Imagine coming home tired and sleepless only to end up getting attacked by your own wives, and then, having to deal with a bunch of noisy kids -- no peaceful sleep. I feel so bad for him.
This majestic sloth sleeps for about 20 hours a day while the females do all the hunting.

It's just REALLY heart-warming to see them in the wild being lions. My hope is that all animals in captivity will get to have such a NATURAL experience.
Unfortunately, the ones born into it can never be in the wild again
I agree however watching some of this stuff you realize they kill each other off, get killed by competing lions, hyenas, leopards etc. It's a brutal world and I don't know how "enjoyable" it is

@Darth Pepe "rival prides, other predators..." that's their life. It's nature. It's how it was meant to be. And as for "starvation", that's really our fault. With climate change comes prolonged drought. All that money that goes into maintaining zoos can be used to strengthen the efforts to fight climate change. Just because meals are a "guarantee" could NEVER justify stealing their lives from them. It's purely selfish act.
If it was born in captivity then it's a domesticated animal and it will not survive in the wild.
I loved how that one cub was experimenting with the dad while others were like"hm so let's see the results of this...".

This is very heartwarming from a natural sense of how the wild works.
Even though the father was aggressive and seemed to be rough on his cubs.
He meant no harm but more so was testing them and also showing them not to be too curious around him or else he may lose his temper.
Although he was annoyed by one cub he still was patient in its attention also had a little fun with the cub so it was all innocent as innocent goes within a lion’s pride

That one that was playing with his dad, I guarantee it's a male.. And you can see that he is going to become a ferocious and dominant lion when he gets older, if he hasn't already or if he has survived to see adulthood.. He was even attacking his father's mouth, and as his father was having enough of it, he was still there face to face with his father, with no intention of backing down 😂
Ah, welcome to being a dad. Even when you want to sleep, the little sh!ts won't let you or if you're tired they don't lay off ... they've slept and rested, and that's all that matters to them. All that matters is dad must play.

They have to be tough in order to survive and that's what their dad was doing ... preparing them for the harsh life/ environment.
Male lions are natural cub killers so these cubs are lucky he's their father. It's just a natural instinct for him to bat them around.

Papa lions plays a little rough with the kittens but he loves um.
I am surprised the lionesses put up the male swatting the cubs around. Even though the male was being rough with his cubs, for a male lion, he was showing a lot of restraint. It's why lionesses wait until the cubs are about two months old to introduce them to the pride. They need to be big and strong enough for the rough and tumble of lion society. A cub that wasn't part of his pride would be dead- I love David Attenborough's narration.
