"Calla-Lace" beret from StrickStrand - with organically structured ajour patterns you often want the middle stitch to be at the top when knitting 3 stitches together or knitting additional stitches out of them. If you "just" want to knit together, you can simply slip 2 stitches together, knit one and pass the 2 slipped stitches over. But if you want to knit out more stitches, you first have to rearrange the 3 stitches on the left needle:
Slip the 1st stitch, insert in the 3rd stitch from the back, carefully pull out the left needle, "catch" the 2nd stitch again with the left needle, 3rd stitch back on the left needle, 1st stitch back on the left needle. Now knit 7 stitches: [k3tog, yo1] 3 times, k3tog ‪@strickstrand‬
