The Wraith is one of the baddest RCs on the planet right out of the box. If you want to crawl, let's crawl. You want to bash, let's bash. Pound for pound I'd put it against any RC on the market. Can't wait to see you do some things with it.
I have 3 ar60 based builds, several things that helped wake up the performance..... battery to the front is a must. Beef tubes help with durability, nice set of heavy beadlocks, proline tires, 1080 esc Holmes 12t 3 slot trail master sport, or a 3800kv castle slate with a mamba x Holmes hobbies shv800 servo(optional, but runs 4s and over 1000oz/inch), And my favorite one I've built, has a Toyota Hilux body with the back of the cab cut out, and rear fenders stuck on the sides like a cut up 4 runner.
I got one. I took the body off. After taking out the 4 screws to hold the body in, made it a lot easier to access the battery tray. I fried my servo on the first run. Love the truck though. Need to get a waterproof reciever and replace the servo.

First two upgrades you need with this truck are aluminum servo horn and hex wheel hubs. Those metal pins wallow out the plastic slots in the wheels in no time. Also, take the body off. Looks cooler and makes putting the battery in way easier.
I absolutely love my Wraith Spawn, currently making a low cg build with it, surprises me everytime, i will probably change up the looks to have a detached hood to put the battery in the front. This thing is awesome.

The axles on this is really fragile in stock form. I wish I had one. But I wouldn't drive it at all without installing beef tubes and metal steering links up front. With those mods it's already pretty sweet.
I took the two bolts out of each side of the body and then used Velcro to hold the body on , makes life so easy and I keep a spare battery in the front of the chassis under the bonnet and that helps with crawling
Hey kevin if you make so much money from selling on eBay after your done building your monster truck it would be cool to pick out your most favorite rc rock crawler and ask a truck building company if they could build you the rc rock crawler of your choice just saying
Believe me it´s a beast off road on rough terrain - I got the WRAITH and I always say "where the Wraith can´t go - no other car can do it"! But I have configurated it as a Crawler not a Rock Racer!
I turned my Wraith into a Wroncho using aftermarket Flat chassis plates. Between the battery And trying to work on this thing was nothing but a PITA. So much easier now and it crawls much better.

I used to have a non spawn edition wraith and there hella op. There was no challenge with it. The spawn edition has been around for a while and I think it's under the legacy label on Axials website.
I saw this carbon fibre 5mm gt chassis on customrcupgrades and though that it could be useful for he project 203mph rc car as it is much wider than the standard limitless chassis and has integrated battery trays.
Kev I love the idea to swap over the cage, but i'll be honest with you: pretty much none of the stock plastic parts will hold up to any abuse, especially with the added weight! At the very least you should rebuild the transmission with hardened steel gears (HR, Robinson etc), change out the plastic links, and get a new servo.

Doing something simular, except trying to build a cage by hand with brazing and old brake line to make an epic bouncer!

Put a hobbywing 880 brushed esc. You can run 4s! I use it with a holmes hobbies crawlmaster 550 and it barely gets warm
