Thanks for taking the time to explain how you rig things up. I was shrimping off Dinner Island, but then learned about Yellow Island. Definitely a better place. C clips were a total game changer. Still debating whether or not to purchase the SMI spools. At this point, I’m coiling my line in those collapsible produce crates that you see at the grocery store. My brother-in-law is a manager and gets me all I want. Those crates stack really well and lock into place. Looking forward to the 2024 shrimp opener dates which have yet to be posted.

Im thinking maybe it's 800 for 1/4 in and not 5/16, but im going to switch my other pots to C-links, so I will definitely find out one way or the other. I really hope it does because I will only need 1 extra spool then for when I have friends with me. Sounds like you got 800 in it. Thanks for the feedback!
more rope will go one the outside of the spool, because the circle is bigger. the outside 1/2 of the reel should hold more line that the inside 1/2. Correct? am I thinking corretly? .
Makes sense to me., I bought another square pot for 2024, so i will be taking the rope from one of the old pots and setting it up with c- links. See if it fits on the spool.
No, but I am sure they're a one and done if you land on the biomass with those coffins. I was pretty pleased with how the smi fished for me. That video will be next. Thanks for watching!

I thought the same on the spool... If its for 800" it will hold the 800' I was proven wrong.....
