  • Its Aussie made, I have spent many a day running one to cut slabs of 6" round bright steel for Flakt-Woods fan hub casting inserts, and Its the revolver of the metal cutting world, it works, its just not a good as a Glock or Sig semi-auto., AKA a bandsaw

I bought a power hacksaw at an auction for £4.00 plus fees. About £4.40 then! I used to cut steel for a small farm building I made for my brother-in-law. I sold it after the job and made a fair profit. I have since bought and brought back to working order an Excel 7x12bandsaw. I got that in a bankruptcy auction for £270 and have spent about £85 on it to get it fit to work. I used to leave my power hacksaw cutting though thick sections of steel at the end of the day and the following morning I had my parts cut. Always worth buying these simple machine tools!

Very nice unit! I picked one up a few years ago for $50, it had had the single phase conversion by having a washing machine motor fitted. She's been crashed pretty bad at some stage in her life and the top casting has been brazed back up which is a skill almost lost to history too!

I have to agree with that, people want WAY too much for them on Gumtree, way too much. recycling yards and machine surplus liquidators are best to keep an eye on, and even they can charge a bit, I got lucky this one was laying in the mud and they just sold it to me as steel scrap along with a pallet jack and other bits of stuff

    • @Aussie50

accuracy, well that depends on the maker and quality of the gun, my old Smith 38 would struggle to hit the broad side of a barn compared to my friends G17L, but done right, a Revolver is an awesome target gun, or as you said, a big hog stopper in somthing like 458 casull or 500mag :D
