Hit the nail on the head here, boys. For years, when people have asked where I'm from, I'd have explain Wrexham's proximity to Liverpool and Manchester but you've well and truly put us on the map. It's now something to be proud of when people ask where I'm from ❤
I could listen to Humphrey all day. He has the best sense of self-deprecating humor and has an amazing combination of humility, pride, and joy about him. He is such a great part of the Wrexham story!
That was an amazing interview, and the ending was honestly emotional - almost brought me to tears hearing Humphrey talk about how it's the greatest joy of his life being associated with the club and the positive impact that the club has made on the people of the town. For what he's accomplished, he's still so humble and has such great perspective. And Roger is such a great interviewer. The perfect balance of humor, knowledge, emotion, and empathy. Really REALLY enjoyed every second of that. Courage.
In a world full of division, I think this is what makes this story so compelling. How one man, sitting in lunch room watching football, could start a chain of events that has had such a positive affect on so many lives is amazing!
@@armyaj Watch 'Welcome To Wrexham;. First season, first episode. In it, Ker talks about how Rob became interested in football and how that became an interest in Wrexham. Then watch every other episode. That'll give you the complete picture of what I am referring to.
Humphrey needs to take his impressions and accents on the road!!! And after that he needs to be dipped in gold and preserved forever. So self-effacing and witty. Meanwhile Rog, your interviews continue to delight, and I LOVE your delight in them!!! Congratulations Wrexham!
YAY!!! Humphry demonstrates anything is possible..........writer to sports team executive, I would love to see Rog interview Onkonwo, his interviews are the best.
What a fantastic interview, Rog! Your long ones are always sooo worth it. Hunphrey is also such a lovely man who knows and feels so much about wrexham, That this was just an incredibly touching conversation to witness. To much more success for the town, Much more cold brew coffee, And Curry baths! 😂👏🏽
18:50 - Escape from the National League last year indeed. The crowd response then seemed far more relief and emotional joy over having left a league having been stuck in for over a dozen years. This season, the crowd response seemed like actual excitement that the team got promoted twice in a row now and are back in League One.
As a son of Wrexham who joined 1800 others at the racecourse many a time in the late 60s and 70s I truly struggle to take all this in. Thank you Humphrey
I'm eager to see what Wrexham do in the summer transfer window, to bolster the ranks for League 1 play, which will defo be the biggest challenge they've faced since this wild journey began 3 years ago. I can't wait to see how they fare in a pond with bigger fish! GO WREXHAM AFC!!
When will you get Mark Griffith on Roger? You know that will be a conversation you won’t forget. Especially as the talk of pies and sausage rolls equals that of football. LFG ;) !!
Id love to see improvements to Training ground and further growth of the academy. Trying to grow our own players and investments in the future of the club. Will be happy with mid table consolidation next season cheeky playoff place in the next year or two
You're right, this year felt much more relaxed and less frantic than last year. In fact, talking of 1978, it felt a bit like the Rotherham match as we knew we would be going up, it was just a question of when, and we'd had the trauma of the season before. Oh, and we were on the pitch more than once then - it's old Welsh tradition. Now back where we were when the rot set in.
As I life long wrexham fan I’ve loved this mad journey we’ve been on since the take over , myself and my two boys have met Humphrey outside the ground for a chat and photos and found him to be an absolute gentleman and top fella, However after hearing him admit his go to curry is a corma , I feel things have taken a sinister turn 😬🤦♂️😂😂😂
Great interview! Humphrey now go out and get us Cameron Brannagan, Harrison Burrows, Ronnie Edwards, Charlie Savage/ Lewis Wing and Okonkwo or Sam Tickle ;) Should be a walk in the park!
Good decision to move a few on after going up. The transfer policy of buying quality players aged 30+ will hurt them in a season or two but it's a production line. 2 or 3 first team players will go every year - the signings that come in will be the difference
Great episode this! If you're a fan of Ollie Palmer, you really should watch 0:16 into the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie. You're gonna see someone you recognize ;)
Season has not finished yet and they've decided Manager of the Year and Players of the season . I'm a Wrexham fan , with play off in a fortnight or less surely Doncaster Rover manager should have had they Manager of the year if they win promotion to the likes of Wrexham, Mansfield and Stockport . From 17th end of January to 5 th at present and maybe promotion via play off . They should have waited another couple of weeks until they end of the season . Yes Mullin should have been picked consistant goal scorer
Honestly they shouldn't have made a third season yet and left it another few years, absence makes the heart grow fonder and not particularly exciting season only real jeopardy was wether they would be in the playoffs or an automatic spot.
There no reason why we cant compete at the top end of div one, obviously certain players will have to leave, no time for sentiment, and extra quality brought in, our midfield is in good order, defensively we probably do need a couple of players to replace a couple here who have bene injured on a regular basis, and if we finally get a striker in who can share the goals with mullin, instead of having to solely rely on him as being the only striker who grabs most of the goals up top for us then why not aim high again and go for promotion.
As they climb up the rankings and promotions I wonder if Wrexham will try and get into the American market by buying a few American players to represent the club?
I'd luv to know how much HK Wrexham salary is!? He's earned, but just curious in relation to players pay!? More or less? And is it a better paying job than his mixed film)TV career? Does he still do that as his side project? So many nosey questions!?😂
As a Stockport County fan I'm so glad Wrexham are coming with us.
Wrexham fan... stockport has been a great climbing partner. On we both go!!!

