I have a ton of black shoes/boots/stilettos; trousers/shorts/palazzo/capris; tops/blouses/sweaters; midi/maxi skirts as my foundation. ( I switch to white and neutral in the summer). I shop according to the events I need to attend. I tend to colorblock with black. Any jackets, tops, accessories, handbags I buy will be in color. I don't have to think to hard to put an outfit together because I'm wearing black waist down. I'm a lazy fashionista.

One of the things that helped me build a decent wardrobe is to buy a lot of neutral colors. That way, I can mix and match more easily or add a pop of color. Same with shoes. I tend not to follow trends and just buy classic pieces because they don’t look dated after a season. Also, I would love to see your formal items! I’m a teacher, so I don’t live that life, and I want to live vicariously through your closet. 😂

She talks about modules to build a wardrobe and gives lots of ideas on mixing and matching. Super helpful in using what you have. Her personality is wonderful just like Eva’s.

Girlllllll "you ain't never lied." I lost a who wore it best to a much older lady because she had the right hair and body type for the mustard and blue outfit we both (unintentionally)wore on the same day to work. I gave that thing to the Goodwill the very next day. Lesson learned.
I’ve been doing this for over 15 years ! Working in Corporate America and getting ready in the morning made me adopt this behavior. My wardrobe for the week is done on Sundays.

You really got me I can already tell you that I have way too many clothes I have clothes in every room I have too many shoes I have my whole garage is full of clothes in bins. I do have a lot of good quality clothes a lot that came from thrift stores or consignment shops but I also has some cheap clothing that I'm actually just starting to get rid of
Great video. I plan my work week attire on the weekend and iron it all, if needed. Which also gives me an opportunity to not run around like a mad woman in the mornings and the alarm doesn’t have to go off as early. I also often have an idea of what to wear and if unsure how to arrange, Pinterest is a great go to. I search, black slacks, floral shirt or whatever and so many ideas will come up that picture what I already have or close to it. Mom always says, it’s not what you have or how much, but what you do with what you have! As always, thank you!
Each season I do a look book for everything I have either thrifted or purchased somewhere. Take one rainy saturday afternoon at home and do a few looks different events or outings. Get somewhere near natural light or window and hang it up on wall and get your iPhone or regular camera and take a picture of the outfit. Have fun with your items and coordinate a few looks and textures with your accessories. Pull all your photos into either a word doc or powerpoint and arrange. Print em out and leave it in your closet for easy reference. I have a lot of clothing but it suits a purpose in my life and do I wear it all. I never say I have nothing to wear.
I want to dress with what I have but I want to lose weight to be confident in clothes ... but I still have that issue with having to much and not knowing what to wear and yes I have all the basics you needed as I was actively looking for employment a few years ago

Great video. I plan my work week attire on the weekend and iron it all, if needed. Which also gives me an opportunity to not run around like a mad woman in the mornings and the alarm doesn’t have to go off as early. I also often have an idea of what to wear and if unsure how to arrange, Pinterest is a great go to. I search, black slacks, floral shirt or whatever and so many ideas will come up that picture what I already have or close to it. Mom always says, it’s not what you have or how much, but what you do with what you have! As always, thank you!

Each season I do a look book for everything I have either thrifted or purchased somewhere. Take one rainy saturday afternoon at home and do a few looks different events or outings. Get somewhere near natural light or window and hang it up on wall and get your iPhone or regular camera and take a picture of the outfit. Have fun with your items and coordinate a few looks and textures with your accessories. Pull all your photos into either a word doc or powerpoint and arrange. Print em out and leave it in your closet for easy reference. I have a lot of clothing but it suits a purpose in my life and do I wear it all. I never say I have nothing to wear.
I want to dress with what I have but I want to lose weight to be confident in clothes ... but I still have that issue with having to much and not knowing what to wear and yes I have all the basics you needed as I was actively looking for employment a few years ago

Ive been there, i bought church clothes right before everything closed due to the pandemic haven’t been able to wear yet.. & i’m having the issue now i got event clothes but no “regular” clothes. I got a couple sweats and sweaters in the cart rn lol

Hello Queen, your right preach. I use to be like that, "I have nothing to wear". I went through my closet 6mos ago and realized I have a lot of clothes. I pulled out all the club and trendy clothes which I dont wear anymore. Now I only buy what looks good on me and my body type, so no matter what it is I bought, I like it, and I know what its going to look like. Timeless, thanks

I worked with a woman who wore black, white and beige. Looked like two pantsuits. It took me MONTHS to realize she was wearing basically the same outfits, just changing the jewelry, shoes and blouses. She looked 'rich' every day!
