole
Lmfao that’s funny af
Average "Die monster. You don't belong in this world" run

ROMANIAN RYU😭😭😭😭😭
the lack of a rematch with dracula is a crime
well, Dracula's Hp in inverted castle is quite something. to beat him with Richter you need the knife, then spam the knife item-crash, it's quite hard
I know right? What more would it have taken to allow him to fight the final boss?
Well, if this time was considered canon, technically this is Richter's rematch with Dracula.
Wicked run dude. Your movement was so clean.
Holy shit, this run was perfect, that Belmont is pretty OP as well, pretty broken abilities from the start. Awesome run!
Very awesome run there. Even with a controller cam haha.
Perfection hehe.
Imagine Shaft keeping an eye out, planning, and seeing THIS. "Now I shall resurrect Lord... WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!" Dead.
Just finished it with Richter for the first time. This is extremely impressive. You’re blade dash chains are insane.

LMAO!!! Well said bro!!! RFLMAO!!
This is the most "i'm home alone and just took a shower" castlevania video i have ever seen...
I saw Richter air dash and go nuts. THE END.
Dracula's resurrection lasted faster then me cooking boiled potato
amazing run man GG!!! you are sotn god !!!

Richter ended Dracula's ressurection faster than me pooping

Beat the game.
Speedrun Maria?
Gg
4:05 how you jump in airdash?
For some frames after an airdash, you are allowed to jump. I think it's like 7 frames or something. Pretty lenient.
skillcapped
my respect
Dracula far cry
Out of curiosity, how many times have you beaten this game? :D
I honestly don't really know. If you count randomizer playthroughs then it's surely 1000+ I suppose.