Only after Wrexham has him under contract. Keep him as anonymous as possible until then. (Which is impossible, of course.)
Great interview Rog! Can't get enough Wrexham content.
Just love listening to Humphrey Ker.
Could happily listen to Humphrey speak all day. Honest, humble and an all round wonderful butterfly ❤

Rog, I hope you see this. You are a fantastic interviewer / love these questions and quotes etc.
Absolutely superb mate
This was excellent. Thank you. Regards from Denmark. Go Reds!
Humphrey Ker is the GOAT. This guy here is a real champion.
He is bad at math, or maybe not hehe, you should see his appearance on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Gosh, Humphrey looking especially handsome in this interview! He's got that promotion glow!😊
Whomever has final cut for the docu-series did an amazing job with S2. The Rocky II training anthem was perfect!
What an amazing episode. Incredibly presented by the Rog once again. Humphrey K is an amazing man.
Thank god he let the butterfly flap its wings 👏👏
Thank you so much Mr. Rog.
Man City fan here. I love Humphrey, love Wrexham, loved this podcast. Up the town!
This man should be very proud it’s all down to him🎉

Great interview thanks to you both!
"If Sisyphus was sponsored by Ivor Williams trailers" why i tune in.....
i always assumed that the League structure was based on Dante's Inferno,
very articulate fella. no " you know" or "like" entire convo.
12:29 and our Captain Luke Young

Bubblebath and Vindaloo. The Humphrey Kerr story.
I thought we had a John Clayton ponytail situation when I saw the cord resting on Rog's shoulder at first.
They play off Humphrey as the "accidental" executive director.... That is BS, this guy is as good as any management in any club, anywhere!!
We’ve got to get a training ground built or L1 is where we will get stuck or go backwards. That’s an absolute fact.
Great interview! Humphrey now go out and get us Cameron Brannagan, Harrison Burrows, Ronnie Edwards, Charlie Savage/ Lewis Wing and Okonkwo or Sam Tickle ;) Should be a walk in the park!
great content thanks! Could you cover the work at Wrexham's academy? apologies if you have done so already...

His feet stick out the bed 😂
Humphrey is bang on with Mullin and Palmer upfront!! Love Fletch he’s amazing but Palmer is the workhorse to free up Mulls!!
Wrexham coming to Vancouver BC to play our Vancouver Whitecaps July 27 2024😅❤❤
Humphrey is the only one tall enough to look over Okonkwo's shoulder
2:35 😂 not quite!
I think in six or seven years they can make it to the Prem if they can keep doing everything the right way
Great episode this!

Need to strengthen the back 4 and get a keeper midfield to front should be ok
Parkinson deserve a knighthood for his dedication to f word😅
Got all summer to acquire more talent. Wrexham going to get attached to players though and struggle for it.
If you want a tour of Snowdon Humphrey I’m happy to help 🥰
He’s big, he’s red, his feet stick out of the bottom of the bed… 😂⚽️🇺🇸🏴

He only sees Wrexham as the highlight of his life because he didn't know you do not have to use all the numbers on Countdown haha

"Services to the 'F' word". I think you mean enthusiasm.
Mullin not nominated for efl 2 team of the year?24 goals i wonder why.
Tommy Cheese will be rolling in his Grave? WTF? What happened? I had no idea he died. And this is how you break the news?? Jeesus.

No😂
If I were an American soccer youngster, I would sign with Wrexham a one-year with option…hard to get better awareness and a marketing win for all
Curry in the bath... not heard of that... I've done shower beer, but not curry in the bath.
