Did you solve this issue? I'm having the same trouble.

Not really. It seems to have gone away nearly completely once it got warmer for Summer but then again I heard it again once the other day. I actually have heard it happen when the car isn't moving a bit so I know it's not anything pike CV joints. My only guesses are maybe timing belt tensioner (this started after I did my timing belt job but I didn't replace the tensioner), overfilled coolant building up pressure and bursting out the overflow? sporadic radiator cap? (I replaced this and still heard it the other day), or more recently I was slightly suspicious of the egr system. I tore it down and it was nearly completely clogged with carbon. After a lot of ultrasonic cleaning, undiluted concentrated degreaser, and me spending a lot of time picking all the carbon out with metal wire it's clean and reinstalled. We'll if anything changes. I might not know more until winter. Another thing I noticed, the noise only reappeared once recently after I changed the oil. I wonder if it is somehow oil or oil thickness related? Loose oil pump screws maybe? At this point I've mostly accept that I'll just bear the noise until something actually breaks.
