The hook for Kanye West’s “All Of The Lights” involves 13 different background singers, namely: Alicia Keys, John Legend, The-Dream, Drake, Fergie, Kid Cudi, Elton John, Ryan Leslie, Charlie Wilson, Tony Williams, La Roux, Alvin Fields, Ken Lewis, and Rihanna as the main feature
Every single one of them are legends, but you know, you have someone from a completely different genre of music like Elton John hop on this, that appreciates the art being created. I'm still floored Paul McCartney and Kanye made a song. Some art transcends genres, and I've shown many classic rock people who have started listening to hip-hop because I showed them this album. It's incredible what was accomplished with not only this song, but the whole album. I played in a jazz band in high school, as a sax player, with a drummer who played gospel all the time. The amount of respect and talent we added to each other's craft was absolutely incredible. I brought more of a prog rock sound to my playing, and he just brought full gospel drums, the mixture of the two was unlike anything I've ever worked with before. The conductor would just let us go for 16 bars every song we played at the events we did, with nothing but applause. Seeing two different genres of music mix reminds me of those times, it is still as awesome as the first time I heard it about a decade ago.
I saw this live and it was unforgettable. And if you wanna take it to a next level, Fergie appeared totally unannounced just to sing her part and surprised everyone. The whole album of this song is a masterpiece.

Kanye has always used “Lights” as a reference to his journey in other songs so this “All of the Lights” is the entire journey; hence the legacy of Kanye West. The message of this song is that Kanye “want(s) you to see everything” whether it be his highlights “fast cars, shooting stars” symbolizing his rise to fame, or the worst, “Vegas” symbolizing Sin City or his Sins. When he talks about “I slapped my girl” and “spent that bread” that’s the moment of his life where everyone canceled him for hitting Taylor Swift. the “daughter” he’s referencing is not a literal person as at this point in time he didn’t have any, but rather his music. When he says her “mother, brother, … hate me in that order” Kanye’s talking about the other related music genres and it’s artists hating on him after that incident. He doesn’t want “her grow up in ghetto university” as in he doesn’t want the way he was raised in the ghetto continue affecting his music and it’s reputation. “We going all the way this time” continues on like how when you get an overdose it starts repeating itself and that’s why it gets quiet for a bit as he gets close to dying from all these burdens on him. He tries to “tell you but all I could say is oh” is him trying to describe this life but he can only represent it through music as of the “ohh” part. At the end of the day, this song shows Kanye’s point in life where he tries to break free from the bad portion of the culture he was raised in.

John Warrior of Light White 25th
Bump it nearly everyday
This song gave me every reason to follow my dreams in life. One day I will see all of the “lights” that were meant for me, and you will too. 🙏🏽
Not gonna lie,,,no artist came closer to Kanye's musical creativity when he was still full time on it.
Hulisani Matsila Tupac, big, bone, eminem
Wus Poppin all those artists could never make anything close to this
@@dremmz stop smoking whatever it is you're smoking and go back and visit each one of those artist works.
Dremmz your smoking. Kanye was ok but not great

We teally took this music and time of our lives for granted..sad
Ps:god bless you all
I didn't even realise
True!!!!
Or when your getting ready for gym class you hear your friends banging on the lockers singing the song.
Well we technically didn't. We knew our quality. Mainstream music just reminds us n naturally takes us back..
Are you BeatbyJeff?
One of the best songs of all time. Kanye really was making quality music this era.
He still makes quality music… this was just the peak which literally every modern music artist has.
Uhh.. don't know if I have epilepsy but I guess I'll find out.
Well put.

The nostalgia this song gives me is so bittersweet.
That’s what I was thinking, I stumbled upon this song again, been forever since I’ve heard this song.
Facts bro
Vote for kanye
Almost 7 years later and this song is still amazing
100 persent
im convinced that no matter when this song came out it was going to be a hit
Kanye music ages really well, you'll find he doesn't even have that many number 1s but definitely deserves some
The whole album is insane. Amazing production that defines that era of rap. The dichotomy between Kanye and Kendrick is pretty interesting considering how excellent they both are. Rap is the greatest genre of music.
11 years later, leading on 12 and this is still a classic, album as a whole considered one of the best in music :)
Olive Delights 🗣🔥
this is quite possibly the greatest beat of all time
Agreed
Yamanashi Takanawa
This or ali bomaye
Haven’t listened to Xxplosive then
Yamanashi Takana obviously haven’t heard overnight celebrity
you mean celebrity overnight?
This song could come out today and still be huge.
"still be huge" bro If this came out today it would blow everything else out of the water 😂 . Nothing made today can even come close to this absolute banger
@@coleg9005 Kanye of some different shit mane
@@coleg9005 fr 😂 it would hit a billion views in a week
Still easily one of the best beats I've ever heard in my life
For sure
Too bad it’s super compressed
Seeing Rihiana make music with punks like these hurts my feelings. I'm so glad she eventually teamed up with a real dangerous OG, someone all the other so-called gangster rappers were terrified of. I'm talking about the deadliest, dopest, illest, realest, most infamous G ever, Shy Ronnie.
This song was so ahead of its time tbh
Oh yea
Definitely that's why I still suggest it to people
luv the strings!!🎻
how?
Gawdat Braidy yeah it is
I mean it wasn't clickbait, ya man had all of the lights in the video🤷
Multifandom Hoe underrated comment
Lol your profile pic looks like it was blinded by all of the lights. 🤣
HI TAE
Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
still blows my mind how songs transport you instantly to a certain memory or time.
Music is a timeline
Or listening to john Denver country roads take me home and feeling like you're from West Virginia and missing home. And I'm from Australia
I mean every sense. is linked to a cranial nerve. The cranial nerve you are thinking of is Vestibulocochlear nerve. Essentially it. works on your balance, however, it also helps with going back to a certain memory once the sound is triggered through the ear.
@@williamwilliams194 so funny you comment that song. i actually went to West Virginia University and of course that's the song we sing at our Football games. xo
Crazy 🔥🔥🔥💯

What light effects do you want?
Kanye: all of the lights
It's funny because that's literally something that Kanye would say. With conviction too
This needs more likes lmao
Reading that and I can just hear him saying that now 😂😂

This is one of those songs that defines a generation. Never let this song die. And despite his shortcomings, never forget the music genius that is Kanye
love comments like this 💚

Please and thank you
Kanye is the worst part of this song. BAsically waiting for his parts to end for rihanna, cudi, or the outro.... Kanye is like "I beat my own wife uppp and she called the FEDS!" like no dude youre a p*s*y
What short comings?
Crazy how everything Kanye said is actually happening now in the present 🤧

YES
Before he dropped this album (7th grade) I was convinced he was just some asshole who everyone dislike and I kinda hoped on the bandwagon because I was like whatever fuck Kanye. So around my second semester of 8th grade I downloaded MBDTF kinda in a spiteful way, like I wanted to listen to it honestly to see if he really was trash or not. But I was soooo so so wrong dude and literally this is my all time favourite album like nothing competes with the maximalist that is that album. I would come home from school every day for two or three months and listen to that entire album and play MW2 and WaW and it just brings back so many memories. All time favourite album from my all time favorite rapper hands down
OLIVE DELIGHTS🗣🔥

The fact that everyone is overlooking the true meaning of this song just proves how much people under appreciate the mind of Kanye West. And it can be dark at times
