Another thing that I think that makes fighting games fun is how the differences in character how you slap/grab your way to the victory screen and how different moves interact with each other if various situations leading to it being very dynamic.
So if I can extent the music analogy it is be like riffing with another human.

I think the most fun Thing is Just the amount of personality you can Bring into playing. When looking at Players Like SonicFox they are super expressive in Game and outside.
Sure, there are always better and worse strategies to follow and Players learn the same Set Ups and Combos but everyone plays their character differently. Some Players you can recognize simply by watching them Play and when you Play your Friends a Lot you kind of learn to Play against then specifically much more than the character they pick.

I never knew my goal was to make a flow chart. My goal is just to outplay my opponent

@@njnjhjh8918 it doesn’t have to be, and you don’t want it to be exclusive so you become predictable. But it is a good way to structure situations.

Honestly the FGC (at least the past few years) has been an amazing community.
I've played fighting games as a kid before but only returned to them back in 2022. I have played League of Legends my entire life and man...
The game really breeds toxicity, in part due to the way it works sure. Considering you can be WAY stronger than your opponent because of items and all that.
However I think one of the more important reasons is actually the fact that most popular content creators around LoL are very toxic themselves. While it is funny, it ends up making the community worse as they also act as role models.
I find myself seething with rage the minute something goes bad in a match of LoL, I genuinely think I need a very long break from the game at this point. Most creators I've watched seem to share the sentiment lol.
With the FGC however, apart from a few bad apples it is incredibly welcoming and fosters a good mentality. I very, very rarely find myself getting as angry as I do with League in FGs.
Again, I feel like FGs themselves are naturally more fair in terms of mechanics but imo the more important factor is the general attitude of the community.
From my experience with LoL, I know I tend to adopt said general attitude, so I hope it stays this way.

Hey man, I recently got into guilty gear strive and was wondering what you would recommend me to focus on as a complete beginner? Other than that, I have seen all of ur videos and wish u all the best on your RUclips journey

@@spongebobuchiha8788 Hey, thanks for watching the videos it’s means a lot. If you are new to fighting games as a whole I recommend doing research on the most common terms across games. For Strive specifically I would focus on learning all of the meters and what they do, the buttons, and the most common inputs, then I would pick a simple character (Ky and Sol) are good examples and learn the moves after that the most important thing is practice so find some discord communities ( I use the hitbox, ggst community, and newbie fight club discords) or run the tower. With consistency and learning from people better than you, you will eventually get better just by playing. Hope this helps, and again thanks for watching.

      Some basic pointers:
      1. Pick a character that you like
      2. Don't try to memorize frame data (this is a common new player trap)
      3. Play more than you lab.
      4. Have a basic understanding how moves can cancel into each other. This is called the the gatling system in Guilty Gear (different fighting games have different names for canceling things into each other for some reason). I will leave another comment explaining this after this one to give an overview if you don't allready know (I don't know your level so sorry if this is very basic)
      5. When you are playing try to see what situations come up often and after you are done with a session see if you can in the lab find a way of countering it I just do a short 5-10 min kind of like brushing your teeth when you are done.
      6. Ask questions.

      @pietietjie 2 месяца назад +3

      Gatlings in gg strive:
      - punches go into themselves, and command normals
      - kick go into dust buttons (except throw), and command normals.
      - far slash/down slash goes into heavy slashes
      - close slash goes into far slash/down slash, heavy slashes, dust buttons (except throw), and command normals
      - Heavy slashes dont typically cancel into any other normals.
Most of these can then be special canceled (moves with motion inputs) or supers.
Command normals are normals that require a direction to be inputted universally their is forward and punch that works as an anti air but there are others that is character specific they will be at the top of the command list
So a basic example is close slash > far slash > down heavy slash > special.
