If you're going through something similar my heart goes out to you! Sending good vibes your way. Thank you for watching!!

If it ever happens again, I highly recommend a warm compress. Heat a clean wash cloth with hot water and make sure it’s not too hot before pressing against the eye. Do this every two hours until you notice pain subside. Usually for one day. By next day it’s gone. It works so well.

I miss quarantine too. Life was slower- we cooked and went for walks outside. Also as an introvert people couldn’t invite me to social events. Honestly it was the best I felt in my whole life and I was the healthiest both physically and mentally.

I feel many of us found you randomly in these past few weeks. I hope your channel grows so much that you can get sponsors and youtube monies! I center myself with yoga and solving jigsaw puzzles. However, nothing kills the zombie in me except for quitting my job and trying self-employment. But the latter brings many new fears that eventually come true. Or not. I don't think this world is going right for us, the little people. Maybe if we keep connecting some day we will be able to point our fingers at it and change it. Until then, baby steps and little joys - like videos from stranger to stranger :) happy to have found you

Watching this I couldn't help but chuckle about myself. I used to think the anxiety, exhaustion and disconnect I've felt about everything when I grew up was so unique and therefore mirroring some greek tragedy. When you're in that mindset, that everything somehow is meant to be hard and terrible for you and somehow maybe predestined to never turn good and happy, it can suddenly become frightenedly tempting to let go and unconsciously fulfill that premise for yourself. It's always something to be grateful about when strangers admit that they're struggling too sometimes. It makes that fight feel a little bit less solitary and a lot more communal. So please tend to yourself and take your time. Because that's what we're doing all the time too without having a camera pointed at us. We'll huddle together when you come back.

Hi Chelsey! Your video and this algorithm made its way across the world to South Korea where you're helping a 27 year old (me, duh) feel a little less lost in my own feelings. I too love my home and city - despite being so far from family, and I sometimes think that if we weren't asking ourselves these questions that make us question our existence or make us overwhelmed, we'd never grow. I center myself with music and walking my dog, seeing his joy in simply being outside and having me with him, helps ground me. I found these insane colouring books by Kerby Rosanes that my brain relax, too. Hope your next week goes better - you're doing great, living the life you've always wanted to build. I can't wait to see it grow.

I would recommend for you to try to find something spiritual that moves you, it doesnt has to be religious, but spiritual. It can be some sort of club or community and it really does help with mental health and frequenting the same people with the same interest will increase your dopamine levels.

As a 33 year old man who has just moved to Sydney and living solo, I can relate to a lot of the mental, personal, and emotional triumphs and struggles you are going through and showing the whole world through your videos.
The winter months are especially harsh for the mind and working from home is both a plus and a minus.
I can especially relate to the sentiment of not finding fulfilment in one's job while not hating it completely, but needing it as a means to survive and fund your personal hobbies and growth pursuits.
Just keep moving and progressing little by little is all we can try to do.

Hey! Hope you are enjoying your break. I dunno if this will help you or anyone else, but I thought I’d throw together a few strategies that work for me, managing those bad mental health patches.
    1. Buy those pre packed, ‘steam in a bag’ veges that take 5 minutes in the microwave. I don’t feel bad about food going off and frozen is better than no vegetables.
    2. I have to take a train to work, so I park near the station, that means I have to do a 10 min walk at the start and finish of each day.
    3. The really bad days at work, I go sit in the bathroom, close my eyes and take a few deep breaths. Then have a glass of water and get back in there.

I kinda understand how you feel about having that period of freedom during quarantine. That time made me realize that I’m definitely expending too much time and energy on my day job, which I’m also thankful to have but wish I didn’t have to have. If that makes sense. 😅 And I also get it re: the dishwasher. My current apartment has the first dishwasher I’ve had since I lived at home with my parents, and I am loving it. I never had one in all my years living in NYC and now I don’t know how I managed without one. 😭😭😭

After "accidentally" watching someone's travel vlogs (you know how YT do), and seeing their amazing travels, your video was recommended and I realized I needed a refreshing and grounded dose of reality! Seeing someone else's "boring" NYC life was a welcome change and actually made me appreciate my mundanity a bit. (although your TJ's haul was more interesting than mine - it's usually vegetables, chicken and frozen shumai) And for the record, if you're going to commit to a good ol' box of Kraft M&C, there's no point in ruining it with vegetables - just eat a big salad the next day. 😋 But I enjoyed this video and just subbed, so looking forward to more! (and good luck with the mental break!)

