So glad you saw this particular performance, a live classic.

The show you are watching is from October 3 1970 140 Theater Pop Shop Brussels Belgium after the album was released. First off, you gotta check out 'Supernaut'! One of the heaviest riffs ever. Starts off quiet and then blows your head off. Now... My sister bought the Paranoid album when I was still 11, in the spring of 1972. I had been a music fan for years already, but mainly listened to top 40-type stuff. That album was one of my first introductions to heavy rock and roll. 'Iron Man' was the radio hit and what everybody talked about, and the first thing we concentrated on. But when I heard this it was instantly my favorite. I had always wanted to be a drummer (ended up playing guitar) and I thought 'War Pigs' was the most amazing drum song ever. And he did all of that on a four piece set! Same with Bonham in the very early days. They were all great musicians. Geezer was a monster on bass, and Iommi was a great guitarist and wrote most of the music. And Ozzie was a helluva singer and just had that energy. Great choice. But listen to Supernaut!
