I think people pay way too much attention to seat height and shy away from alot of off road focused bikes. I took an Adv course and once I started stopping off road with my butt off the seat consistently I was fine. You have to plan for off camber roads at stop signs and red lights but it becomes second nature after a while. If you’re riding two up it’s different. I ride a 701 enduro at 5’11” and it’s not been a problem. The ground clearance and suspension travel is worth it gentlemen. Don’t let a spec sheet discourage you!

Hello Bob, To me, height is not the relevant measurement to be concerned with. I am 3" taller than my wife but have a shorter inseam than she does. I am 5'10" tall, with the short legs of a 5'7" person!
I ride a dualsport with a 35" seat height, not an issue offroad, but it's not fun at off camber stops on the road... If I was on that bike stuck in stop and go traffic for an hour (Happened many times on trips) that would get old FAST! Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank

1090r rider here, I don't think I can ever own a bike that's not tall after owning this one. I'd like for the center of gravity to be lower, yes, but I feel like I can see so much and get over stuff off the road easier with such a tall bike. I'm 6'0'' so I do get what shorter riders my have trouble with, but I like a tall bike.

Hey Frank, this was a darn good video, and the more I watch your content, the more I like it. That being said, I have a few tips for you,
    1. I really liked how you were sincere about asking for likes and subscribes, but maybe you should insert that request in the middle of the video instead of the beginning. The beginning of the video should more so be focused on a good hook to get the audience excited
    2. I thought your commentary was intellectual and professional, but I think you should invest in a better microphone and perhaps acoustic panels, this would greatly improve your production quality, and generally make the videos more enjoyable
    3. (This one is subjective) I think it would be a good idea to put some subdued background music in your videos, it would once again, improve production quality, although I believe some people dislike stuff like that
At the end of the day, this is your channel and your life, what’s most important is that your are happy, I wish you luck my friend!

Good info, thanks. Not coming to NA until '26 is surprising. The next-gen 390 adventure r is one of the few new bikes I'd consider buying. The crf300 rally has a 35.2" seat height, but yeah, 34" is pretty tall.

Thanks for the update, Frank. Makes me so glad I got my 2023 390 Adventure last year. Like you, it's getting dialed in just right for me and for the way and places where I ride it. None of these bursts that bubble. Sure, greater ground clearance with taller wheels would be good, but not if it's accomplished by just raising the bike's overall height (and therefore seat). I'm 6'0-6'1" tall. It is slightly higher as is than even I prefer. And an overall (repeated) thank you to you & Adv Matt. Your videos have really helped me make the most of this bike. Hope you're enjoying (or have enjoyed) your Dakotas trip together. Robb

One thing to consider, though, is the seat may be narrower than before. So although the height as increaseed you may get some of it back.

Maybe there is a “Lowering Link Kit for the top of the line model as to create a more accessible MC for shorter riders and those riders who want to reasonably “flat foot it.” But how about Low C Of G gas tanks & curb weight when fully fueled, oiled, & watered cooled ? These are key issues for me & most likely other riders. Wish KTM would still sell the current KTM 390 , maybe with less expensive suspension to be promoted as a MC that is a “Explorer Bike” bike & not as a “Adventure” motorcycle. 😎👍

Factory cruise control? On the 390 platform?
That is a break in the gentleman's agreement amongst manufacturers... No factory cruise on a sub $10k bike. Unless something changes my mind, I still have limited interest in the 390 platform, but that may force the other manufacturers to catch up on their smaller displacement bikes.
