    went to japan last year october and saw the jetstream edge. would wanted to buy it however the 0.28mm was to small for my writing
    happened to watch this video days after my trip and was frustrated cause i shouldve bought cause the refills that i usually use for my 4-1 uni jetstream pens are the sxr 80 0.5mm
    few days ago my brother came back from his business trip and got me this one. was so happy. currently using the pen with the sxr 80 0.5mm refills. works perfectly fine
    thank you for this video!

    Great video, this answered every question I had, lol. Really looking forward to trying out the 0.5mm and 0.7mm refills in the Edge. The 0.28mm refill is really cool but not very practical for me.

    I love the Jetstream edge and I'm glad you did a video on this because I've noticed that the Jetstream Edge gets a good amount of bad reviews even though its just the stock refill people don't like. I get it, from my experience a lot of .28mm refills are just too scratchy and skip too much to use. But like you're saying the refills are very interchangeable, and I moved up to the .38mm refill and have no problems. The line thickness is still crazy fine but its so much more consistent. I also really like the .7mm. They also have .3mm, .4mm, .5mm, .and 1.0mm like you use. You don't see that kind of variety in refills very much.

      In Japan, writing is prevalent and people still write - a lot. This is why the Japanese stationary is amazing: these people take their scribbling very seriously - and good for them if I may say so. It's obvious that they would offer all kinds of refill variety in colours and sizes and whatnot.

      The 0.28mm is scratchy relative to a 0.5mm for sure, but for a 0.28mm, it's remarkably not scratchy! Just try a 0.25mm Hi-Tec-C some time. That said, I prefer larger sizes, but for specialty work, I think Uni did great work here.

    Is there any way to get a 1.0mm gel refill for the Edge? I’ve only found ball points that fit. Thanks

    • @unsharpen
      @unsharpen  3 месяца назад

      Hm haven’t found a gel for it yet. Most 1.0mm gel refills are too wide for a friction fit like the edge.

    hello dumb question. But if you cut down one of the normal plastic jetstream .28 refills.... could you make it fit in the jetstream prime body?? like are those refills the same diameter, just different lengths? (and one is plastic one metal?)

    I would like to see the Edge series with the quality of the Prime 3+1. The price would increase but I think it would definitely be worth buying.

    • @unsharpen
      @unsharpen  4 года назад

      Yeah, fully agreed. Edge aesthetic and flared grip but full metal. Maybe the Prime's matte black too. I'd be in for that

    Hey Sal, great video as always, I really like the look of the jetstream edge, I'm thinking about getting one.

      thanks. I think it's a good pickup, especially now that prices are sane in the US. IMHO: get the edge, not the edge 3

    Thank you so much, exactly what I wanted to know, because in the UK the SXR-203-38 is impossible to find, and I wanted to know if I could use the more common and thicker SXR-80-38 instead! thank you.

    So, until we get an official G2 int'l (Parker-style) official Jetstream in blue color, is there any way to convert a standard Jetstream refill to a G2 in a way usable in e.g. a Parker Jotter? I would love to know if such a thing is possible because ok, I love my Jetstream black and all that, but for blue I have to use Easyflow refills (not a bad refill by a long shot, but kinda inferior-ish to Jetstream).

    • @unsharpen
      @unsharpen  4 года назад +1

      You could buy a "Parker G2 to D1" adapter. There is one in Japan and I've wasted some money on 3D printed ones

    I’ve had my Edge for almost a year (ordered from eBay Japan). While I love extra fine tips, the 0.28 is just too fine for me. So I’ve stopped using it the last 6 months. Thanks for the video. Now I can see what works best for me. 👍