I remember during quarantine I loved the silence, the slow down, not hearing traffic just peace and I didn’t want it to all go back to chaos. I work an exhausting corporate job that I love but it’s still hard some days. Going for walks and taking yoga classes are what gets me through and even tho I’m around people in my yoga class I just don’t talk but it helps to not be isolated. And sometimes I just cry doing yoga because life is a lot. ❤

When I’m done with the day and need to reset to relax, I put on some sort of vibey music (something happy at least) and clean the apartment first. Blepharitis - the condition your eyes... You can keep it under control by using a warm washcloth with the hottest water you can stand and a little baby shampoo and use it kind of as a eyelid scrub. Also helps to keep too much makeup away and in ensure it's properly removed

Never change yourself for RUclips. Love you the way you are x

Hey Chelsea! Just wanted to say that I've been having a blast watching your videos lately. In fact, this is only my second time commenting on RUclips, and it's both been on your channel!
I've been going through a bit of a rough patch lately, and your videos have been a great source of comfort for me. Started watching them early this morning at 8 am, and I haven't stopped since😅. By the way, when you mentioned you're a Virgo, I couldn't help but smile. As a fellow perfectionist, I totally get how it feels to beat yourself up over a small mistake at work. But like you know what, it just shows that we "The Virgos" care, right? 😉😅
Sending you a big virtual hug all the way from Spain. Hope you're feeling better soon, and thanks for the awesome content!

Hi Chelsea. Just want to add to all the love you’re getting for your very authentic vlogs. I stumbled upon one of your recent videos while researching NYC apartments and city life and now I’m a fan. I have a job interview in Manhattan this week and while the possibility of moving from the West Coast feels overwhelming, your videos have made it feel more real. Thank you. Take care of yourself and know we are rooting for you!

With this lifestyle struggles come but also great opportunities. Now I am working parttime, focusing on my hobbies and communitywork. Sometimes its challenging, because I have to live frugal. But the time I have left for me ist just so precious. It was a very long way to live my life like I do these days.

I'm a native NYer. College in Manhattan and worked in Manhattan for about 25 years before working for the city hospital system in Queens for 20 years. I recently retired. I knew I was stressed out but I never realized how bad. I have been through blackouts in the city. I was across the street on 911. Had to evacuate the city walking home from downtown Manhattan to Eastern Queens. Lost my job due to 911. Unemployed for over a year. Going through all sorts of stuff but can't really comprehend leaving the city. I dont go into Manhattan as often as I used to. I need to do that more often as there are so many great things to do. I did go into the city around Christmas time.
Like you say, it is where I should be.

I'm not hating, I just can't wrap my head around the fact that some people actually enjoyed quarantine. I get that it was a chance to just finally relax after years of being stressed and running around for various tasks we didn't even want to do, but that's how I felt for the first few weeks of quarantine.
After that, I literally went crazy. It was the most dystopian thing I have ever lived through, and when they enforced a curfew at 6 pm (where I live), that's when the craziness really hit me. I wanted to do things, visit people, and I couldn't because I lived in a constant state of fear of either contracting this mysterious disease, or getting caught by the police and getting a fine, which at the time, seemed like a huge amount of money to me and I simply could not afford it.
But that's just me, I guess. I'm glad that other people took it easier than I did, and it didn't cause them the same psychological damage that it caused me.

