    • @Freesciencelessons
      @Freesciencelessons  4 года назад +20

      Well it's the percentage of ammonia in the mix when it reaches equilibrium. This is a bit different to percentage yield. The percentage yield is (number of moles of product / maximum possible number of moles of product) x 100. With the Haber process, the ammonia manufacturers do a number of things to increase the amount of ammonia eg recirculating back over the catalyst. These have the effect of increasing the percentage yield.

    • @momangal1543

      La chateliers principle states that if the concentration of reactants is increased then the forward reaction is favoured to use up more reactants. If the products are increased the backward reaction is favoured to use up products

    Could you please simplify the term “compromise temperature”

    • @Freesciencelessons
      @Freesciencelessons  4 года назад +8

      Ideally the reaction would be carried out at a high temperature to increase the rate of the reaction. However, if we did that then the yield would be very low (as the forward reaction is exothermic). So we choose a "compromise" temperature which is not so hot that the yield is low but is not so cold that the rate is low.

      I don't based my videos on the CGP books. I base them on the AQA specification. If you learn my videos, you will have covered the topics that you need. But bear in mind that the exam will require you to APPLY the knowledge as well as simply recall it.

    hi sir, in the mock exam, I had a question on the definition of internal energy of water. I wrote that it is the energy that the particles of water get. so , would I get the mark for that? it would be really useful for me.

    • @jaffryjaman4951

      I meant the energy that the water particles have. sorry.

    • @Freesciencelessons
      @Freesciencelessons  6 лет назад +3

      It depends on what your teacher's markscheme is accepting. Personally, I think you would need to be more specific to get the mark. It's the kinetic and potential energy of the particles in water molecules.

For example say if it gives you the specific heat capacity, then calculate the latent heat by re arranging the formula, i just struggle. Please could you make a video about this or explain in the comments? Thanks!

      Hi. I'll try to make a video on that before the exams. However, please be reassured that you are generally not required to rearrange equations that many times in the exams. Usually, they're fairly straightforward.
