We are inclined towards the opinion that there is no issue to practise this, in accordance with the fatwa issued by scholars of madhab al-Syafie. However, whoever decides to leave it, in order to be cautious, then it is not makruh (undesirable) and should not be made into a polemic.
Even as hanafis we wipe our face with both hands after finishing salah , while reciting "La ilaha illallah Muhammad ur Rasoolulllah" Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Yeah it's true it is not part of the salah but it's part of the routine because Companions used to salah on the desert so the sand usually stuck on their face after sujud so after salah they wipe it off

Hal ini didasarkan satu riwayat bahwa setelah bahwa Rasulullah SAW selalu mengusap wajahnya dengan kedua tangannya. عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يِزِيْدِ عَنْ أَبِيْهِ أنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إذَا دَعَا فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ -- سنن أبي داود Dari Saib bin Yazid dari ayahnya, “Apabila Rasulullah SAW berdoa, beliau beliau selallu mengangkat kedua tangannya, lalu mengusap wajahnya dengan kedua tangannya." (HR Abu Dawud, 1275) Begitu pula orang yang telah selesai melaksanakan shalat, ia juga disunnahkan mengusap wajah dengan kedua tangannya, sebab shalat secara bahasa berarti berdoa. Di dalam shalat terkandung doa-doa kepada Allah SWT Sang Khaliq. Sehingga orang yang mengerjakan shalat berarti juga sedang berdoa. Maka wajar jika setelah shalat ia juga disunnahkan untuk mengusap muka. Syekh Abu Bakar bin Muhammad Syatha dalam kitab I’anatut Thalibin menyatakan: Imam Nawawi dalam kitabnya al-Adzkar, dan kami juga meriwayatkan hadits dalam kitab Ibnus Sunni dari Sahabat Anas bahwa Rasulullah SAW apabila selesai melaksanakan shalat, beliau mengusap wajahnya dengan tangan kanannya. Lalu berdoa: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إلهَ إلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيْمُ اَللَّهُمَّ اذْهَبْ عَنِّي الْهَمَّ وَالْحَزَنَ “Saya bersaksi tiada Tuhan kecuali Dia Dzat Yang maha Pengasih dan penyayang. Ya Allah Hilangkan dariku kebingungan dan kesusahan." (I’anatut Thalibin, juz I, hal 184-185) Hal ini menjadi bukti bahwa mengusap muka setelah shalat memang dianjurkan dalam Islam. Karena Nabi Muhammad SAW juga mengusap muka setelah shalat.

Intentions is not enough. Following the sunnah of Allah and His messenger, with the right intentions. Otherwise even many Christians and Jews have good intentions in what they do, but they have rejected the truth.

Yes, such description is found in hadith. For example- كان إذا صلى مسح بيده اليمنى على رأسه ويقول: بسم الله الذي لا إله غيره الرحمن الرحيم، اللهم أذهب عني الهم والحزن Narrated by Hazrat Anas. Grade of hadith? Great scholars usually follow the strongest or most authentic source you know. Kanz Al-Ummal is a collection of varieties of hadith, unlike books by Al-Bukhari.

wiping heads and rubbing your eyes can be a natural habit from maybe adjusting your cap or wiping tears or from sleepiness. This shows the importance of education of the deen - you should not take something you see someone do as your religion unless it is a proven Sunnah. This also shows the importance of composure and etiquette in the masjid and in public. You might be doing something random as a nervous habit or even involuntarily, but those around you might take it as part of Islam.

We are inclined towards the opinion that there is no issue to practise this, in accordance with the fatwa issued by scholars of madhab al-Syafie. However, whoever decides to leave it, in order to be cautious, then it is not makruh (undesirable) and should not be made into a polemic.
Even as hanafis we wipe our face with both hands after finishing salah , while reciting "La ilaha illallah Muhammad ur Rasoolulllah" Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. We all are muslims and ummati of our beloved Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam, we just follow the same religion in different ways 😊.

The 5th Hadith of Imam An-Nawawi's 40 is
Aishah narrated that:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (i.e. Islam) that is not part of it, will have it rejected."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَا هَذَا مَا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَهُوَ رَدٌّ " .