I'm from Chile, and I've always wanted to go to NYC, I grew up with this idea of New York being the dream city, and I always said I was going to be living there at 18 yo, I'm 20 now, and I'm still in the same city in Chile where I was born in. I know New York is not the solution to all my problems and I want to give it an opportunity, but it demands so much of you that I feel I won't be able to deal with it. I've been struggling with anxiety for the last two years and from your videos I'm highly sure that my mental health will go bad as hell if I go living there. I don't have too much experience working here, so I don't know if I could even able to find a job there, and I'm even afraid of the language even though I've been learning English since I have memory. My biggest issues are the insecurity problem, the high prices, and the stress you're forced to live with.

Hi Chelsea! Thank you so much for your bravery and willingness to put your life out there. As a NYC native now living on the West Coast, the struggle is real. Spent several decades - pre pandemic, doing the NYC professional workforce grind (i.e. subway commute, long hours in the office, enduring all 4 seasons - especially harsh winters and brutal summers.) Took me a while to get myself stabilized on the West Coast. However, my time working/living in NYC prepared me for the initial ups/downs of moving to a new City. Best wishes on achieving a state of Zen amidst the chaos of NYC Life. As a new subscriber, I look forward to your future RUclips videos while going back to catch-up on what I missed.

I always felt like I was thinking ahead from an early age, but never lived in another place like NYC because I knew it was expensive without being rich already, only wanted to visit it. I always knew that and avoided it. But I also somewhat wish I had gone to NYC and been this terribly stressed out person who had to get a second job, and had to over-pay so much to get an apartment. I've moved a bit, now been working remotely in FL again, and made some $, enrolled in a fitness camp. It helps a lot to get a workout and meet a few people. I can basically afford anything but it makes me feel the reality that $ isn't important. I bet there are some group things in NYC that would also help with burnout and things like that if you just went to it after 5PM or tried it in the morning (5AM), people neglect fitness more nowadays and it's a core part of being well; and yet I bet you are like 'o wel I don't even work out'. It's a caviat though of being an attractive woman that you don't have to do it, but I'd still think you are cute and want to hug you or something. I also think the culture revolves around women like yourself though, like honestly, you being 'burned out' is still like you are sexy and don't have to worry about too much. You say like 'oh I'm worried' but it's like your idea of 'worry' is a barely noticable sunburn lol. For some reason all the blue eyed women that I remember from like ~10 years ago, in highschool days, a lot of them did end up moving to NYC. It's probably different for a girl in a way is all I'm trying to say. I would not want to move to NYC even if I feel like time is catching up. I always knew NYC as a democrat zone that is mismanaged, and you'd have to pay like 3k for a very base level apartment, even given, it's so cramped and likely uncomfortable literally building upward because of all the population. People should be trying to leave it, not go to it, but it's like they still flock to it. I also view it as an aesthetic culture in NYC over like a physical culture like in tropical areas where, yes there's aesthetics, but you don't at least cover it up with coats and clothing. There's a whole lifestyle and psychology behind colder weather and simply bundling up in comfy clothes, that make you look and feel totally different, however, it also means like you are sort of afraid and always feel better covering up your body in too many clothes. You literally cannot wear such clothes without sweating or being very uncomfortable in other places, and yet it always looks good to wear an overcoat, etc.. it's just part of the psyche of living up north, but I think that can be deceptive. So I know I'm not some super elite, who still looks cute all the time, definitely not. And I'm definitely getting out of the young area (almost 30 in a few yrs), I am not the type who is grinding hard all the time to become better except at certain times of the week. But I do think, people should be comfortable while basically naked or basically become fit and reliable. Many people are way too old, then they decide it's time to go experience tropics . I think that's the main point, and all old people say this: they wish they had just ignored the idea they aren't ready yet, and just gone and done something anyway. In NYC you'll likely either be a 1% who succeeds or you'll leave with barely anything to go finally 'live peacefully' somewhere; I'm just avoiding that by not moving to a city area. I suppose my point is yes, my idea of being 'efficient' by thinking ahead and skipping overpaying to live in a city is fine, but also it sort of leaves a 'fomo' (feeling of missing out) even though it's not really true like 99% of the time, because usually, even in a city, you can develop mental illness and it's the same exact thing; also I can just visit the city and hang out on like a 500$ budget so? whatever. It's temporary but it still creates a good life and relationships.
