the texture of the donuts looks like a polish kind that I grew up on called paczki (my mom's side is 100% Polish straight from there). Also the way you describe them as less sweet. The dough is more yeast-y than American donuts, and less fluffy. About half of her family ended up in Australia - mostly Melbourne - and I'm under the impression there's a solid Polish community there, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's not what they are based on.
Oh neat!! We're going to have to try out some donuts when we eventually make it to Poland! I normally really like yeasty donuts, but I love the fluff too! Should have looked for some more polish food while I was there!!

Along time ago maybe, and never like the cream or jam inside the doughnuts 🍩, because they were too sweet. I would have power bars or Fig Bar for hikes. Cliff Bar sometimes. I would go to work not eat then get called to do something, and help someone for 2 days and often not eat. That past and the connections to them I have end any contact to my past it's been 6 years

No worries! That’s why I usually try to ask, I know things don’t always come across like we mean for them to online. He’s a lot of fun, but also a bit shy and *very* sarcastic… and a bit tired/grumpy a lot of the time. Poor guy doesn’t sleep too well most nights… (also doesn’t help that while in Australia we had to basically work the graveyard shift. 😂) Thanks for your feedback and support! I didn't know Drums (the Sri Lankan place) was a franchise. I regularly eat at their Preston Market store. Good on em. Delish food there.