Salah satu kebiasaan yang sering kita lihat, setiap selesai mengucapkan salam dalam shalat, umat Islam mengusap wajah dengan kanannya. Hal ini didasarkan satu riwayat bahwa setelah bahwa Rasulullah SAW selalu mengusap wajahnya dengan kedua tangannya.
عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يِزِيْدِ عَنْ أَبِيْهِ أنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إذَا دَعَا فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ -- سنن أبي داود
Dari Saib bin Yazid dari ayahnya, “Apabila Rasulullah SAW berdoa, beliau beliau selallu mengangkat kedua tangannya, lalu mengusap wajahnya dengan kedua tangannya." (HR Abu Dawud, 1275)
Begitu pula orang yang telah selesai melaksanakan shalat, ia juga disunnahkan mengusap wajah dengan kedua tangannya, sebab shalat secara bahasa berarti berdoa. Di dalam shalat terkandung doa-doa kepada Allah SWT Sang Khaliq. Sehingga orang yang mengerjakan shalat berarti juga sedang berdoa. Maka wajar jika setelah shalat ia juga disunnahkan untuk mengusap muka.
Syekh Abu Bakar bin Muhammad Syatha dalam kitab I’anatut Thalibin menyatakan: Imam Nawawi dalam kitabnya al-Adzkar, dan kami juga meriwayatkan hadits dalam kitab Ibnus Sunni dari Sahabat Anas bahwa Rasulullah SAW apabila selesai melaksanakan shalat, beliau mengusap wajahnya dengan tangan kanannya. Lalu berdoa:
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إلهَ إلَّا هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيْمُ اَللَّهُمَّ اذْهَبْ عَنِّي الْهَمَّ وَالْحَزَنَ
“Saya bersaksi tiada Tuhan kecuali Dia Dzat Yang maha Pengasih dan penyayang. Ya Allah Hilangkan dariku kebingungan dan kesusahan." (I’anatut Thalibin, juz I, hal 184-185)
Hal ini menjadi bukti bahwa mengusap muka setelah shalat memang dianjurkan dalam Islam. Karena Nabi Muhammad SAW juga mengusap muka setelah shalat.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّى
Allahumma Innaka Afuwwun Tuhibbul Afwa Fafu Annee
Here are some authentic adhkars that can be recited after every fardh salah:
1. Astaghfirullah (I ask Allah for forgiveness) x3.
2. Allahumma Anta As-Salam, wa Minka As-Salam, Tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram (O Allah, You are the One Who is free from all defects and deficiencies and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour).
3. Recite Ayatul Kursi.
4. Subhanallah (Allah is free from imperfection) x33, Alhamdulillah (All praise be to Allah) x33, Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) x34.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَتَرْكَ الْمُنْكَرَاتِ وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ بِعِبَادِكَ فِتْنَةً فَاقْبِضْنِي إِلَيْكَ غَيْرَ مَفْتُونٍ
Allaahumma inni as’aluka fi’l al-khayraat wa tark al-munkaraat, wa hubb al-masaakeen, Wa idha aradta bi ‘ibaadika fitnatan, faqbidni ilayka ghayra maftoon
(O Allaah, I ask You (to enable me) to do good deeds and avoid evil deeds and to love the poor. And If You will that some trial should befall Your slaves, then take me to You [i.e., cause me to die] without having subjected to that trial).”
[Narrated by at-Tirmidhi, 3233; al-Albani said of this hadeeth in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (408), it is saheeh li ghayrihi]
Mu’adh (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) took hold of my hand and said, “O Mu’adh! By Allah I love you, so I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer:
اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ، وَشُكْرِكَ، وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
“Allâhumma a’innî alâ dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni ‘ibâdatika
(O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner).”

Seeking Forgiveness One Hundred Times
From a man of the Ansar (ﺭﺿﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻨﻬﻢ) who said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say after the Salah:
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الْغَفُورُ
Allahummagh-firlee wa tub ‘alayya, Innaka Antat-Tawwaabul-Ghafoor
(O Allah forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most-Forgiving)
One hundred times.”

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘as’aluka ‘ilman naafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan.
(O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is of benefit , a good provision , and deeds that will be accepted) (Recite in Arabic after the Fajr prayer)

Recite 10 times after Magrib and Fajr Prayer
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحَدْهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu yuhyee wa yumeetu wa Huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in Qadeer.
(None has the right to be worshiped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise. He brings life and He causes death, and He is Able to do all things)

After every farz pray 15 times Allahumma Ajirni Minannar.....this will protect you from fore of hell the fire of hell cannot touch you when you pray this❤

Yes, such description is found in hadith. For example-
كان إذا صلى مسح بيده اليمنى على رأسه ويقول: بسم الله الذي لا إله غيره الرحمن الرحيم، اللهم أذهب عني الهم والحزن
Narrated by Hazrat Anas. When he prayed, he would place his right hand on his head and say “Bismillahillaji la ilaha ghairuhu. Arrahmanur Rahimu, Allahumma Azhib Anil Hamma Walhujna. {Kanjul Ummal, Hadith No-17915}

Grade of hadith? Great scholars usually follow the strongest or most authentic source you know. Kanz Al-Ummal is a collection of varieties of hadith, unlike books by Al-Bukhari.

Even Imam Al-Bukhari RA has chapters he segregated to be unauthentic narations. So the question is, what is the authenticity of the above mentioned?

wiping heads and rubbing your eyes can be a natural habit from maybe adjusting your cap or wiping tears or from sleepiness. This shows the importance of education of the deen - you should not take something you see someone do as your religion unless it is a proven Sunnah. This also shows the importance of composure and etiquette in the masjid and in public. You might be doing something random as a nervous habit or even involuntarily, but those around you might take it as part of Islam.
Specially the guys who work in the ministry of Jannah- the ones who decide who is going to hell and not.❤

This practice is mentioned in our books by scholars of the al-syafie school, that when a person finishes praying, it is sunnah for him to wipe his forehead and face while reciting a prayer:
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ (هُوَ) الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ، اللَّهُمَّ أَذْهِبْ عَنِّي الْهَمَّ وَالْحَزَنَ
Meaning : "I bear witness that there is no god to be worshiped but Allah. He is the Most Generous and Most Merciful. Ya Allah! I beg you to remove it from me
Among them:
Al-Adzkar (no.193) by Imam al-Nawawi Rahimahullah, from Ibn Sunni, from Malik bin Anas RA.
I`anah al-Tolibin (1/215) by Sheikh Abu Bakar al-Dimyati Rahimahullah, from Ibn Sunni.
Bughyah al-Mustarsyidin (p. 99) by Sheikh Abdurrahman Ba`lawi, from Ibn Mansur.
This hadith was narrated by Imam Ibn Sunni in `Amal al-Yaum wa al-Lailah (no.122) and Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu`jam al-Awsat (no.3178). This hadith is agreed upon by the scholars, including the one quoted by Imam Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani in Nataij al-Afkar (2/285), but some scholars judge it as daif jiddan (weak and maudhu' (false). See al- `Ajalah al-Raghib (no.113) by Sheikh Salim Eid al-Hilali.
