In case it is helpful, here are all my van videos in a single playlist ruclips.net/p/PLxdnSsBqCrrF5nO7cmNTc4cct0miFWdO6. Please let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks for watching!

I really like these Ford Transit videos, you should start a poll where your subscribers pick the next modification. You’ll probably end up with a door-mounted toilet seat, but that’s part of the fun.

Great install video. One of the best. Very smart to show the side view for the install and all the possible clearance issues. For my van it might interfere with the plate or the door handle. I only wish you showed climbing all the way to the roof and then back down. I'm trying to decide between this ladder and the Surco for a promaster high roof and just wondering if one is easier to climb than the other. But thanks for the great close ups and explaining how to install it properly.

Thank you Christopher! This was helpful.
Love our Prime Design rear ladder and just mounted it with no issues at all...thanks to you! :-)
On the on the instructions for our Ram Promaster high roof ladder, Prime Design wasn't clear on the tightening of the bolts for bracket that connect to top/bottom of the door. And the needed tools didn't note that size (10mm) ratchet/wrench being needed.

Glad to hear that you got your ladder installed. I looked at the Promaster and was seriously considering it but a Ford Transit turned up in my area. I hope you're enjoying the Promaster. Thanks for watching!

Another great vid. Are you planing on adding a roof fan at some point? I'm looking at a MaxxFan but not sure how to install with the passenger wagon finish inside. would love to see your solution!

Hi Matt, that is definitely on my list but I probably won't get to it for a little while. I'm currently working on a DIY roof rack and hope to have that up soon. If you get to it first let me know how your fan install goes. Thanks for watching!

@@ChristopherLum well, i'm just ordering mine (130wb AWD passenger wagon) and don't have a delivery window yet so you'll likely beat me to it. :) Definitely want to buy you a coffee one of these days and pick your brain.

Hi Christopher, is there a reason you had to measure a specific amount from the edge of the door? I installed one of these ladders on a ProMaster and had trouble with the door latch mechanism. The reason was because I had used the ladder to attach a 70 lb. spare tire, thus creating strain on the door assembly. I have since taken off the tire but have moved the ladder several inches away from the door edge. My thinking was that there will be less effective weight on the latch assembly as well as the door hinges. The only thing I strap to the ladder now is an empty black water tote. Thanks.

Hi Chris! Another great video with all the important points covered and discussed. After watching the ladder video and seeing the distance between the ladder and van when the door is fully open (minute 16:20 of the video) I am considering mounting a #10 propane canister to the ladder so I can carry it outside the van instead of inside. The propane canister I am using has a diameter of approximately 9 inches. Do you think it would fit if the propane mount was pushed to the right side of the ladder?

Hi Brent, good to hear from you again. I just went out and measured and I think you'll be OK. The distance between the front face of the ladder and the car side is a little over 9". However, I assume you'd mount the tank on the side of the ladder (so it wouldn't interfere with your feet as you ascended/descended the ladder). In that case, the limiting dimension is really the distance between the face of the door and the side of the vehicle which is more like 18". I also don't have my ladder positioned to maximize the clearance. If you re-position the ladder you could probably squeeze another inch or two of clearance. Thanks for watching!

Hi Christopher, you talked about having a bike rack. I thought I would share my link to a bike rack I made using the prime design ladder. I wrote about it on the FordTransitForum. The link is :

Also, the bottom of my ladder slid toward the center of the van about 2 inches and I don't know why. I tried reinstalling it 3 times and it slides each time. Let me know if you have had this experience or know how to resolve the problem.

Hi Tom, I looked at your bike rack, that is a great design. In case you are interested, here is the bike rack that I made for my van ruclips.net/video/Mq2YggNeCLs/видео.html . I haven't had the issue you mention, my ladder has stayed firmly attached for the past year. That bottom tightening system is a little odd, perhaps yours is a little loose? In any event, great idea with your bike rack and thanks for watching!

I looked at a lot of vendors and the prices seemed to vary quite a bit (especially on shipping). I ended up going with RealTruck.com as they were by far the best deal I could find. I hope you enjoy the ladder!
